Chapter 12: 2 Years Later
It Might Be You//2 years later//
Exactly 730 days from this exact day, you left SM Entertainment. You left your dreams behind. You left Mark. You are a normal high school student who will be graduating from SOPA in a few weeks, and surprisingly, you do not want to return to SM. Although you are angry at the CEO, he was still right. Here at SOPA, you met a lot of new people and made many friends. You are one year older than everybody in your graduating class, and that is because you had to re-take another year since you started school late. You've taken many music and dance classes that have helped you improve so much. But, most importantly, you have finally found yourself. Since you've found yourself now, you realized that your dream to become a famous idol really isn't your dream. Your real dream is to pursue a great career in the medical field, but still being able to minor in music in college. You walk through the halls of your large school, and you see your new best friend named Jennie. She's a tall, brown-haired, beautiful girl from America, and she was your first friend at SOPA. She was the one who helped you get over your depression.
"Yah! Jennie! Where are you going?" you smile, running up to her.
"Lunch! Want to join me? I have no one to sit with today," she pouts, putting her arm around you.
"I eat lunch with you everyday. Do I have a choice?" you say, rolling your eyes and laughing right after.
You both walk towards the cafeteria and buy sandwiches. You choose a table closest to the window and you set your backpack down.
"How were classes today?" she asks you, taking a bite out of her sandwich.
"They were good as usual," you groan, thinking about all of the exams that you had just taken.
"Aigoo. Sometimes I think that you still want to be a trainee at SM," she laughs.
"I told you not to talk about that," you firmly reply.
She giggles, "Yah. It's the first time I brought it up. Don't you believe Mark will come back for you?"
You put your sandwich down and roll your eyes, "Never not once did he come for me or see me or contact me within these past 2 years. He'll never come for me."
"What if he just comes back all of a sudden? Even if you two haven't seen each other in years, what if destiny brings you two together again? What if you see him randomly on the streets again or something?" she asks.
"I really don't want to talk about him," you tell her.
"Y/N, you can't just be like this. I know you still love him," she replies.
"I don't love him at all. I didn't even get to say goodbye to him when I left. Who knows? He probably hates me. He and Herin are still together after all. All of the KPOP news articles are about 'Korea's Hottest Teenage Couple'," you say, getting annoyed.
Jennie sighs, "Okay. I know they're still together. Whatever. I'll respect your decision and let's just eat lunch."
"Thank you," you reply, finishing your sandwich.

"I'm late again!" you say to yourself, trying to run past the lockers in order to get to your vocal classroom. You always tend to be late to this class, especially since it's the last class of the day. You quietly with walk into the classroom, seeing your classmates work on a test. The teacher is looking down at his laptop, so you tip-toe towards your seat, hoping that he won't notice you. You take a seat and you see the teacher hit his hand on the desk, which makes everybody jump.
"Kim Y/N! You're late again! The bell rang five minutes ago!" he yells, taking off his thin glasses.
You stand up and bow 90 degrees saying, "Teacher, I'm sorry."
"Why are you always late?" he asks.
"Uh...that is...I take naps during our lunch break," you confess, making the class burst out in laughter.
"Yah! Who takes naps during the school day?" a boy named Kang Joon laughs.
"Yah! Who puts gum under the desks during class?!" you yell back.
"Shut up!" Kang Joon yells back.
"Children, let's not fight! You're graduating in a couple weeks for crying out loud! Let's not fight before we graduate, okay? Kim Y/N, I need to talk to you after class," the teacher explains. You quietly nod your head and sit back down, sticking your tongue out at Kang Joon one last time.
After finishing your test, you turn it in to the teacher right when the bell rings. You remember that he said to stay after class, so you stand by his desk, waiting for him to say something as everyone in the classroom leaves. At last, the room is empty and he looks at you.
"Teacher, I'm really sorry for being late. Just please don't give me a detention. Graduation is already coming and I don't need to get a detention at this rate," you plead, having a worried look on your face.
The teacher smiles, "It's not about that. It's about SM Entertainment."
Your eyes widen in shock and you stutter, "E-excuse m-me?"
"I wanted to discuss something with you. The SM boy group, NCT, will be performing at our school during graduation. I told this to the class already, but you came in late," he explains.
"U-uh, w-why? U-uh, w-what?" you
