Little StarSoohyun unwillingly woke up with the sudden jolt she felt from the ship. She found herself on the other side of the cell as she tried to make out the situation. The ship wasn’t sailing smoothly and felt like they were traversing rough waters. She tried to stand up as she leaned her ears on the wall and heard loud splashes of water hitting it outside. She was slightly thrown to the other side of the cell once again as the ship rocked quite harshly. There were no windows at her cell so it was impossible to see what was happening outside but she was more than sure that there’s a storm out there—and it sounded like a big one. Soohyun has travelled a lot by ships before but never had the experience to be in a storm so this was a first to her. It didn’t felt nice because she can feel her stomach turning upside down with every sway the ship does. She didn’t know what to do and stayed still on her spot for a few moments until she heard footsteps coming down to her cell.
It was Chanyeol. He was holding a lamp as he made his way towards her cell. He bent down and saw Soohyun curled up in one corner. “Are you feeling sick?” he immediately asked as held the lamp just at Soohyun’s level so he could at least get a good sight of her. Soohyun nodded in response as she hugged herself tighter. Her head was spinning and her stomach wasn’t feeling well which didn’t exactly helped because she was starting to feel awful.
“There’s a storm out there but don’t worry, it’ll be gone in a few, Junmyeon’s handling it. Though it could be a lot faster if Baekhyun helps but he’s still in his room. God, he could stop this in a snap only if he helped,” Chanyeol complained to himself. Soohyun looked at him after she heard what he said. Baekhyun can help with dealing a storm? Does his power concern anything about water or weather? She remembered not exactly knowing what his power was yesterday because she fainted before she could even ask and was kicked out of his cabin right after she woke up. She was in a deep thought as she stared at Chanyeol. He must’ve noticed the intensity of her stare as his lips curled into a small smile.
“You must be wondering what his power is, right?” he asked. Soohyun only nodded in response. She really wanted to know what his power was. She didn’t realize how important that was because if he was going to use it, it’ll surely affect her in any way. Soohyun felt the rough waves that were against them were now slowly becoming calm ones as the violent jolts from a while started dissipating.
“He can control the water,” Chanyeol calmly said. A silent ‘oh’ was the only response Soohyun has given and Chanyeol continued speaking. “He’s very good at it though—quite spectacular and awesome if I was to describe—but heck, he’s being a jerk right now by not helping Junmyeon with the storm at all. Though I cannot blame him because the things that run in his mind are also incredible ones,” he ended with a deep sigh even though it looked like he wanted to vent out his feelings more.
Soohyun was too engrossed in her own thoughts to give a reply to Chanyeol as she came to learn something new about Baekhyun and his crew. Baekhyun wasn’t the only one who was a gifted on this ship, there’s also this guy named Junmyeon, who Soohyun guessed might also be someone who can control the water. It came quite a shock to Soohyun to know that it wasn’t only Baekhyun who’s a gifted was boarded on this ship. If that’s the case, then that may be one of the reasons why everyone was scared of them and why were they branded as one of the dangerous pirates out there. Having one gifted with your crew is something—not to mention the captain himself—but having two? Baekhyun’s really out there doing something unfathomable.
Soohyun snapped out of her thoughts as she felt the ship was sailing smoothly once again. Chanyeol was back on his feet and was standing just right outside her cell. Soohyun stood up and went closer to him. She has a lot of questions in her mind that demands answers.
“Can I ask you something?” Soohyun started. Chanyeol nodded in response. “Is Baekhyun and Junmyeon the only gifted in this ship?” she asked with the obvious curiosity in her voice which Chanyeol returned a shook from his head.
“No. There’s a few more but not everyone’s a gifted. I am not a gifted though,” he smiled. “But we’re a small crew because Baekhyun’s quite picky with whom he wants to be part of his crew. That’s why it came a shock to us when he came back from Eristonia with you.”
“I don’t think he thinks of me as someone who could be a part of his crew,” Soohyun was quick to answer because she also didn’t thought of that before and to be honest, she didn’t want to be. She wanted to get the treasure as soon as she can and didn’t plan as far as wanting to be a part of his crew—she wanted only his help.
Before Chanyeol could even give a response to what she said, they both heard his name being called back up at the deck. Chanyeol bid goodbye and promised to bring some food after he’s done with his work.
Soon after he has left, Soohyun’s thoughts started to run wild on her mind. Chanyeol’s words seemed to echo on her mind the more she gave it a thought. She couldn’t imagine how Baekhyun was able to get gifteds to work with him. He was a gifted himself, he’s powerful enough to rule the seas considering that his power was even about having control with water, and to think that he has more gifteds with him was just too much for Soohyun
