[3:30pm]

“You’re Y/N, right?” Jaemin asked.

You didn’t know how you have fallen into the routine of sharing your supposed secret place with this kid you only knew from afar. You didn’t exactly move in the same circles so you didn’t really know him that well apart from his name. Until recently, that is.

He found you hanging out at the back of the science building right after classes where a cluster of forgotten benches had been forgotten. It’s where you usually came to think, read or just be cut off from the rest of the world. It used to be like that anyway but around two weeks ago, Jaemin discovered the place, too, and has since been regularly coming.

You never really spoke to one another and just minded your own businesses but he decided to break the silence out of the blue.

You glanced at him from your book. Today was a reading day. “Depends on who’s asking,” you responded expressionlessly.

He snickered and you had to look up again only to find him smiling at you, a tinge of pink dusting his cheeks. Now you understood why girls gravitate towards him. He was a looker, you acknowledged that but even more so when he smiled, a personification of the sun itself.

“I am asking,” he said, emphasizing on himself.

You raised your book to your face, fighting a smile. “Then yes.”
