Chapter 8
Wreck-it-Jen
Chapter 8/?
“Jennie?”
The heiress startles and drops the items from her hand. She turns to her side and was welcomed by the sight of a familiar shoulder length haired girl.
“What on earth happen to your face?”
“I don’t think that’s the question that people should wonder about, the real question is, why does an Heiress like you doing in a beat up downtown 7-11 at this hour?” Chaeyoung picks up the cup noodles from the floor and pass it to the latter.
Jennie gives an awkward smile, as she scratches the back of her nape. “Uh… I got hungry?”
Chaeyoung can’t help but scoff at the ridiculous answer “You have maids at home for that” How can Chae not beweirded by the presence of one of the richest kid in their University in a dingy street downtown, wearing a costly looking jeans and unreasonably expensive Gucci printed hoodie.
Jennie sighs, as she runs her hand through her tresses “I got lost okay?”
Chaeyoung lets out a hearty laughter “Seriously?”
Jennie has her arm cross against her chest, tapping her feet waiting for the petite girl to stop laughing at her unfortunate ‘event’. “Are you done? I need your help now”
The latter raises an eyebrow “You need me to send you off back to your house?”
“No. Obviously, if I wanted to go back I would’ve just called Uber or something” Jennie shrugs
“Ya, I forgot that you also have a chauffeur for that. So, what do you need from me?” Chaeyoung asks
Jennie lift the cup noodles in front of Chaeyoung , and with such desperation plasters across her face, she pleaded “Can you please teach me how to cook this, another more minute I might die of starvation”
*
“So now we wait” Chaeyoung closes the lid of the noodles and place the wooden chopstick on top of them.
Jennie and Chaeyoung decided to sit inside the 7-11 tabletop as it was too cold to even eat outside the vicinity.
“So, want to tell me the truth why are you here?” Chae strikes the conversation. Even though this scenario seems a little odd – the fact that they never even encountered and talk to each other before, well except for the recent event – if feels slightly comfortable.
“Must i?” Jennie said coldly. As she realises that she was being rude, Jennie quickly apologise “I, I just don’t feel like talking about it right now” She added. Which surprisingly for her, Chaeyoung didn’t press too much.
“Personal matters, I got it” Chaeyoung grins. She opens up the lid and motions the latter to follow her. “Now you eat them”
Jennie nodded, tasting the noodles for the first time. Her face scrunches as she swallows them “Wow, I didn’t know it would be this good. Goodness”
Chaeyoung groans and shook her head in disappointment “Seriously? You never had Ramen before??”
“I’ve had ramen before but not instant Ramen. My maids always say that it’s bad for your health” Jennie shrugs.
“Well, they always said that bad things in life are hard to resist, especially instant Ramen.”
“That’s total bull. And I assume that Ramen is your go to food?” Jennie chuckles
“Dude. Ramen is life. I’m offended that you even assumed” Chaeyoung shook her head as she sniggers
“You should totally meet my cousin. She’s crazy over Ramen as well”
“Ya?” Chaeyoung smiles “Is she pretty?”
“She’s gorgeous and she’s Japanese. Probably that’s why she likes Ramen so much”
“She must be crazy rich like you”
Jennie takes a sip of her Evian water before turning to Chae once again “Pretty much”
“Then I’ll pass. Not going gaga over crazy rich Asians” Chaeyoung chuckles “No offense”
“Non-taken”
“So, is it too soon for me to talk about the love of your life?” Chaeyoung asks, she notices the latter’s shoulder slumps slightly just by mentioning Jisoo.
“Ah… I don’t think she’s going to be the love of my life anytime soon…. Or ever” she utters the last words softly “She hates me”
“Yah… kind of” Chaeyoung admits. It’s pretty pointless to sugar coat everything anyway. “Hey, on the bright side at least you know that Jisoo is the kind of girl that won’t go after your money”
