This little drabble universe is set in Australia! Here, Boxing Day is the day after Christmas and is the biggest sale day of the year, like America's Black Friday. Stores open early, people are everywhere and it's hella busy. Chadstone is one of our biggest shopping centres and is known for having the more expensive brands, so it's always swamped on Boxing Day and if you get there after like 9am you're ed.

Caught up in the excitement of being asked out by someone he’s actually attracted to, Donghae doesn’t even wait until Sungmin’s been let out of the hospital before he texts Hyukjae.

“Really, Donghae,” Sungmin side-eyes him, not even wincing as Nurse Jongin removes the glass shards from his skin. “You’re gonna look desperate. Which you are, but he doesn’t need to know that.”

“I’m not desperate,” Donghae says, surreptitiously eyeing the nurse but relaxes when his expression doesn’t change. “I just don’t want him to forget me.”

“I wouldn’t worry about that,” Jongin says, glancing up with a smile. “Your hair is bright blond and shorn on the sides. You’re a beacon for attention and if he forgets you, he’s blind.”

“And dumb,” Sungmin adds, watching as the last shard is removed. “Knew that hair was a good idea.”

Donghae’s phone vibrates with a message. He suppresses a giddy grin and quickly replies.

“What happened?” Sungmin asks, lifting his arm so it can be wrapped in gauze.

“He asked if we can meet for lunch on Tuesday,” Donghae says happily, missing Sungmin and Jongin exchange grim looks.
