hhh another seulrene
Irene let out a sigh as she put down a big box in front of the door to her new apartment. That was only one of many boxes from downstairs. She would have used the elevator but it was out of order.
"Of course." she chuckled bitterly.
She fiddled with her keys before finally finding the right one and unlocking the door. Irene pushed it open and carried the first box inside, putting it down in what was going to be the living room. She heard footsteps and turned around.
“Oh, hello!” she said.
The sweet girl smiled. “Hello! I’m Seulgi, your neighbor. It’s nice to meet you!”
The stranger extended her hand and Irene walked over to the former, shaking it and smiling before introducing herself. “Um, where are all your things?” Seulgi asked as she looked around the almost completely empty apartment. “They’re still downstairs. And all the furniture is gonna arrive tomorrow.” “Then, where are you going to sleep?” she asked. “I’ve got a small air mattress with me, so don’t worry.”
“Oh, you can also sleep over at my place if you want to.”
Oh? Irene was surprised by the sudden offer since she didn't really know this... stranger all too well and the taller noticed. “Oh, no, it’s not like that! I’m not a creep or anything!” Seulgi panicked and Irene had to giggle a little. “Why don’t you help me get all my stuff up here first so I can get to know you a little better then I’ll decide,” she said and Seulgi smiled. “Then let’s go!” the taller said and Irene grinned brightly as she walked past the former. The two of them walked down the stairs and Seulgi asked the newcomer a few things about why she moved and where she was from.
“Is nobody else here to help you?” Seulgi asked once the two of them stood in front of the u-haul Irene had rented. “No, all my friends are back in my home city and I don’t have the money to hire people to help me,” Irene said as she went to grab another box. Seulgi did the same and both of them didn't talk all too much while walking back up the stairs, concentrating on not dropping anything. “How many boxes are there?” the taller asked once the two of them were back in the living room of Irene's apartment. “Probably about four or five more?” she said and Seulgi let out a sigh. “Oh, come on!” Irene said and playfully punched Seulgi's arm. Irene normally was introverted, but upon meeting Seulgi in such a short time, she felt so familiar with her.
Seulgi looked up from the ground and smiled. “The one who is downstairs last is a rotten egg!” she yelled and took off. Irene was surprised by Seulgi's sudden childish outburst but she ran after her. Irene began to really like her. She hurried down the stairs but once Irene was back outside, she couldn't see Seulgi. Irene looked around. She checked inside the transporter as the taller jumped at her from behind. Irene let out a startled scream as the taller was laughing. Irene rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the smile on her face. Seulgi smiled back at her and both of them just looked at each other for some time. Irene remembered the boxes and snapped out of her mind. Irene grabbed another one and so did Seulgi and the two made their way back up the stairs. “Only two more,” Irene said after they had reached her apartment once more. She was about to go back downstairs when Seulgi grabbed her wrist. “Huh?”
“I wanted to ask whether you’d ever want to go grab a coffee with me sometime,” Seulgi blurted out, her cheeks blushing. Once more, Irene was surprised by her actions and hesitated to answer. Seulgi was getting nervous as she looked at Irene. “Y-Yeah, sure!” A smile spread across Seulgi's face as Irene's phone rang.
“Oh, sorry.”
She pulled her phone out of her pocket. My mum was calling. “I’ll go get the next box,” Seulgi said and Irene nodded as she picked up. “Hi, mum!”
Seulgi disappeared out of her field of view but soon Irene could hear someone, presumably Seulgi, shouting ‘yes’. She sounded happy. Irene smiled to herself and ran a hand through her hair. I really did like her a lot.
“Honey, are you listening?” her mum asked and Irene snapped out of her daydream.
“Yeah, sorry, I’m just a little tired.”
Maybe moving to an unfamiliar place isn't so bad after all.
happy weekend everyone
