24 - Dance With Me
Little StarSoohyun spent the next two days with Nana all the time. They talked a lot about different things—as to why was she with Baekhyun, why did she left Eristonia and a lot more. Nana seemed to have enjoyed her company because she just wouldn’t let go of her and would go on about how she wanted to spend more time with her. Nana mentioned that this was actually the first time a girl was with her because it’s either she was alone or she’s with Baekhyun and his crew.
As of Baekhyun and the others, they were nowhere to be found as they left the mansion early in the morning without telling Soohyun where they were off to or what they are going to do. Soohyun tried asking Nana if Baekhyun might’ve told her something but she just shook her head and told her that their lips were tight and wouldn’t tell anything at all. Soohyun suddenly wondered why it has turned like this. She could easily ask Baekhyun for the reason but he has been too busy to entertain her at all.
“What’s with that frown on your face?” Nana asked, offering a piece of cookie as she looked at Soohyun’s troubled face.
“I don’t know what’s happening. I feel like I’m missing a lot of things and I can’t do anything about it at all. I just...” Soohyun trailed off her words. No. This really isn’t the best time to beat herself up for something she has no control off. Baekhyun has always tried to stay transparent to her. He told her everything he thought she must know that’s why she couldn’t force herself to demand something from him when he’s been nothing but kind and generous towards her.
Soohyun released a deep sigh as she fiddled with her fingers. “I just...feel useless. I don’t know what to do or what should I even do. Do I just stay here and do nothing or do I need to do something? What am I supposed to do at all? Should I wait until I’m told what to do or should I initiate? I-I don’t know,” she said. “Ugh, I really want to do this confidently but I’m not even sure if I can really do it,” Soohyun immediately noticed the change of expression on Nana’s face and before she could even react on what she said, Soohyun raised her hand in defense.
“I know I shouldn’t feel this way because there’s probably a reason why they aren’t telling me anything and Baekhyun has already said I wasn’t useless at all. I just can’t help but feel like one especially at times like this, when I feel secluded. But I—I promise, I’ll try not to think like this in the future because this won’t help me at all. I’m sorry, I really—I shouldn’t have said that,” Soohyun said in a very fast pace. She then lowered her head in embarrassment. Nana must be thinking it was ridiculous of her to think that way. Soohyun shut her eyes tight in hopes that Nana would just drop the subject off and move on as if nothing really happened. She’d feel much better if that was to happen.
Soohyun felt Nana’s hands held hers as she looked back at her. She had a gentle smile on her face and Soohyun couldn’t help but feel grateful for her presence. It was nice that she has someone she could talk to.
“If there’s one thing I can assure you, that is you can completely trust Baekhyun’s words. If he said you aren’t useless, then you aren’t. You may feel that way for now but you can always rely on him and his words because they are the truest form of kindness he could give,” Nana said. “He’s just probably making sure everything’s going his way before telling you everything. He’ll come around sooner or later.”
Soohyun’s heart swelled at Nana’s kind words. She’d like to give her a tight hug as a form of saying thank you but before she could even offer herself, Nana was the first one to give her a hug. Soohyun rested her chin on Nana’s shoulder as she felt incredibly comfortable over it. It felt so nice and warm and genuine. She couldn’t help but want this feeling to last for a lifetime because it just felt that nice.
Nana broke the hug after a few moments and offered Soohyun something to eat to at least ease her worrisome mind even for a while. Soohyun gladly took the offer with a big smile on her face.

It was already midnight when Baekhyun came back. Some of his crew came back earlier and Soohyun heard Baekhyun was staying back a little longer. She didn’t expect for him to stay that long though.
Soohyun watched as Baekhyun made his way upstairs, his shoulders drooped while his whole body seemed like it’s on the brink of collapsing to sleep, judging from the way he carried himself. A few more steps and Baekhyun reached the end but before he turned himself to his room, he immediately noticed Soohyun who was standing not far from where he was.
“Hey,” Baekhyun greeted. “You’re still awake?”
“I can’t sleep,” Soohyun answered as she looked back at Baekhyun. She noticed how his eyes were fighting itself from closing and probably dozing off to sleep anytime. Baekhyun stood silently, as if he was waiting for something she would say.
“Oh, you must be tired. I won’t hold you back any longer. Go on and take some rest,” Soohyun immediately said as she motioned for him to go to the opposite direction so he could get some sleep right away. She thought he was about to follow her words but then he walked his way towards her.
Soohyun unconsciously took a step back as her eyes widened at the sight of Baekhyun nearing her. “You’re right, I’m actually very tired right now but I don’t want to sleep at the moment. Do you think you can lend me some of your time?” Baekhyun asked, leaning himself on the rail as he waited for Soohyun’s answer.
Soohyun blinked a few times before finally gathering up the words she wanted to say. “Ah yes, of course, but you look like you really need to sleep right now. We can talk tomorrow if you still want to,” she offered but Baekhyun kept firm with his words and shook his head.
“I want to talk to you right now and not tomorrow,” Baekhyun said. Soohyun could already feel her racing heart as she looked back at Baekhyun, nervously waiting for his next words. At times like this, when he’s surprisingly straightforward, Soohyun could swear to the heavens that she’d instantly lose her mind. She couldn’t handle the fact that his words were s
