Mei’s POV

 

 

It’s finally almost the weekend. Today was just crazy. I had to “pretend” I knew all the students and

teachers at the university even though I didn’t recognize any of them. Then I had Exo on my mind all day.

I seriously still can’t believe anything that’s happening right now. Everything is so blurry, it’s like I’m in a

dream or something. I had a terribly hard time dealing with Professor Cooper, apparently I was almost

done with this super important physics project that I have no idea I was even doing, and he’s extremely

impressed with my intelligence. Now he wants me to transfer to MIT? Hell no, I haven’t even experienced

South Korea to the fullest, or maybe I have but just can’t remember? Ugh! I’m going to go insane!

 

The bus stops. I’m so lost in my thoughts; I almost forget I’m sitting on the bus. Is this my stop? I look

out the window; I think that’s the house…Lu Han’s house? Min Young had told me she would be waiting for

me there because that’s where we were staying. She’s been acting a little weird, like she’s hiding

something. Getting way too excited over the fact that it’s Friday, I mean I know she likes the weekend,

but seriously? This morning when the alarm rang, Min Young jumped out of her bed screaming “FRIDAY”!

Then at the breakfast table she kept running to the calendar circling today’s date over and over again.

 

I walk up to the door and ring the doorbell. The door opens and Min Young peaks out.

 

“Good, you’re here!” She says, grabbing my arm and quickly pulling me inside. “Go upstairs and wash up,

make sure you don’t look too sloppy”

 

“Why? Are we having guests over for lunch?” I ask wanting to know why she’s in such a hurry.

 

“You were supposed to have lunch at school! Didn’t I tell you that this morning?” Min Young replies a little

irritated.

 

“Uh, no?” I answer trying to remember if she did.

 

“Ugh! Fine!” She leads me into the kitchen and starts boiling water to cook Ramen.

 

While she’s cooking, I take a look around the room. The house is amazing! I can’t quite pin it down, but

living room looks a tad bit familiar. Maybe it looks like a house from one of the numerous dramas I’ve seen?

I dunno….

 

“Alright! You can eat now!” Min Young interrupts my thoughts.

 

“Thanks Min Young!” I say as I begin to eat. When I finish, I do as Min Young instructs and shower

upstairs. When I finish, I get dressed and walk back down.  I hear a bunch of familiar voices. I look to see

who the people are and my eyes widen. Awwww man, Min Young!! How can you invite Exo over without telling

me beforehand?!?!? I silently scream in my head. Min Young sees me and runs up the stairs.

 

“Mei?” She clearly sees that I’m a little shocked. “It’s just Exo. They. Are. Our.Friends.” She says slowly.

 

“Oh, right.” I say taking a deep breath.

 

Min Young’s POV

 

 

I quickly take Mei over to sit on the couch. I feel like she’ll fall over without something to lean on.

 

“So when’s Lu Han coming over?” I ask Se Hun.

 

“I don’t know. Soo Man told us they would be back this afternoon.” Se Hun replies.

 

“Ok, so we just have to stall for three more hours.” I say to myself out loud.

 

“Are you sure it’s better that Mei doesn’t know Lu Han’s going to show up?” Kai asks walking over to me.

“Won’t she be shocked to see him anyways?”

 

“Yeah, wouldn’t it be better if she has time to prepare herself?” Su Ho adds.

 

“Guys, I know what I’m doing.” I say. “It’s going to work, trust me.” I definitely sound more sure than I

actually am. I’m secretly freaking out, but praying that a miracle happens.

 

The guys sign and turn on the T.V. Chanyeol starts flipping through the channels. They stop on a news

channel where it’s showing Exo-M successful promotions in China. Crap!

 

I turn to Mei, trying to block the T.V. from her.

 

“Mei. Hehe” I stall. “Can you help me with some homework?” I ask while leading her over to the desk at the

other side of the living room.

 

“Sure, I guess? Do you really want to do homework while Exo’s here?” Mei asks a little suspicious.

 

“YES!” I answer a little too fast. Shoot! I need to stop acting so weird or Mei will know something’s up.

 

I quickly hand her a thick packet. “Just look through the problems and mark the ones I got wrong”

 

“Awww, are you just trying to get alone time with Exo-K? You know I can’t understand Korean anyways.”

Mei says knowingly.

 

“Yeah, that’s it!” I say trying to make it seem like she figured it out. “So please just stay here for a while”

 

“Whatever” Mei says flipping through the packet.

 

Whewww. I sigh as I walk back to the couch area. Finally, everything is starting to go according to plan.

 

“So is one of the Exo-M members going to text you guys when they arrive?” I ask to no one in particular.

 

“Huh? Oh, yeah.” Kai answers with his eyes still glued to the T.V.

 

I shrug and sit next to Se Hun. We start a conversation and before I know it, it’s already 4:00 pm.

 

“Still no text?” I ask Kai after look at my watch.

 

“What?” He asked confused.

 

My eyes widen. “Didn’t you say Exo-M was going to text you when they arrive?!?!” I almost scream.

 

“Did I say that?” Kai asks looking around at the other members.

 

“Yeah, I heard you say that” Baekhyun says looking at Kai.

 

“I did too” D.O. adds.

 

All of the other members agree and Kai blushes.

 

“Ooops, sorry I didn’t mean to. My mind must have been somewhere else.” Kai apologizes.

 

“Ugh!!!” I squeal hitting my head.

 

Just then I hear the door open and footsteps walking in. ! I sprint over to the hall and see Exo-M. I

hear the Exo-K members follow behind me.

 

“He-” Tao shouts before I interrupt him.

 

“Shhhhhhh!!!!” I shush loud enough for all of the Exo-M members to hear.

 

Lu Han walks in looking around wondering what going on.

 

I turn around and see Mei slowly walking over and stopping dead in her tracks when she sees Lu Han. Her

eyes widen.

 

Everyone is staring at Mei and Lu Han now. No one moves an inch or makes any noise.

 

Is she in shock? Please no….

 

Mei’s POV

 

 

I walk over to the hall to see what all the commotion is all about. Then I see…him…

 

Then I hear Min Young’s voice in my head…

 

…just look into his eyes…the way he looks at you…the way he smiles every time you act a little dorky….and

you’ll know I’m not lying.

 

I look straight at Lu Han… his deep, soft eyes…

 

Looking into Lu Han’s eyes is like the sound and smell of rain, like playing at the park on a sunny

afternoon….like the way sun shines over the Han River… like gazing at the breathtaking city of Seoul at

night….and that’s the moment it all becomes clear; like having bad eyesight and putting glasses on for the

first time. I see the past few weeks flash before my eyes. Every single detail is crisp and clear. The

emotions come rushing back like a strong wind that engulfs my entire body.

 

I run over and jump into his arms unaware of anything else around me. The entire world slows down, and

there’s no one else but me…and Lu Han. He pulls me tightly into his arms and I bury my face in his chest.

There are tears in my eyes now, but all I can think of is his wonderfully familiar smell.

 

“I’m back” He softly whispers in my ear melting my tense heart.
