“Everything purple is mine.”
Wendy believed it. Used to. She saw Irene’s purple bedroom, purple toothbrush, lavender perfume, violet pencil case and all sorts of purple items Irene owned and she slowly fell for the colour as well.
Whenever she went shopping and saw something purple (one day, it was a plushie, another, it was a key ring), she would be reminded of her leader and more often than not, she would purchase them and kept it on her. She would wait for days before she had the courage to casually pass the small trinkets to Irene, as if she did not care much although her heart beat a little faster and her breath would be caught in as she waited for Irene to take them.
The older girl’s smile and the way her eyes lit up whenever she took Wendy’s gifts kept Wendy going back for more.
Maybe it was not the colour purple that Wendy fell for.
The realization struck her hard, prompting her to do crazy things.
Things like dyeing her hair purple for Red Velvet’s Bad Boy promotion.
When she went home from the salon, the members cheered when they saw her hair but she just looked at Irene – waiting, watching for the girl’s reaction.
It was like watching a movie in slow motion, the moment when a character realized they fall in love as Wendy watched Irene walked at her and ran her fingers through Wendy’s hair slowly, her eyes fascinated and the
