The ground shook violently with the walls of the building cracking and falling apart rapidly. Boa’s henchmen of Zennons rushed towards her room, knocking over a hundred times before realising that she was still sound asleep.

“Boa! Boa, wake up!” Alph, her trusted advisor, banged the door down and yelled almost instantly as he advanced to shake her awake. But the woman didn’t respond, making the rest of them confused because she was never a light sleeper.

“Someone was here.” he spouted, eyes narrowing when he saw drawers emptied and unclosed.

Karlos came from the back and bent down beside the woman, feeling her pulse. “Baekhyun asked to meet her last night, I thought it would be a harmless meeting.”

His menacing orbs travelled to her bedside table, lips turning into a frown when he set eyes on the bottle of iron pills on it. Alph opened the bottle but instantly slammed the tablets away when he found out that they were sedative pills instead.

“Get me a naloxone spray, her son must’ve changed the iron pills to opiates!”

They didn’t have to look far; Boa’s room had a collection of nasal sprays and asthmatic remedies for her to get used to the air. Though she rarely uses them now, never once did she opt to take them out.

Alph spritz twice into her nostrils and cued for the rest to secure the cells as well as the front lines of the buildings. “Eliminate them all! It’ll take at least 7 minutes before she comes to.”

Baekhyun ran up to the glass room and packed the remaining the blood bags into the carrier he managed to dig up from the white cupboards in the room. He temporarily looked upwards, seeing the top of the ceiling fall apart as the remaining Resistance members cabled themselves down into the building. His eyes darted back around the room to see if there would be anything that would help him later on.

Nearing the counter, Baekhyun hesitated to grab the remaining of the sleeping pills he’d exchanged with the iron pills the previous night. He wasn’t sure if Boa would’ve been woken up by now but—

“Baekhyun! Let’s go!”

He spun around to see Kai finally bandaged properly with at least a handful of Resistance members with him. Baekhyun gave a firm nod and took the pills with him anyway albeit his heavy heart.

The Resistance members handed him a few grenade beans, to which he tucked away in his back pocket as they sprinted towards the hallway of rooms.

“Kai! Your right!” one of them shouted from the back as two Zennons came running towards their way, firing aimlessly as they tried to block Kai’s way.

Without a hint of reluctance, Kai tossed two grenade beads towards their direction and watched as they perished behind the ashes and smoke. Although it wasn’t much of a difficulty, Kai still felt that it was a burden as he felt his ribs ache under their wrappings.

“This way!”

Baekhyun made a sharp left turn before throwing another bead behind them to block the entrance when he saw another wave of Zennons come rushing hot on their tails.

As soon as they reached the front of Shixun’s room, Baekhyun was ready to throw another bead but instantly halted when he saw his mother, standing as if she wasn’t drugged last night.

“M—mom.” He stammered, both his palms by his sides as the bead dropped from his hand. “You weren’t supposed to…”

“I thought you were on my side Baekhyun, when you entered my room and spoke about conquering the world together with the antidote we have.” The woman’s voice was filled with not only disappointed, but with rage and anger at the same time.

Kai gave a side-eye to Baekhyun knowing that the other wouldn’t be able to throw down an explosive which would result in losing Boa again altogether. And in a split second, he was already charging the woman and caught all of them off-guard as he pinned her to the ground with his weight.

“Throw one now!”

Baekhyun gasped when Taeyong and Yuta instantly released a bead each at their leader’s command. He watched as the rest of them continuously released a grenade, causing the place to explode and although the impact wasn’t strong, it was enough to buy them time to get to Shixun’s door.

Boa groaned and pushed Kai away before grabbing onto the ray gun from Alph’s hand. Narrowly missing her shot, Boa managed to keep Shixun’s door closed as she aimed and fired the door knob off.

“Nobody’s getting to her!”

Kai got off the ash-covered floor and threw a flying kick towards Alph’s waist, sending him tumbling down and crashing. “Break it open, we’ll hold them off!”

The rest of the Resistance attacked by combat, going head to head with their own weapons as Baekhyun tried his might to break the door open. But to his dismay, the door was made of platinum and there was no way for them to break it open unless they burst it open with a detonator. And one bead of the grenade wouldn’t be
