So... I've been away from AFF for quite a while and not updated this story despite what I promised in the last chapter QwQ Life got the better of me.

As the title suggests, I will be discontinuing this story.

I started writing「Third Time's the Charm」due to being inspired by way healthcare in the West (specifically where I reside) tackle and address addictions - trying to help people and break the chain of abuse and exploitation. As much as this is "just" a fanfic, I don't really write stories unless they have significant meaning for me personally.

Within 「Third Time's the Charm」, I tried to showcase a recovery-focused approach to tackling addictions, something that should be categorised internationally as a public health issue rather than simply a criminal issue. Nonetheless, I am finding myself disillusioned and disappointed by certain events and some country's attutide towards substance use - an attitude that results in persecusion rather than compassion. People have been let down by the very institution that was supposed to protect them - they were shamed and forced into a corner whilst in crisis despite being in need of help and support. Instead of recovery, what awaits them is death - whether literal or spiritual or societal.

This story is based in South Korea and to be frank, with the events that took place over the last few years in relation to substance use, and the country's attitude towards drugs, I do not feel comfortable writing
