It All Crashes Down
Crazy About YouSungjong went to the extent of making Myungsoo's homework. When asked why, he said, "It's a new part of the program." He was determined to get his attention by making yet another wrong decision.
He was starting to get unwanted attention. More and more athletes were saying that his services weren't good anymore. When they heard about Myungsoo's homeworks, they asked him to do it, but he said that the project doesn't exist. Until one day, he was asked again to meet with the President.
"Have you heard about the recent issue?"
"N-no." Sungjong said, worried.
The President sighed. "Atheletes aren't satisfied with your service. They said you were giving special treatment to Kim Myungsoo. We know, he might be the campus' crush, probably yours too, but it doesn't justify the fact that you're clearly making an exemption and special treatment. "
Sungjong can't defend himself because he knows it's true.
"If you can't satisfy a small group of students with your service, how do you expect to serve the campus?"
Silence.
"Have you seen the recent survey? You're last. Some students didn't even bother looking at your name and erased it. You know where this is heading, right Mr. Lee?"
Sungjong was on the verge of tears. He was waiting for it to come from the mouth of the President himself.
"You will no longer be part of the Student Council."
"NO! You have to give me another chance! Please.... I want this position. I NEED this position!" Sungjong pleaded.
The President sighed, "I'm sorry Lee Sungjong but a huge percentage is against you and your campaign. Please understand."

Sungjong was in the state of panicking. "Can you keep this news until the campaign? Please. If it's okay?" The President agreed because it was the least he can do. Sungjong took the opportunity to still do things for Myungsoo but at the same time, keep his pride in front of him. He admits he has a little confidence to talk to Myungsoo that he needs something to present himself and to make himself look better. He walks the hallway, paranoid.
What if these people knew what was going on?
What if they knew what he has been up to?
What if they all think he was worthless, just the way he felt before?
He brushed his thoughts away and calmed himself down. He walked down the hallway head held high thinking that other people would do the same thing if they have someone they have a huge crush on.
He was taken aback when he saw Myungsoo inside the Student Council room. "W-what are you doing here?" he asked, nervous.
"Uhm... is it okay if I ask you for another project?"
"Oh. S-sure. What is it?"
Myungsoo handed him the instructions and the materials as well.
"I'll get this done. I'll just deliver it to your hou..." he stopped as himself before he continue as if it was a normal thing to go to his house. "...I mean your classroom." he smiled.
"Thanks." Myungsoo smiled back.
When Myungsoo was about to step out, he turned around again to ask what he has been thinking about for the last few minutes.
"Hey, can I ask you something?"
"Sure. What is it?"
"Do you know anything about that "Guardian Angel"? I mean, you must be seeing someone around before because you used to roam around the halls, right?"
Of course. That was me.
"Uhm, no. W-why? Is it bothering you?" Sungjong tried to answer calmly.
"Not really. It's just that... I find that person okay. It's as if that person knew what's exactly going on in my life that the person knows what to say, what to advice and what I needed that day. Including the food I crave for..." Myungsoo was getting lost in his thoughts.
"Isn't that a good thing? I mean, that person hides because he/she knows that no one seems to be good enough for you, but still takes care of you secretly."
"I used to think that it was a good thing, but the people around doesn't think the same. Yeah, it was hella creepy how that person just knows every single thing I need. So... it must be scary right? I probably was blinded by the care that I thought it was fine. And also, who am I? What do you mean not good enough? Am I such a high person that everyone thinks I'm too far to reach? That's a very stupid thing to think about! And also..." Sungjong hardly heard the next lines. It was making him feel smaller and smaller because what he thought was okay doesn't seem like it anymore. But it was his only way.
"....Anyway, I have to go. Thanks again." he smiled.
Sungjong once again can't defend himself two times in a row. He felt like everything's crushing down but he has to get through. He's been through so much that it would be meaningless to stop now. He continued doing projects as promised, but only for Myungsoo.
Myungsoo just finished practicing and went to the locker room. He hurriedly showered and collected his things to ask Sungjong for another favor.
"Hey, where are you going?" Dongwoo, his soccermate asked.
"To Sungjong, I have another project and I have to submit this tomorrow. We've been practicing so bad for the upcoming game I can't do it." He answered.
"Sungjong? Project?" Dongwoo thought for a moment. "He said it wasn't available anymore?"
Myungsoo stopped what he's doing. "What do you mean?"
"Well he said it doesn't exist anymore about 2 weeks ago? Or last month?" Dongwoo was thinking hard.
"Last month." Sunggyu, another teammate said. "He's been rejecting us for a long time now."
"But he just accepted my project last week." Myungsoo said confused.
"Lol. Why do you have so many projects?" Dongwoo and Sunggyu laughed.
"Shut up! It's almost the end of the quarter, that's why." Myungsoo said, still lost in his thoughts.
"Guess he's doing some special service for you." Sunggyu said and winked.
Myungsoo was thinking twice about giving the project to Sungjong. He had to ask the other athletes because he's now getting more and more confused, specially when he thought about the girls who approached him last time. But every athlete said the same thing just like what his teammates said, he rejects them. They were surprised that he could still avail some of Sungjong's service.
"Maybe he's doing special service for you." They all said the same thing and Myungsoo doesn't know what to believe anymore.
Sungjong was feeling low during lunch that he didn't bother getting some food.
"Are you on a diet?" Hoya asked.
"What are you trying to lose? Your bones? You're too thin now, you don't have to go on diet!" Woohyun said jokingly.
"No... I just don't feel like it." Sungjong said, still out of energy.
"Why? What happened?" Woohyun and Hoya asked in unison.
"Myungsoo talked to me last time. He said that he doesn't like what "Guardian Angel" is doing anymore. He said it was too creepy." Sungjong answered.
"Isn't it really?" Woohyun said jokingly again and Hoya hit him with his elbow. "Don't mind this jerk." Hoya said. "Hey!" Woohyun interrupted then Hoya stuck his tongue out.
"Anyway, what I was about to say was: Why don't you give him a letter explaining your intention? Maybe he looked at it the other way. Tell him your side."
"But what will I say? That I just wanted his attention because I can't talk to him on a normal basis without any tool or title to use?"
"Excuse me." Woohyun interrupted. "I think it's a lot better if you talk to him in person."
"No way!" Sungjong and Hoya said in unison.
Woohyun rolled his eyes. "Don't you think, he would've noticed by then that it was really you? Suddenly, his "angel" is talking about his purpose on sending letters when he's not even demanding it."
"But he was." Sungjong said.
"Yeah, to you. Not to Guardian Angel who probably have no idea because HE.DID.NOT.TALK.TO.HIM. He talked to YOU. Who knows it. Who knows his point of view. Who knows what he feels about the letters. How can Guardian Angel know the things he told you? From then, you're busted. B.U.S.T.E.D." Woohyun argued.
He did have a point. He has to be careful about his next moves from now on.
"Okay. Maybe, I'll take it slow through letters, THEN talk to him about it. But isn't that stupid? Wouldn't it be more clever if I'll just stop?"
"But will you?" Hoya asked.
Of course not.
"Okay, okay. I'll think about it. But I'm the best in letters. I should just, like I said," He looked at both Hoya and Woohyun. "...take it slow." Sungjong explained.
"Okay, Guardian Angel...." Woohyun said with a sarcastic voice. Little did he know, the girls just sat down beside them and heard the name Guardian Angel just in time. "...you're in charge but don't take it too long. You have to tell Myungsoo." Woohyun continued.
The girls became more suspicious. After lunch, they followed Sungjong everywhere he go, still careful so he can't spot them. They saw him go through the hallway of lockers and stopped in front Myungsoo's. Sungjong looked around first which made the girls hide before looking back and he was gone. Sungjong was fast but he left the tip of the letter hanging, which gave the girls the opportunity to grab his letter.
They collected Sungjong's handwritings. They tried to compare his letter for Myungsoo and the letter they asked him to write and bingo, it matched! But it was too weak. They need stronger evidence. They then collected every athletes statement about his "cancelled project" and even went to Myungsoo's house, which they found out later, and asked Myungsoo's brother by showing a picture of Sungjong if he had been there. He said yes and they filmed the time they asked him.
When it seems like everything was on their side, they overheard the officers talking about the campaign.
"President, how about Sungjong? Where is he?"
The President sighed. "He's out of the Student Coucil about a month ago. I wanted him to tell you himself but, I guess this is how it goes."
The girls calculated the time he's still doing the "project" and by the time he was dismissed from his position, he was still doing things for Myungsoo. They were getting ready to expose him and they waited until the day they finally organized everything and proved it among theirselves that Sungjong was indeed, the Guardian Angel.
They started posting posters around the campus saying,
"Find out who Kim Myungsoo's "Guardian Angel" is, A.K.A STALKER. Gym. 5 P.M"
The girls were starting to plan going there after school while Sungjong has no idea. He had been feeling down and nervous all day, he doesn't even know why.
Hoya and Woohyun started running to Sungjong while he just got out of the room.
"Sungjoooooooong! You have to see this!" Hoya and Woohyun was panicking.
"What time is it?!" Woohyun asked.
"It's 5:16PM!" Hoya exclaimed.
"We have to hurry!"
They ran to the gym and found a huge amount of students listening to the girls at the middle and suddenly turning their heads toward them.
"Well, if it isn't the one and only "Guardian Angel"! We've been expecting you." The leader of the girls smirked. The students all gasped and wondered who among them were the stalker.
"Who else? Our very own Auditor, I mean...EX-AUDITOR, right? Lee Sungjong?"
Everyone started whispering, athletes scoffed and girls started glaring. The leader then started speaking as if Sungjong was in a court trial. "Were you or were you not dismissed from your position, for faking the cancellation of your project which was meant to help athletes for their projects but turned into a special treatment for Kim Myungsoo?" she said as she pointed out Myungsoo in the crowd.
Myungsoo's face was hard to distinguish. Sungjong wasn't sure what Myungsoo felt at the moment. All he knew was he was shaking and he was on the verge of tears. Woohyun and Hoya encouraged him behind and told him it's time to tell everyone.
"Yes."
And then, everyone started talking in disbelief.
"Wow! A supposedly Student Council Auditor broke his own project and rules for Kim Myungsoo! Hmm, okay. What else? Did you or did you not go to his house to deliver his project right to their doorstep, which by the way, isn't part of the deal?"
Sungjong can't talk any longer. He was just staring at Myungsoo. His reactions were mixed that he can't read it. It was from curious to disbelief and he somehow felt like Myungsoo was disgusted.
"Answer Lee Sungjong!" The girl yelled.
"Yes! Yes, okay?! I did!" Sungjong yelled back.
The girl started approaching him. She held out a proof of Sungjong's handwriting together with the letter he gave to Myungsoo, which he never received because the girls took it. "Isn't this yours?" She asked. "Isn't this your handwriting?"
"That doesn't prove anything." Sungjong looked at her in the eyes.
"Maybe it doesn't. For you. Let me ask everyone what they think about it." She held the letter together with Sungjong's handwritings. "Doesn't it look too similar? Let me read the content as well. Dear Myungsoo, this letter will be a little different from other letters. One question. Do you think I'm creepy?" the girl stopped reading and laughed. "Of course you are creepy, Sungjong." she said in a sweet, sarcastic voice. "I'm sorry if you don't like the way I approach you and if you think it's pathetic. Sorry if you think what i'm doing is stupid and..."
"Wait!" Myungsoo interrupted. He grabbed the letter and read it. "I never received this. But...Sungjong." he faced Sungjong and looked him in the eyes. "Isn't this what I told you? About how I feel for this person?"
The students all said "Ohh" in unison. The truth was coming out that it was unbearable for Sungjong.
"Sungjong." the girl interrupted Myungsoo. "Just tell us. Are you the Guardian Angel who stalks him, does project for him and knows exactly what's going on in his life? Who created the huge valentine surprise for our one and only Myungsoo? The one who spends a lot of his time for Myungsoo and only Myungsoo? Is it you?!"
Sungjong was shaking specially with Myungsoo in front of him, waiting for his answer.
"By the way..." the girl smiled and showed everyone the clip of Myungsoo's brother and once again, the students went wild. "NOW TELL US, LEE SUNGJONG! ARE YOU THE GUARDIAN ANGEL?" the girl yelled.
Sungjong cannot take it anymore. Everything feels like it's compressing him, he cannot take it any longer.
"YES!" He exclaimed.
And with his answer, the students went wild again.
"Yes, I am the Guardian Angel who's been following Myungsoo around and does his projects for him. I am that stalker who gives him letters and snacks and basically everything that I have. Yes, I am a stalker if that's what you all want to hear and call me. But let me ask you." he faced the girl. "Am I the only one who spends his time for Myungsoo? Am I the only one who's crazy for him? You all are sugar coating when all this time I'm not the only one obsessed with him!" he said while pointing out every girls in the room as well.
The girls went wild. They were all in disbelief with what Sungjong said, maybe because he also said the truth about every girls in the school.
"But we didn't go all the way like you for him. You risked a Student Council position. You went to his house. You did something which was abiding the Student Council's law. You did a supposedly project for all athletes into something for Kim Myungsoo only. We gave letters to him, you had to sneak into his locker. You knew everything and when I say everything, EVERYTHING. Am I wrong?"
The girls started to attack Sungjong with words and they were about to attack to him physically when a tall student blocked him and pulled him away further from the crowd. Hoya and Woohyun blocked him too and fought with other girls.
"Everybody calm down!" And with the tall student's voice, everyone stopped talking.
The tall student glared at everyone before he started talking. "Let me all ask you. Who among you doesn't like Kim Myungsoo?"
Nobody raised their hand.
"Exactly. Who among you didn't give Kim Myungsoo a letter?"
Again, nobody raised their hand.
"See? You over there." he pointed the girl. "You showed a clip earlier. You were at Kim Myungsoo's house. How did you find out where he live? Sungjong probably broke the rules and saw it on the records, so that's how he knew. But I was wondering how you found it."
The girl can't answer the tall student.
"Also, all these evidences you presented, you had to sneek in or do something in order to collect all of these because obviously, it can't just arrive at your doorstep. You have to look for these."
The gym was quiet.
"All I wanted to point out is all of you are being hypocrites. You all are angry at Lee Sungjong for something you're doing yourselves. Maybe the difference was he used his power for Myungsoo which we all know is wrong. But before you go on and attack him, judge him and criticize him, look at yourselves first because I'm pretty sure every single one of you are all the same, it just differs on the amount of effort you exert for this person." He said then glared at Kim Myungsoo. "You have your own power to control these girls and not let them attack one person who obviously adores you. Look at it the other way and when you all are calmed down, give him a chance to explain his side." the tall student said.
Woohyun, Hoya and the tall student grabbed Sungjong out of the gym and comforted him. He was in shock the whole time that the only time he broke down was when they were finally out of the gym. Hoya and Woohyun gave him all the words of encouragement they could give while the tall student waited at the corner.
"You're a smooth talker. Want to calm him down?" Hoya asked.
The student approached him. "Hi auditor." he smiled.
"Ex." Sungjong continued sniffing.
"Hmm. I guess it's hard for you to remember me because of all your admirers.
Sungjong looked at him, puzzled. "Do I look like I have one?"
"Hmm-mm. Apparently, the students from Class 1 thinks so."
Hoya and Woohyun both clapped in excitement. "Is he famous in your class?" they both asked in unison. The student nodded. "Flower boy Sungjong." he smiled. "Well, it's just sad that you can't remember me. You saw me once outside the school when you were just wearing..." he covered his mouth before he could continue. Sungjong stopped for a moment and looked up. "You're that..."
The student giggled. "Yes. I know it was you." He cleared his throat and held out his hand.
"Hi, I'm Lee Sungyeol."
