Seeing a Mirage
The Runaway Girl"Are you sure you wouldn't want to go with me to Seoul, Sumi-yah?" Her father asked her for the nth time already. He was going to Seoul, which was for her a forbidden city, to attend a business meeting fro three days with a business partner.
"No." She shook her head. "I'm okay here, dad." She doesn't need to elaborate. Her father knew. Yes, he knew why she immediately came home. She had told him everything. She couldn't keep secrets from him since it's only him whom she could talk to. Her father had been her human tissue. She cried over hisshoulder, he would hugged her tight when she would cry at night, and most of all he dried her tears away.
It was almost one month since she arrived in her home town. One month. But it feels like just a day.
"Okay. I'll try my best to come home two days from now."
"Dad, it's a three-day business meeting." She reminded him.
"I know, but I'll try to come home as soon as possible."
"I'll be alright dad. Don't worry about me." She said.
She heard him sigh. "That's not what I've seen a couple of days ago. Anyway, just call me okay. Be sure to lock the door at night. Call me from time to time."
"Yes, sir." She joked.
"Bye." He gave her a peck on the forehead.
"Bye, dad. Take care." She waved at him as his car skidded away. When she could no longer see his car, she closed the door with a heavy sigh.
