Aeyoung tossed her purse on the coffee table and headed straight for the kitchen, she could already feel it. A migraine was coming her way.

Things were just so hectic at work, and it also didn’t help how her mother had blocked all of her upcoming projects and somehow managed to halt her meetings.

She yanked the fridge’s door open, but then it was gently pushed back before it would hit her foot.

“What~”

“Meiyin,”

Aeyoung paused, she looked up and her forehead crumpled.

“The shed’s outside, Kun.” She murmured as she turned away from him.

“Meiyin, wait.” Kun caught her arm, the girl sighed and briefly closed her eyes.

“Look, Kun, you don’t have to explain. I get it, you’re engaged, you didn’t want to tell me, I don’t know why. But to be honest with you~”

“I wanted to tell you,” Kun spoke, she faced him.

“When? Right before your fiancé would lunge for my throat?” She shot back, Kun halted, taken aback.

“What?” Kun spoke, Aeyoung swallowed, she pulled her arm away.

“Nothing, just go back to the shed, Kun. I’ll be~”

“Did something happen? Meiyin,”

The girl stopped moving, she sighed and turned to him again.

“You should have told me sooner, if you had, I would have kept my distance.”

“I don’t understand. What are you talking about?”

“Kun, your fiancé just called me up and told me to stay away from you. Because, us being seen together might cause problems. And, she’s not wrong, Qian.”

“Anqi contacted you?”

“She did, we spoke and I think she’s right. It’s not good for us to be~”

“Oh, so, now you want me to simply step out and not talk to you?” Kun shot back, his tone harsh.

“I didn’t mean~”

“You’re not being fair, Meiyin.”

“You kept things from me.” She replied, Kun paused.

“Because I didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable around me. That’s why.” Kun stated before stepping out of the room, Aeyoung let out a sigh and ran her fingers through her hair.

Jeno’s eyes went to the house and he saw Kun step out from the doors.

“Why did he not tell her? I almost got yelled at.” He murmured, Hendery followed his gaze.

“He keeps on saying that it’s because the timing wasn’t right, or that, it didn’t really matter because Meiyin jie wouldn’t care.” Hendery started.

“But, I think, it’s because, he needed to know.”

“Huh?” Jeno was confused, they saw Kun walk towards his car, there was a cold look in his eyes as he got in and eventually sped away from the property.

“I know it’s sound sick and wrong, but I think the moment he saw her, his brain switched back to how it was before. Back then, it’s always been them, nobody questioned what they were doing, nobody asked why they were together.”

“You’re telling me, that Kun ge still..?”

“I think he wanted to make sure if…he really is over her. And then in the middle of all that, he realized, he never did let her go.” Hendery finished, Jeno slowly shook his head.

“And he’s starting to regret ever being entangled with Anqi and her family.”

“He didn’t think this through.” Jeno murmured.

“Well, he thought your sister was getting married, he probably was..not seeing straight that time.”

“That time? Jaehyun?” Jeno spoke, the latter nodded.

“Rumors were going around about your sister and the other guy, Jung Jaehyun. I heard about it as well.”

“That…was all wrong, noona was there to use the store’s restroom, while Jaehyun hyung to accompany his sister.”

“The restroom, classic Meiyin.” Hendery mused, Jeno shrugged and smiled.

“You mean, a classic Qian and Meiyin scenario?”

“They tend to be over the top, huh?” Hendery joked as they walked back towards the house.

“Still, I would rather have your sister as my in-law than Anqi.”

“Can you believe it? Me? Me!”

Ten scratched the back of his head as he looked at his friend, Aeyoung had cancelled lunch with them and he had no idea why.

Well, now, he already knows.

“Yeoshin can’t join us, she’s~”

“The girl told me off. Me. Meiyin.” She repeated again as she tossed her phone away from her, Ten sighed.

“Look, Aeyoung, I get you. You’re annoyed because she basically accused you of trying to~”

“How could she even think that? Does she know what she’s trying to mess with? Years and years of~”

“Aeyoung, please.”

The girl stopped talking, she plopped down on the sofa and crossed her arms. Ten could only look at the girl, he could sense it. She was annoyed on being told off, she was right. But in a way, Anqi had made a point.

“Listen to me, I don’t agree with how she put things to word, but, they are engaged. And she is the fiancé, Aeyoung-ah.”

The girl’s eyes went to him, Ten shook his head.

“And, to be honest with you, using your friendship and the fact the you’ve known the Qians for a long time against Anqi is quite low, Aeyoung. This isn’t you.”

Her forehead creased and she looked away from him.

“I get it, you always got your way with Kun. Heck, he always did let you do whatever you want. But this time, it’s different. You’re not kids anymore, and, you’re not his girlfriend. Not anymore.”

“I didn’t mean that. It’s just~”

“Just let it go, and keep your distance, Aeyoung. That should help you out of trouble.”

“Are you really saying that I don’t fire back? She~”

“Aeyoung, please. Unless, you want Kun back, then~” Ten halted, his eyes went to her.

“Ten, it’s not like that.” She shot him down quickly, the male didn’t speak but his lips quirked up.

“You used to be his princess. And now, you’re not getting~”

“It’s not like that. Kun’s a good friend, I got worried. That’s it.” She stated before standing up to get herself a glass of water.

Ten leaned back on his seat and smiled to himself.

“Sure.” He silently mused and took a small sip of his tea.

Kun put his car on park and slid down from the vehicle, he loosened his tie as soon as he got inside the house and let out a breath.

It wasn’t making any sense. Does she really want to stop being friends? She would rather have him out of her life than talk things out?

He shook his head and walked towards the living room, and then he paused when he heard his secrteary’s voice.

“What~”

Kun paused when he saw the male speaking with his fiancé, his forehead creased. He tossed his tie away before looking at them.

“Sir,”

“It’s okay, you can go. Call LG Motors and inform them of the schedule change.” Kun spoke, his tone cool. Too cool.

His secretary nodded quickly, thankful to be dismissed right away.

“Kun, I’ve been trying to talk to you.” Anqi stood up, Kun exhaled and faced her.

“What is wrong with you?” He asked her directly, the girl halted.

“W—What are you talking about? I went straight here because you wouldn’t face me.”

“Have you no shame? Do you even know who you were talking to?” Kun replied, Anqi was taken aback. She put her purse down and shook her head.

“She told you. That tattletale~”

“You do not get to call her names when she has done nothing wrong.”

“She told me that she would never step back, Kun.”

“Because you told her to cut off ties with me. Am I right? Meiyin would never talk back unless she was taunted. Tell me,”

“Kun, why are you taking her side? I’m your fiancé.” Anqi pointed, her eyes lining with tears.

“You went overboard, how could you call up my friend and tell her to cut off ties with me behind my back? Is that your decision to make?”

“What if people see you two? What will that make of us?” Anqi snapped back at him, Kun shook his head.

“Anqi, do you even know why I asked you to marry me? Do you think I was the one who asked first?”
