→ March 25, 2018 - SUNDAY

A few days later, Jaemin did not receive the third letter. By now, he's beyond confused with the time interval of the arrival of the letters. Hence, his previous theory that a next letter will only come if he finished reading the latest letter is now a fallacy.

He came up with a new one though as he was taking a bath one evening. Perhaps, it will arrive when something important is about to happen.The newly formulated theory is solely based on the fact that these past few days in school have been kinda dull. They were having their lessons then a few quizzes right after. At the end of class, Jaemin and his friends will all go home together. Perfectly normal, nothing out of sorts. His future self couldn't possibly write all of that. With that said, the new theory has a higher probability of truthfulness than the previous one.

As for Donghyuck and their last conversation, Jaemin noticed that guy is seemingly avoiding him. Yes, Donghyuck is still his loud and happy virus self but Jaemin can actually tell that he's not included in his jokes. None of them even talk the next morning after that night. It was as if the conversation didn't happen at all. Jaemin didn't do anything but remained quiet. If it is true that Donghyuck slipped and revealed that he likes Mark, Jaemin decided to respect that. He'll wait for Donghyuck to open up. He just hopes that Donghyuck will talk to him anytime soon because he doesn't have anyone to talk to regarding this thing Jeno.

Okay, so he decided that he has a crush on Jeno.

He let go all of the dramas and denials that he may no longer be straight and just accepted the fact that he finds Jeno hella cute even if he's a guy.But no one, aside from Donghyuck of course and especially Jeno himself, can know about this.

→ March 26, 2018 - MONDAY

I guess something will happen today. Jaemin immediately thought as he spotted the third letter lying diligently on his desk when he awakens the next morning.

As usual, his name - written with his own handwriting - is visible in the middle. When he grab hold of it, the letter appears a lot thicker compared to the first two letters. He opens it up and as it turns out the envelope contains two notes inside. Eager to know the contents, he decided to read one of the two letters first before going to school.

Basket Boys Season

Jaemin sighed as he reads the first sentence, knowing full well what it is.

You and Jeno are both nominated as basket boys

- but majority voted for Jeno so he ended up as the representative of the class.

Oh, thank God. Jaemin thought, feeling all relieved that it wasn't him anymore.

The Basket Boys is a tradition that has helped support Gyeonghwa High with their funding whenever they have school festivities. To others it may seem just like a simple fundraising event, but to most - especially to those chosen as basket boys - it’s a bogus way the Parents Council devised to raise money for the school. To put it simply, the basket boy will be auctioned in front of the student populace and the highest bidder gets to have a lunch date with him. And boys are allowed to bid, too.

It's just a simple lunch anyways but of course to most girls; it’s their only chance to have a date with the guy they admire from afar. It's beyond ridiculous. Jaemin concluded after being their class' basket boy for two consecutive years.

The first year he was voted as the basket boy, the girl who won the bid barely even talked to him. The both of them just ate their lunch quietly with the clanks of their plates doing the conversation. The second time, just last year, was so crazy about him. She knew things about him that he normally doesn't disclose to anyone even to his friends.  It was so creepy that Jaemin started to get uncomfortable around her.

With those disturbing experiences as a basket boy, Jaemin surmised that it’s neither a privilege nor a rewarding moment to be a basket boy - even if he's helping out the school

Jeno made a history as he got the highest bid as a basket boy ever recorded.

Donghyuck forced me to bid for Jeno saying that he wants me to and as it turns out, he does!

I didn't bid for him tho. Will you try for me and see how it goes?

In the end, Lami, a junior earned a date with Jeno.

Great, his future self is asking him to try yet another impossible thing for him. But just like last time wherein he was fielded in as an ace server, he just got to braved it in.

I remember feeling jealous of Lami that day when I saw them.

Jeno looks really happy.

Jaemin was suddenly furious. The future Jaemin has the audacity to admit that he was jealous of some girl having some stupid lunch with Jeno but didn't even informed him about his growing feelings with the guy. He just in his outrage and move on to the last sentence of the first letter.

At the end day, I drew Jeno.

The last sentence was somewhat perplexing, it's been a while since Jaemin last draw something. It was a talent that lies in dormant mode as of the moment. There was a time where he used to draw a lot, quickly taking out his sketchpad as he spotted something sketch-worthy then immediately scribbling in the details as if he was Picasso. Thinking about it now, he can’t remember why and how he stopped. Now, he's only been drawing some random emojis and characters on his notebook in between lessons just to ease the boredom.

He can't believe that the first person he'll draw on his comeback as an artist would be Jeno.

Much of the things mentioned in the first note have happened. Mr. Kim handed in the ballots wherein each and every one of the class will nominate five boys. And as expected (only by Jaemin of course), Jaemin lose to Jeno with only two points in disparity.

"Hey, Jaemin." Jeno suddenly called out to him after Mr. Kim left the class. "What do you usually talk about with a girl during lunches? I mean, you're the back-to-back basket boy."

Back-to-back basket boy. Jeno made it sound like Jaemin enjoyed his reign as a basket boy. He dreaded not to be picked but somehow the odds are stacked up against him. "I'm afraid I'm not much of a help. I bored the girls to death when I was a basket boy." Jaemin honestly said.

Jeno look dejected and sighs. "Why did they even pick me?"

"Duh. Cause you look like a snack." Donghyuck suddenly intervened, clearly eavesdropping on their conversation. "There's no need to stress over this Jeno and you don't even have to do much. You just sit there, eat, look good and the girl is already enjoying herself."

"That's right." Mark said completely agreeing with Donghyuck. "Let her do the talking and you just have to reply nicely."

"Yeah, pretty much like a date." Renjun added. Soon enough the guys are gathering around Jeno.

"But...I've never been on a date before." As soon as Jeno said that everyone's mouth fell open.

"Huh?"

"Really?"

"You're joking, right?"

"Oh shut up ers, like you guys are one to talk, I've known you all forever and none of you ever been on a date before either." Donghyuck said defending the poor Jeno.

"We're aware of that." Renjun said speaking for everyone. "We're just surprised that someone like Jeno, who seems to be a pretty good catch by the way, hasn't been in one either."

"Please, you guys think highly of me. I guess I don't really look appealing to others." Jeno said.

Donghyuck scowled almost immediately, "That's what handsome guys would say."

And right at that moment, Jaemin wanted to scream that someone actually finds him attractive - to the point that they'll forget about their ual orientation for him. But of course, he zip locked his mouth shut. Before long, Jeno's problem is everyone's problem. Jaemin is trying to think of a way to lessen it but admittedly he's completely useless right now.

"Oh, that reminds me." Donghyuck started. "You need to wear a suit, do you have one?"

"Eh?!" Jeno said startlingly.  "How come they didn't inform me about this?" 

"Don't tell us you don't have a tux?"

Jeno went quiet for a short second and then, ", I don't."

"Are you sure you're from Seoul?"
