  Demon Sehun POV.

The room was deadly quiet. All three pair of eyes fell on him and none of them seem to care about their companion's sudden death. Only the girl– he believed to be the sister– showed some emotions as though in pain as she briefly glanced at the severed head near her unconscious brother, before snapping her eyes back to him. She was shocked to see her brother's lookalike, that was much clear in her eyes. But as her eyes lingered on him, Sehun realized she was also assessing him, to figure out what he was and his abilities. He could read her like an open book, being able to do so was an ability of his, thus giving him the upper hand when dealing with people, the one person he couldn't read was– Athena growled at him, as if warning him not to get distracted. Yeah thinking about that person was something he wished to avoid. Thus he gladly focused on the present. The other woman, wasn't even gazing his way, her whole focus was on the tall guy with a look he could understand, even though he couldn't relate to it. Another fool in love. However the one she was adoring, had his eyes on Sehun with a glee of amusement. The sister looked between the other two, yet again her eyes found Sehun's. She was deliberating whether or not to attack head on or flee. But she did neither. It was the tall guy that moved first, his intents clear to Sehun. The tall guy's eyes darken, not on him but the unconscious other Sehun, as if the mere existence of him annoyed the guy to death. But of course Sehun couldn't let him have his way, not because he actually cared weather his lookalike lived or died– he wasn't a good person and he was told several times his morals were nonexistent– but because he was a person that kept his words mostly, and most importantly, the panther beside him would be very, very mad. And he couldn't have that. To say her opinion mattered to him the most wouldn't be an exaggeration. It was Athena that had urged him to come as well as lead him to the other Sehun's location in the critical moment. How she was able to do that was lost him. With that thought, he teleported to block the man's hand descending down on the fainted Griff with killing Intent. The moment they made contact, Sehun felt a pressure pressing down on him as if he were an ordinary human lost in the deep ocean where he didn't belong. He had met several beings with strong magical powers, and nothing really grabbed Sehun's interest in that regards, however this person was different. Sehun could feel the powers in him– so strong and not even the strongest celestial beings of his world, could match him. And those white winged bastards were powerful and tough as though made of metal. Nearly indestructible. Frowning, Sehun glanced at Athena with a subtle nod, and the panther jumped in, resealing her magic to surround the Fenigriff in a cocoon like manner. It would protect the fainted person from any one with evil intensions, but not save him from his current state and if he happened to die, it wasn't Athena's fault. Huffing, she curled up next to the unconscious man, while Sehun used all his strength to push the tall guy to side. "Who are you?" The guy asked straightening, eyes flickered to the panther and Sehun."Not of this world I guess." He answered his own question, head tilted in fixation. "But I can sense we're similar. Join me, you're not meant to be with them" he pointed at the person under Athena's protection. "This creature here is intriguing. Never seen anything like it." He seemed to take an interest in Athena, and that rubbed Sehun the wrong way. This bastard wasn't allowed to covet Athena. A while later, Sehun let out a snort, “No, we are different.” he said, tucking his dagger, away "And no I'll pass. I prefer being my own person."Reaching to the right side of his waist, he unsheathed his sword instantly. He rarely used this particular weapon, considering not many were worthy opponents to withstand its energy, a blessing from Lilith herself. The only few times he needed to use it was when fighting certain celestials. With his reputation, even the most powerful celestials tend to avoid him. "I rather have your head as a trophy." And Sehun meant it. Receiving such a blatant rejection, the tall guy let out a sigh, clearly finding it a great pity.“You can’t beat me. I am a demigod, that has been around for millennials." Although his voice was light, conclusiveness enshrouded his tone. Sehun was quite aware it wouldn't be easy take him down. But when had he ever stepped down from a challenge no matter the danger. Not even when he knew he might lose his life. It didn't matter his opponent was far stronger than him, one out of ten, Sehun would still fight them. An earth-shattering pressure plunge the air, that it became difficult to breath in. The sister, stood at the other side, both hands braced on the wall, her eyes reddening, clearly unable to withstand the pressure. After all, this demigod was thousands of years old. Although he had passed his prime, his frighteningly strong powers were a force to be reckoned with. Still Sehun wouldn't back down. A ray of sword light filled with murderous intent whizzed across the air, slashing right at the demigod. Immediately, the demigod stepped sideways. With a whistle, the sword light split the coffin in two, leaving three inches thick slash mark on the wall. Dust stirred up; even the building began trembling. Sword in hand, Sehun stood on the same spot and stared at the demigod, not even a ripple in his voice, “There’s no harm trying." "The audacity." The other female yelled, making an attempt to step forward, but the demigod stopped her with a raise of his hand. "I like this one. Let me have some fun, after all this time I've been trapped. None of those on the battlefield are worthy. I can crush them with a flick of my hands. And that's no fun." There was something inside the demigod that Sehun recognized, and he understood why the demigod said they were similar. However no matter how much Sehun enjoyed chaos, this person before him was on another level, beyond his comprehension. Sehun was no cold blooded killer, contrary to what many believed. He only killed when he had to. Just that anyone he deemed deserve to die, would definitely be killed, no matter the high risk or his victim’s powers being mightier than his. This person view was different. For the first time in his life Sehun was afraid. His fear wasn’t due to the demigod's strong powers, Instead, it came about from his view on murder. Everyone were mere insects in his eyes, their fate determined by him. It was no wonder this world's Sehun needed all the help he could get to defeat the demigod. The woman seemed as if she wouldn't listen but then she let out an exasperated sigh mixed with fondness. "How can I not let you have your fun?" She smiled with a meaning Sehun was well familiar with. "By all means." She made a gesture toward Sehun. Finally shedding off the peaceful image he maintained just then, the demigod tossed a scorned gaze at Sehun, elevating himself off the ground, “What a joke. Even mayflies know how ridiculous it is to try shaking a tree.” In other words, he just called Sehun mayfly. The bastard. Instead of replying to the insult, Sehun leaped up and lunged his sword toward the demigod. The sword energy from his lightning-fast attack congealed into frost before whistling across the air to the demigod. The latter simply pulled out a blade out of thin air, chopping it down. A violent explosion erupted in the air the moment the knife and sword energies collided. Well that was new, this person was using a fighting method like Sehun's. Amidst the roar of the explosion, Sehun flapped his wings and flew upward, reaching the demigod's line of sight in just a blink of an eye. He launched his second strike straight into the demigod's forehead. Even the oh so powerful demigod wrinkled his brows from the heavy murderous intent of the attack. Eyes fixed on Sehun, the demigod hurled a palm strike at him instead of dodging away. A violent collision of the two’s auras exploded in the air, causing the floor to quake. Once again, Sehun launched another attack, its aura even more so imposing than his first strike. In the twinkling of an eye, he had closed the gap between them. Despite evading away, the demigod still suffered an injury from the sword aura; blood spluttered out from his mouth instantly. Spinning his sword in arc, Sehun turned around to deliver another attack, more deadly than the previous ones. However, this time the female that spoke earlier, countered it, by using some sort of ring to absorb the strike. She glared at Sehun and Sehun glared back. Ah she was a powerful one too, but that ring around her neck seemed to be the source of a even more stronger power and Sehun wanted it for himself. "Seung-Wan handle him, I need a moment with my love." She threw at Sehun's sister, before turning to the demigod. "And you why waste your energy on him?" She pulled him closer, wiping the blood off his mouth affectionately. "Can you believe? He actually succeeded in wounding me. He's not even dragon born of this world" The demigod said, eyes going to Sehun. "I really like him. I want to keep him to play some more." "You're not my type." Sehun frowned, wondering if this person was sick in the head. Who hell admire someone just because they were able to injure you? Instead of responding to Sehun, the demigod glanced at Seung-Wan."Seung-Wan don't go easy on him. I want to see if I can really keep him. Here use the power of my blade." He threw said weapon to the lady, who caught it swifty Face to face, the two watched one another as she let out a pair of dark wings.Sehun was slightly stunned to know that she too had wings. This was going to be fun. He just hoped she was a worthy opponent. **** By the time Blink led them to the location Sehun was taken to, Kai's heart was in his throat. Just the sight of the building was enough to fear for Sehun's safety who was inside it, because it looked as if it might collapse with simple heavy steps. But as if their minds were linked, none of them hesitated. They couldn't afford to. They had already wasted enough time as it was. The journey to this side wasn't as smooth as they expected. They had to fight their way through. And It was as if traps had been set to hinder anyone from coming this way. Thanks to Blink's high alertness, they managed to bypass several deadly traps. But they made it. With Blink, Sehun's guardians and a couple of Kai's shadow guards, it didn't take mere seconds to discard the six guards at the door. A gust of wind hit them as soon they stepped inside, and it nearly knocked them on their asses. A fight was happening between Seung-Wan and demon Sehun. The latter had the former pinned with his wings– which Kai noted were the source of the strong wind–while Seung-Wan struggled, her own wings flapping madly. Other Sehuns had arrived earlier, but Kai didn't know the demon was among them or more accurately, he didn't expect him to actually show. Having him was a pleasant surprise. He was formidable. Seung-Wan was barely keeping up with his brutal attack. On the far end were two people, a male and female, locked in an embrace without a care of what was happening around them. The Yin mother, Kai did recognize, but the tall male, who could he possibly be? Kai wondered watching the two that appeared like a pair of long lost lovers. Then it dawned on him. They were actually long lost lovers. The tall male was none other than the demigod. It seemed Seung-Wan and her cliques had succeeded in waking him. That meant Sehun was– Unable to finish that train of thought, Kai's eyes wander to every corner of the room, his heart beating madly. And what he saw nearly sent his soul flying out. Sehun was laying on the floor, bloodied and unmoving. Something was next to him and with a closer look, he realized it was Athena. She had her body pressed to Sehun, probably to protective him? Kai wasn't sure, and at the moment all he cared was for his husband to be alive. He bolted to his mate, praying to all the deities above his mate was just unconscious. Kai couldn't go on without Sehun, losing Sehun wasn't even an option. As he neared Sehun,  Kai's leg bumped something that nearly had him falling. When he looked down, he was met with a head. Sehun's biological dad, the one that had taken Sehun. It was now he realized he hadn't seen the other when they entered. No doubt Kai knew who was responsible and he was glad the other had paid with his life for what he put Sehun through all his life. Stepping over the head to reach his mate, Kai shakily gathered Sehun into his arm and noted he was barely breathing. That was good, by some miracle he had survived the ordeal, that was supposed to kill him. Blood spurted out continually from his heart, drenching her clothes. He wasn't healing and at this rate Sehun might truly die. Kai felt despair clinging to him, calling out to Blink. She was Sehun's best chance with her exceptional healing powers. Athena pushed to her feet, moving to stand in way she wouldn't hinder Kai and the others. The guardians were next to Kai. When he looked to inquire why the harpy wasn't next to her son, he discovered she was frozen, gazing at the head with complicated look in her eyes. "Mother Blink!" Kai called out to her and she shook herself out to move forward. Kneeling in front of her son with pursed lips, she examined Sehun's chest. "Press here" she instructed Kai. His hand quivering, Kai did as told, watching Blink snapped the null cuff that Kai was only taking notice of. With both hands on Sehun, Blink poured her powers into her son. The stream of blood gushing out of Sehun's chest had grown heavy by the minute. Kai pressed down some more on Sehun's wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding. Still, the blood flowed all over his hands and drenched his sleeves. It wasn't working like Kai had expected, like he hoped it would. His fear mount as he gaze at Blink "Why isn't it working?" He asked, and the response he got was a glare from the harpy witch. And for the first time Kai realized she was as devastated as he was, if not more. The only difference was: she was good at hiding her emotions, but the rapid change of her wings color betrayed the expression on her face. She was a mother after all. She glanced at Baekhyun and nodded once. Seemingly knowing what to do, In sync the guardians each reached out to touch a part of Sehun, as if to give him strength and that was when things took a positive turn. Kai figured they were using their link with Sehun to give his body the needed boost to heal. Kai should be glad and he was, but the petty part of him was jealous. The feel of being left out, wasn't doing a damn thing to help his beloved in this situation made him a little bitter. He wished to finalize his bond with Sehun soon, so that he would be able to feel and give Sehun strength when he needed it. If they had been mated, Kai would've been able to feel Sehun's absence and locate his mate the moment he'd been taken and Sehun wouldn't have to suffer like this. He would've been able to prevent this from happening in the first place. Feeling the hole in Sehun's chest closing, snapped Kai back to gaze at Sehun's face expectantly. Kai could sense it against his palm, but he didn't dare take his hand away, no matter how desperately he wanted to make sure it wasn't just his wishful thinking considering Sehun was still unmoving. Not until Blink gave him the go ahead. The wound had healed, not even a scar remained, a testimony of Blink using her full ability. But even after a few moments passed Sehun didn't wake up. Confused, Kai glanced at Blink, his eyes inquiring. Sweat was rolling down her temple as she said. "His core is nearly drained, only a speck of energy remains. I had to amplify what little remains to power up his magic and sustain his body. He'll wake up, but I am not sure when." She glanced at her son, letting out a sigh. "It might take hours, days or even weeks." "Let's get him out of here." Baekhyun said and Kai agreed with a nod. A sound of glass shattering had Kai turning to see the demon had slammed Seung-Wan down the glass table, his sickle raised to stab her chest, clearly intending to end her. "No!" Kai protest and demon paused, his unhappy eyes for being interrupted narrowed on Kai. "Sehun want to keep her alive." "Does he now?" The demon said, his tone almost playful. Athena growled at him and he sighed. "I know. But I think she's better off dead." Kai totally agree with him– damn he wouldn't mind doing the honors right

Chapter 43: It was my favorite chapter as well, I even read it a couple of times.

There is never a dull moment in the Byun household and I love that Mina is still there with them. It’s also obvious that Baekhyun is her favorite. Little Steph is a sweetheart as well, I am still laughing over Baek and the paternity test. I can’t wait for the wedding.

Kai and Sehun are still the same and it’s hilarious that Kai has absolutely no control over his dragon, especially where his mate is concerned. It was also great to see Sehun send those ministers packing, Hyunjin is the rightful Crown Prince.

Lastly, I also enjoyed Blink visiting and the hellacats still being with Sehun. Thank you so much for this update, I am sure I will read it again before the next one.

Chapter 43: I can see why this was your favorite one to write, I really enjoyed reading it too. My favorite part is how the four hellcats are so protective of Sehun and everyone knows they are there for him, not Kia.

I can't understand why the minister/counselors would think Sehun would oust Hyunjin. Especially this many years later with hearing and seeing Sehun treat him lovingly as his own. I wonder if the minister was thinking of marrying his son or a close relative to the girl to take the throne maybe?

It's cute how Beakhyun is the only one to take Mia to task for changing the natural order/timing of change with her abilities just because she is curious. It only works because she loves and respects him so much and he is not afraid of her or what she can do.
I love his son, and how he had a DNA test to see if he was Chanyeols. The way Chanyeol teases him and laughs about it is fun too.
Thank you for this great chapter looking forward to the next. Hoping you have a good week.

Chapter 42: wow, that was very loving and sweet. Now they are one, both seemed tired but deeply content. Not much to say about this chapter, except glad that they finally mated. Kia just could not help but brag, he will probably regret it, he'll lose control and bam Sehun will be pregnant before the five-year mark.

Hope you had a nice time with your family.
