epilogue: six years and counting
when my world no longer stops for youBy this point, much have already been said about Jungkook and Jimin. They've once shared something way too special, and at the same time, way too destructive. They left each other as much happy memories as scars, hence most of their friends who knew what happened were surprised that they stayed friends. Bambam, for one, never quite understood why Jimin chose to break away from Kyungsoo, while he chose to restore friendship with someone who's hurt him much more. It's hard to explain why, but Jimin is agreeable with how they're like now.
Jungkook and Jimin stayed friends, possibly just like all high school friends who went to separate universities. They don't meet up very often, and neither do they text very often. Which was expected, because they have different schedules and Jungkook would rather hang himself than text anyone first. Jimin isn't exactly a huge fan of texting first either, but he tries. Nothing's changed much about their dynamics when they text or meet up though, it's easy to slip into past habits when they're together. Time didn't erase their passion for dance either, they'd still return to support their juniors perform, and occasionally danced together whenever they have the chance.
Time has told them who's their best friend. Just like how Jimin trusts Taehyung with everything and they're fully comfortable with talking about anything (from the weird embarrassing stuff to the deep, existential crisis discussion), Jungkook has his 'jeon twin' Hoseok who's his longest and cheesiest friend that stuck through thick and thin with him despite how they argued every single dance practice. A best friend never caused them emotional rollercoasters, but stayed beside them while they handled it. A best friend that they rarely felt aggressively for, but had always been there for every step, good or bad.
They now understand who should be 'the most important', and settled with 'the most special'. Things are not the same anymore, but that's okay because we're pretty fine like this too.
Of course, their story stays a "To Be Continued" in real life, but here, let's conclude it now. It has been a long journey, stranger, so thank you for listening, and I hope it was worth your time.
