Soohyun thought that the jarring details about Baekhyun was done after she discovered that he can control two powers but he was not—Baekhyun’s surprises aren’t done yet. After everything Soohyun had discovered about him, he now has unwillingly revealed himself to be a royal. It shouldn’t be that surprising to be really honest, but Soohyun had never heard of someone who was a royal that willingly left the comfort of the palace to become a pirate instead. 

“Let’s talk at my cabin. It’s cold out here and I just had my shirt ripped open. It’s quite hard to ignore how cold I am feeling right now,” Baekhyun said with a smile on his face. He didn’t wait for Soohyun to respond as he walked away and headed back to his cabin. 

Soohyun stood silent at her spot for a while. She was still in shock and she had a lot of questions on her mind. Why? How did it exactly happened? If he was a royal, then there could be a possibility that she has already met him before but then his face wasn’t something she knew before she had seen it in those wanted posters. Who exactly is Byun Baekhyun? 

Soohyun shook her head. She shut her eyes tight as she tried to compose herself before talking to Baekhyun once again. She then headed back to her cabin first before going to Baekhyun’s in a while.

Soohyun sat in pure silence the moment she entered Baekhyun’s cabin. He was seating on his chair while chewing on some snacks. He doesn’t even seem like he was completely bothered by what happened a while ago. The more Soohyun watched him, the more confused she gets. Shouldn’t he worry that she’s slowly getting to know more of him? He doesn’t even look worried at the moment. If not, he’s more relaxed than he ever was. 

Baekhyun stopped eating and directed his attention at Soohyun. He had to hold an amused laugh as he started to speak. “Seriously, I can’t believe you keep discovering things about me. I’m not even mad about it. I’m just absolutely amazed at how you do it.” 

Soohyun’s eyebrows furrowed at his words. She didn’t took whatever he said well. If he meant any of those words to be some kind of a joke, then she didn’t took it as one. Instead, she felt mocked and made fun of. “Are you making fun of me?” Soohyun asked, unable to hide the annoyance on her voice. 

Baekhyun’s eyes widened. “Oh no, god, I’m sorry if that came out the wrong way. Seriously, I’m just amazed, that’s it. It feels like I’m making a trip down memory lane with all the sudden discoveries you make,” he said. “Everyone on this ship has forgotten to talk about the past. We haven’t even talked about anything that happened before for years. It’s just that, now that you’re here and you’re unraveling everything about my past, I can’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed.” 

Baekhyun’s gaze wandered for a few moment, as if he was suddenly in a deep thought. The smile he had on his lips were an inevitable sight though it confused Soohyun more than she thought she would. 

“It’s funny because I tried so hard to conceal my identity to everyone. I intendedly left out the part about myself when we talked that one night. I did everything I could just so no one could ever draw my face exactly as it is.  I lived in the sea because this is the only place no one could ever follow me. I had Yixing place a spell on me just so it wouldn’t be easy for anyone to remember me. I had every countermeasure done—I was cautious and all, yet here you are,” Baekhyun paused, eyes gleaming with what seemed like amusement. “You surprise me, really, in a good way.” 

Soohyun looked down, unsure of what exactly to feel. Was he praising her? Or was he mad at her? Soohyun couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was he trying to say. She fiddled with her fingers as soon as everything went quiet—Baekhyun didn’t talk for a while so as she. 

“Are you mad?” Soohyun asked. 

Baekhyun shook his head. “Do I look like one?” he asked, this time it was Soohyun who meekly shook her head. She brought her head up as she looked back at Baekhyun. 

“If you don’t feel comfortable telling me anything about you, you don’t need to force yourself. I won’t ask,” Soohyun started. 

Baekhyun shrugged, bringing himself forward as he lifted another smile on his face. “Too bad, since we’re already here, why don’t l let you know more about me,” he said. He then pointed out the mark on his chest as he started explaining what it is. 

“Nana probably told you I came from Lirrion, right?” he asked. Soohyun recalled the time Nana was talking about Baekhyun and his crew and remembered her telling that they all left Lirrion back then but didn’t exactly mentioned why. “Well it’s a long story but to cut it short, I was one of its princes, explaining why I have this mark on my chest. We’re twins but my brother was considered the older one between the two of us. We’re really not that close, many would even call us enemies instead of brothers.” 

Soohyun’s eyebrows furrowed at Baekhyun’s words. “But I’ve been to Lirrion countless of times before and I haven’t met any princes before,” she said with only confusion painted on her face. It was true, she had been to Lirrion a lot of times when she was young but the frequent visits she had lessened when she got older that’s why she hadn’t been able to keep up with what’s happening there. She could swear to the heavens that there had been no prince or princess at those times and Soohyun could tell that Baekhyun’s older than her. If that so, then where was he and his twin at that time?
