"Okay, so now he's single?" Jin sounded as excited as Yoongi felt.

"Is it bad that I'm glad?"

"What, no! This is your chance, buddy! Go for it!"

"But his ex... we're friends."

"So what? It's not like Jimin can't be pursued again after a break-up. If that ex acts possessive, give me his location. I swear nothing shall stay in between you and Jimin anymore or I'll lose my sanity."

"I don't know, Jin. I feel like it'd be too fast if I go after him now. I mean, he just broke up..."

"How long does it take after a breakup for a new relationship to be deemed appropriate? That's all the more reason to go after him now, idiot! Mend his broken heart! Be a rebound!" Jin started laughing at the last one and Yoongi rolled his eyes. Unbelievable.

"Jin? How are you doing over there?"

Jin was quiet for a second, "Am I in America? You talk like I can't just go to your campus in an hour drive or so."

"I just miss my best friend,"

"Aww~ You're still soft."

"Jin,"

"I'm doing good! Just had my final. Aced it, man! I'm about to be a junior, yay~"

"Good,"

"I met someone a few nights ago, too, but we'll see."

"Aww? Tell me more!"

"I said we'll see!" Jin hardened his tone and Yoongi could clearly picture his best friend taking a heavy breath like a bull. "He's cute, though. So, yeah. I might end up marrying him, I don't know. He did propose, kinda. But he was drunk and I haven't met his parents yet. I don't know."

Yoongi chuckled at the mumbling. This is cute and he's glad his best friend finally found someone.

"Hey, Yoongi?"

"Hmm?"

"Wanna bet who's gonna get a boyfriend first? Me or you?"

Yoongi rolled his eyes for the nth times.

"What's the catch?"

There was a clear hint of mischieve as Jin answered, "A boyfriend, of course. What else?"

Yoongi smiled, "I'm not playing this game anymore,"

"Good call! Me neither!"

The next day, Yoongi went to Jimin's campus again with two ice cream cones in hands. He sat outside on a bench while he waited. When Jimin came out, he stood up and startled the other one a little.

"Yoongi??"

"Hi,"

Jimin spotted the melting ice creams and grinned. And then he wiped it off his face as he pretended to be serious,

"Don't tell me you're trying to cheer me up with ice creams,"

Yoongi nodded. He handed one cone to Jimin, and then decided to throw it away. Jimin was appalled but Yoongi instead took his hand and asked him to follow.

"Where are we going?"

"To get proper ice creams,"

Jimin let Yoongi hold his wrist without complaining. In fact, he liked it but he refused to admit that. Yoongi's grip loosened at one point and he let go when they arrived at an ice cream shop. Jimin was a bit sad about that.

They sat down across from each other. Jimin wanted strawberry but Yoongi wanted vanilla. In the end, they got strawberry. Of course they'd get that one. Yoongi couldn't fight with those pleading puppy eyes.

"So," Yoongi cleared his throat as they waited for their order. Jimin's hollow cheeks popped out a bit as he gave Yoongi the cue to continue. "How's school?"

Jimin seemed disappointed at the question but it was short-lived as he answered, "Same old crap."

"And how are you feeling?"

"Normal."

Yoongi nodded. They got their ice cream after that and Jimin dug in without having to be told twice. Yoongi watched him eat, something in his chest woke up from its slumber. He had always wanted this—to take Jimin out somewhere and just let him relax, enjoy his snack. Jimin's mood affected him so much that seeing him all jolly now satiated Yoongi enough that he didn't have to eat to feel full.

"Do you believe in the theory of multiverses?" Yoongi asked.

"What is that?" Jimin's eyebrows lifted at the new word he'd never heard of before. There was something stuck at the edge of his lips and he it cleaned.

Yoongi chuckled lowly in his throat to hide his blushing.

"It's the theory that there are hundreds of universes out there, parallel to the one we're living in right now except for a few differences. Like alternatives."

"Oh?"

"Yeah,"

"Example?"

"Hmm," Yoongi tapped his chin gently for a moment. "For example, one of the other universes doesn't have ice creams."

"I don't want to live there. Ever." Jimin pursed his lips.

Yoongi considers for a moment, his thoughts wandered around that one thing he wanted to say out loud. He took in a deep breath and looked straight at Jimin even though the other one was busy with his ice cream.

"Somewhere out there," Yoongi's voice was low in this throat. "In one of the universes, you and I are still together."

Jimin looked up, eyes semi-wide.

"The me there must be very happy."Yoongi added.

Jimin whispered, after a very long moment,

"I would love to live there."

--

Yoongi walked Jimin back to his campus after their ice-cream session, both were feeling slightly awkward after their sudden indirect confession using the universe and all those fake-deep talks. Jimin thanked Yoongi for the treat and even told him that he'd treat him to something else next time. Yoongi mentally noted that promise down.

When they got back, Yoongi complained about how fast it seemed. He wouldn't mind a few more miles of walking. Jimin called him unrealistic and told him to go live in whichever universe out there that had those extra miles he wanted.

Yoongi grinned, "Do you want to go together?"

"No. Shut up." Jimin grumbled. He stopped by the entrance and turned to face the other male, "Um, anyway,"

"Yeah?"

"There's this... festival," Jimin started. "In my campus."

Yoongi raised his brows.

Jimin continued, his cheeks grew pinker than normal. "It's on Saturday. This week."

Yoongi nodded. Jimin groaned when he didn't say anything else,

"Did you get the hint??"

Yoongi shook his head.

"Fine." Jimin breathed. "Do you want to come? To the festival? ...with me?"

"...oh..." the smile on Yoongi's face grew bigger by the seconds. He nodded too eagerly at the invitation.

"Cool. See you," Jimin shrugged and went inside.

Yoongi watched him until he was out of sight before he jumped and cheered for himself.

Namjoon was on his way to class when his phone beeped a new notification. He gained some new followers on Instagram, one of which made his knees weak.
