you belong with me
invisible string
-I knew you, dancing in your Levi's, drunk under a streetlight-
"It wasn't boring...but I kinda felt left out," Jennie shurgged, "They're obsessed with Cardi B all of a sudden and I was like, what did I miss out on? Imagine listening to a WAP 1 hour loop or whatever that is," she glanced at Sehun who was most probably not listening to her. Her shoulders deflated, "Sehun," she called for his attention. He was supposed to laugh at the stories from her recent hangout with her other friends. But he was absent-minded.
"What is wrong with you?" She mumbled to herself, her feet dangling in the air like her earrings from her earlobes. Sehun had work in the kitchen so she was sitting on the counter, watching him, trying to talk with him. There was something so different about him these days.
"I'm nervous...about the job," he replied. "I don't know if I'm up to the mark. I might disappoint Minju for all I know."
Jennie pursed her lips together, "How do you even think that you'll be bad at anything? You're a ing genius."
"It's not as easy as Maths," Sehun shakes his head, tapping the egg against the bowl until it broke open. "And speak for yourself, genius doesn't necessarily mean science." The shells made way for the gooey interior to drop to the bowl. Sehun sighed, looking out the window. "You said you wanted to--"
As surprise took him, he dropped the brown shell of the egg into the batter of the cake. He watched Jennie's fingers intertwine against his torso, felt the warmth of her body pressed against his. Hanging his head low, he blushed. He wasn't used to Kim Jennie's affection, she was never the type to display it in such a manner no matter how much they loved each other. Jennie rubbed her cheek against his back, her way of comforting him, asking him to calm down. That he'll be alright.
"You'll be fine," she said, "Do you want me to be your first customer?"
"That will be nice," Sehun chuckled. Picking up the shells from the batter, he began to drive the whisk around the mixture. Jennie, on her tiptoes now, looked sideways at him, a longing look on her face. "When was the last time?"
"Not even your birthday," she smiled, "That was because...there were so many people. I was shy."
"You were too shy to hug me?" Sehun smirked, rolling his eyes. Jennie hooked her chin on his shoulder after multiple failed attempts. Her friend was just hella tall. Sehun began to pour the honey into the contents of his bowl. Jennie's curious gaze traveled towards it and before she could ask why honey, he answered it already. "Honey keeps the cake soft for a long time. Minju told me."
Jennie chuckled, "If only you weren't my friend, I'd date you. You can bake, you have the cutest sister ever, and you're not annoying."
"Not all men are annoying, you know."
"I think you're the only exception. All men are trash." Jennie elaborated, making him blush harder. Jennie clung to him like a koala before dragging the stool behind him and standing on that to look over his shoulder in her previous position. Sehun laughed at her adorable activities. Wiping the inside of the cap of the honey jar, he offered his finger to her. She it off immediately. "Oh, you're becoming a good cook."
"Jennie, it's only honey."
"I'm just saying," She smiled. Chin still tucked on his shoulder, Jennie advanced towards his cheek and pecked his skin as a thank you. "Say, when we're old, and still unmarried, or divorced...we'll live together?"
"I'd live with you anyway," Sehun shrugged. J
