-And all I think about is how to make you think of me-
Yes, Jennie had other friends too. But Sehun only had her. This weekend, it was planned that he was going to be spending time with them so that in the future, if he got along with them, Jennie could skip being in a dilemma of whom to hang out with. And as much as he would like to leave this house and be in his own space with newer people, Sehun had to attend to his sick sister. He would've done it anyway but today, there was an anger in his heart. It was the fact that his mother wasn't home when Yerim was barely able to open her eyes, bundled up under at least three blankets.
He wasn't a least bit worried about her friends, no one was going to miss him. Not even Jennie. He sighed at the boxes in the living room, labeled CHRISTMAS in blocks. Yes, they were supposed to decorate the house. Yerim was excited, but now she was lying on her bed, sleeping. Sehun carefully carried the tray upstairs.
He checked her temperature and patted her cheek. "You'll be better in no time," he said.
"I don't wanna eat now," she sensed what was going to come next and hid her face under the blanket, turning the other way.
Sehun heaved a sigh, folding his arms, "Yerim..." gathering her hair from the pillow, he twisted the strands into a braid, "You have to eat some time today, you know. I'm not supposed to let you have a say in it."
"Please, I don't wanna--"
The doorbell rang, interrupting her. Yerim groaned, grumbling under her breath. Sehun was not happy at the idea of guests at home at this time but he dragged his feet out of her room, down the stairs and towards the door. Without looking through the hole, he opened the door. Surprise took him, he didn't know this person.
"Y-Yerim..." he spoke first, fear in his pupils. "I wanted to see Yerim."
"She's sick," Sehun said. "And who are you?"
"J-Jongin," if Sehun looked carefully enough, he would see the younger guy trembling too, along with his voice. "We read in the same grade. I just...came to check up on her. You...must be her brother?"
Sehun watched him carefully before nodding, "So you're friends with her?"
"We-we are...uh, she went to my house for the project...last week--"
"Ah, the science project," Sehun opened the door wider for him to enter. Jongin looked really happy to have been granted the permission to enter. "The one with the water...I guess that's why she is sick now."
"I'm really sorry, I swear I wanted to stop them--and the project was about windmills, really. But Jia got into a fight with Yerim because she got a little jealous of how good Yerim is at science and splashed the water on her--the water we were going to use to make electricity," Jongin met Sehun's eyes with his own wide ones. Sehun, stunned at the way so much has happened yet Yerim got away with a lie, stared back at him. "...I'm so sorry," the boy squeaked, "May I please see Yerim?"
Sehun sighed, "This way." He led him up the stairs, "Was the fight too bad?"
"Uh, no," Jongin scratched his head, "But Jia pulled Yerim's hair. She's always like that."
"Thank you for letting me know...Jongin," Sehun twisted the knob to Yerim's room, "Jongin's here to see you, Rimi." Sehun watched Jongin tense up at the sight of her. Yerim had her eyes closed. Jongin followed in, blushing, looking like a tomato, the worry evident in his creased forehead. Sehun watched her unmoving expression for two seconds before facing Jongin, "She's sleeping."
"Please don't wake her up then," Jongin said, "Can I sit here?" he pointed at the edge of the bed. Sehun contemplated but looking at Jongin's innocent eyes, he soon nodded. Jongin silently sat down, eyes unmoving from Yerim's peaceful expression. Sehun watched him with a faint smile. "I heard from Leah and came as soon as possible. Is there something I can do?"
Sehun shrugged, "
