On the next day, Taehyung waited in front of the school for Jimin. He felt really bad for making him worry and dragging him into the drama. And of course, he had to tell him the big news. He was bursting with joy and anticipation. He had barely taken a bite of his breakfast this morning and dashed out of the house to get to school a bit early.

When he saw Jimin coming up from afar, he waved at him exaggeratedly and nervously tapped his foot.

Jimin felt drawn out from last night and was looking a bit gloomy. When he spotted Taehyung from afar, he took a deep breath and tried to put on a credible smile as he got closer to him. When he arrived in front of Taehyung he was about to say “Hi.” but was cut off mid-sentence as his best friend pulled him into a crushing hug.

“I'm so sorry Jimin. I was an . I lied and used you as an excuse and made you worry...” Taehyung babbled into his shoulder and squeezed him tighter. Jimin's fake smile turned into a real smile and he hugged him back.

“It's alright...it was a hard day for you...I hope everything went well between you and Joon.” Jimin said and when they pulled back, Taehyung couldn't hide his bright smile and his blush.

“You won't believe what happened...” he said with a incredulous shake of his head.

Hearing Taehyung's wonderful story made Jimin forget about his own worries for a moment. He was so absolutely genuinely happy for him. Taehyung really deserved it. He hoped just the best for him and wished them well.

As the day passed, though, Jimin could feel his thoughts drifting back to the topic that had occupied his mind lately...

Namjoon.

It was so odd...Jimin had been a flirt ever since like middle school. He loved going on dates and jumping from one flirt to another, but with Joon it was different. He just didn't seem to want to slip from his mind. Having Joon admit that Jimin wasn't just imagining it, had made everything more worse and at the same time, more real too.

About halfway through the day Taehyung, of course, noticed that something was off with Jimin. He tried to get it out of him, but although the two of them rarely kept any secrets between them, Jimin knew he'd have to work this out on his own.

“Gosh, Jimin, spill it! What's wrong?” Taehyung asked urgently during lunch break as they were eating, but Jimin was just poking at his food and staring into space.

“Nothing, I swear, I'm just tired.” he said and shrugged.

“I'm not stupid Jimin...come on, I'm just worried...you're rarely ever this quiet...” Taehyung said and looked at him with furrowed brows, but Jimin looked down and sighed.

“Or...is it...because of yesterday...are you still angry at me?” Taehyung asked and as Jimin looked up, he was met with his best friend's puppy eyes and he couldn't help but smile.

“No, Tae, I told you, it's fine. I'm not angry...I just...I don't know, I'm just having a bad day, you know?” Jimin said with a reassuring smile. He didn't want Taehyung to worry so much.

“Sounds like you could use a weekend with your best friend, hm?” Taehyung said and smiled widely. Jimin didn't have it in him to say no to him.

“Alright.”

Taehyung let out a happy sound and finished his food.

“This weekend, my place, bring your comfiest pyjamas!” Taehyung said and Jimin giggled before they got up to go back to class.

When school was finally over, Taehyung and Jimin walked out of the building together, talking about their plans for the weekend. Taehyung stopped talking mid-sentence when he looked up and saw Hoseok leaning against his car, waiting for him and smiling widely at him.

“Okay, breathe.” Jimin said and chuckled as he noticed how Taehyung was affected just by seeing Hoseok. Those two really had it bad, he thought.

Taehyung looked at him and opened his mouth, but Jimin beat him to it.

“It's alright, go! Have fun, you lovebird.” he said and chuckled as Taehyung stumbled towards Hoseok with big eyes. He felt a pleasant feeling flood his chest as he realized that it was real. That they didn't have to hide anymore. He didn't care one bit, what the other students around them were thinking, he shut them all out as he broke into a wide smile as well. Hoseok pushed off his car and met him, pulling him close.

“Hi Tae~” he said softly and the way he looked at him made Taehyung's heart flutter uncontrollably in his chest.

“Hi...” he answered breathlessly and they looked at each other for another moment before they both leaned in for a kiss. Taehyung let out a sigh and slid his arms around Hoseok's neck as the older one pulled him closer and made him forget the whole world.

Jimin watched them from afar and then made his way home with a smile.

After they had managed to separate their lips, they got into Hoseok's car.

“Are you hungry?” Hoseok asked.

“Always!” Taehyung said and Hoseok chuckled.

“I'm gonna take you to my favorite restaurant, Tae.” Hoseok said as he drove off. Taehyung smiled to himself and tried to grasp the thought that they were actually doing this, going on a date, eating together in public, without any fears or inhibitions.

Hoseok reached over to take Taehyung's hand as he drove.

“I've never taken anyone to that place. You're the first, Tae.” He said and Taehyung blushed as he played with Hoseok's hand and laced their fingers together. Hoseok hummed happily and pulled Taehyung's hand to his face to kiss it. Taehyung let out a whine.

“You're gonna kill me with that someday, you know that?” he mumbled. Hoseok smiled and took his eyes off the road for just a second to look at Taehyung.

“Get used to it, baby.”

The sound that escaped Taehyung's mouth wasn't human and he hid his face in his sweater.

“Hobi!”

“What?” Hoseok answered innocently while chuckling to himself.

Once there, they got out of the car and Hoseok rounded the car, walking over to Taehyung. “I hope you'll like it, they make the best food in town.” Hoseok said and Taehyung smiled up at him. Hoseok gazed at him with endearing eyes and the younger felt his knees going a little wobbly just from that gaze, that look. He reached out for Hoseok's hand, as if searching for something to stabilize himself and their fingers laced together again as if it was the most natural thing in this world, as if it was what they were made for, making each one of them feel just a little more complete as their fingers tangled into a delicate embrace. Hoseok was the first one to break the tension with a smile. “Let's go in.”

Taehyung nodded and bit his lip excitedly as he let himself be pulled inside.

Not even half an hour later, they were laughing and swooning over the delicious food. They talked about school, about food, about music, about dreams. They felt like they could finally catch up on everything they had missed in the last months of their secret relationship when the tension and uncertainty had unconsciously suppressed them, hadn't allowed them to feel free and to give in to this. But now they could.

After hours of talking and a few emptied plates later, they were holding hands on the table, caressing each other's fingers as they shared eye-contact. It was still hard for Taehyung. Sometimes it still made him so flustered that he had to look away after a few seconds, only to blush and compose himself before he was ready to look back up into Hoseok's eyes.

“It's not fair! I'm blushing and all and you look just unbothered.” Taehyung mumbled with a whine and Hoseok leaned a little closer, bringing Taehyung's hand to his face, pressing soft kisses to every one of his fingers and his palm, sending shivers down Taehyung's spine.

“Believe me, I am absolutely bothered.” he said and Taehyung blushed even harder. The way Hoseok kissed his hand felt so utterly intimate and Taehyung looked around, somehow afraid that everyone would be staring at them, only to find that no one seemed to care or notice how they had slipped into their own world.

“What are you doing on the weekend?” Hoseok asked.

“I promised Jimin a bestie-weekend, he was a bit off today, I wanna cheer him up.” Taehyung said and Hoseok smiled.

“Sounds good, I'm sure you'll make him feel better.”

“I hope so. It's weird. We usually tell each other when something's up, but I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. Maybe he just had a bad day like he said and I'm worrying too much, but it just bugs me.”

“Give him some time, I'm sure if it's serious he'll come around and tell you.” Hoseok said and Taehyung nodded. “Wanna leave?”

“Yes please!”

“Where are we going?” Taehyung asked as they walked past the car, once again hand in hand.

“You'll see.” Hoseok said and Taehyung curiously followed his lead. When they got closer to the river, it dawned on Taehyung. When they arrived at the shore, he bit his lip with a smile. “This is the spot, right? Where we met ago weeks ago.” Taehyung said and Hoseok let go of his hand only to step behind him, sliding his arms around Taehyung's waist, pulling him close into a backhug. Taehyung felt the memories washing over him, causing him to break into a smile. He leaned into his boyfriend's hold and closed his eyes, letting out a sigh as he remembered everything he felt that night.

“I never thought we would end up where we are now...it's still hard to believe it's real...” Taehyung mumbled and Hoseok nuzzled his face into Taehyung's neck.

“You deserve the world Taehyung...I'm gonna do everything in my power to be worthy of you.” Hoseok muttered. The younger turned in his embrace and brought his hands up to cradle Hoseok's face. “Don't say it like that. You're making me happier than I've ever been in my whole life. All I ask is for it to not stop. Just don't...stop...” he said and their eyes met, before Taehyung leaned in, their noses brushing together.

“I really love you...”

“I love you too...”

Shivers ran down their spines as their faces just brushed together delicately, their lips only inches apart. Taehyung tried to drown out his racing heart.

“Kiss me like you did that night...” he mumbled and Hoseok did just that.

When Hoseok dropped Taehyung off, it took them a few minutes to separate from the other's lips and actually say goodbye.

“So, have fun with Jimin. We can still text though, right?”

“Yeah, of course. So, see you next week?” Taehyung said and just as he was about to unlock the door, Hoseok pulled him in for yet another kiss that Taehyung happily melted into, sighing against his lips.

Hoseok pulled away after a moment. “Okay, I should really go before I kiss you yet another twenty times.” he said and Taehyung giggled. “I wouldn't mind, but you're right.” he said and smiled at him, waving before he unlocked the door and stepped inside. When he entered the living room he was met with Joon lazing on the couch, watching TV.

“Hi Joonie.” he said, still not able to wipe the ridiculously happy grin off his face. Namjoon smiled fondly. “Did you have fun?”

Taehyung nodded and plopped down on the couch next to him.

“Jimin is coming over for the weekend. We need some bestie time.” Taehyung said and Namjoon tried to push aside the fact that he had lain awake all night, trying to get his little brother's best friend off his mind.

“Oh, okay.” He said nonchalantly.

“He was a bit off today. I was afraid he'd be angry with me because of yesterday, but apparently that wasn't it. I just wanna cheer him up a bit.” Taehyung said and Namjoon's thoughts were circling. Could Jimin's behavior have anything to do with...what had taken place yesterday...? With their conversation?

Namjoon tried his best to brush those thoughts off. He had done the right thing, it was best for everyone that way. It wasn't even serious right? What even was it? Just a stupid crush that would pass away if he just kept his distance. Jimin would find a new person of interest in no time, blowing them away with his charms, like he always did. And Namjoon would be happy for him and carry on as ever, forgetting about it. But could he really...? And was that what he wanted deep down...?
