A Different Step

Gui Gui’s POV

It has been almost two years and three weeks since that day…. that day that I have regretted… I haven’t seen his sweet, his wonderfully sweet face since that day. That was the day that me and Aaron broke-up. I remember it like it was yesterday, I remembered every word that he said to me that last day.

FLASHBACK

Two years and three weeks ago

A: Hey babe I’m going out for a while!!!

G: Where are you doing to go?

A: Uhmm Hebe and I are going to watch a movie…

G: Oh again? (sigh)

A: Yeah… but it’s okay because you are going shopping with Ya Tou and Mei Mei later on right?

G: Yeah but… (gets cut off)

A: Sorry Gui I have to go I’m running late and Hebe is going to kill me if I’m late again (gives her a kiss and dashes out of the door)

Two years and two weeks ago

G: Where were you?!

A: I was at Hebe’s it was late and I was too tired to drive so I just spent the
night!

G: Why are you always spending time with her?!

A: Is that so wrong that I spend time with my friends and not every second of my life with you?

G: If you want so spend so much time with Hebe then why don’t you just move in with her then?!

A: Fine I will then!!!

G: Go ahead see if I care!!!

A: Fine!!! I will and so I guess that means that we are breaking-up then!?!?!?!?!?

G: FINE!!!

Aaron walks out of the room and slams the front door on his way out. He gets into his car and drives away. (guess where he is going to?) Watching Aaron drive away Gui Gui fell on to her knees crying and curled herself into a ball until she fell asleep.

Two years and one week ago

Gui Gui was watching tv at Ya Tou’s house

YT: Hey isn’t that Aaron?

G: What? What are you taking about?

YT: Look he is on tv doing some type of interview.

TV

Reporter 1: Aaron, is it true that you and Gui Gui are not together anymore?

Reporter 2: Are the rumors true that you are living with a girl named Hebe Tian now and not your girlfriend Gui Gui

Aaron paused for a moment

A: Yes, these are all true but just let the recode show that I'm not Gui Gui's boyfriend any more. Also that she was the one that wanted to brake up with me. Thank you please no more questions.

YT: He already moved out of your guys place?

G: Yeah he gathered his stuff yesterday when I was at the office

YT: Oh I see

G: Yeah… well it’s about time that I get to the air port. My flight will be leaving soon and I don’t want to get stuck in traffic

YT: You know that you don’t have to leave, you can just switch schools and I switch with you

G: Of course not I know that you and your new found boyfriend Mao Di just started to going out and I wouldn’t want to separate you two

YT: But…

G: No buts pleas Ya Tou

YT: So let me ask you something?

G: What?

YT: Why do you have to go all the way to the States then?

G: Because there is nothing here for me anymore… Aaron (pauses to hold back her tears) he has already moved on and so do I

YT: But it has only been two weeks how do you know he has moved on?

G: I think I know him well enough to see that he has moved on from me

YT: Fine… let’s get you to the airport.

At the airport

YT: Gui Gui you better call me when you land okay?

G: Okay I will…

YT: And you better make sure that you stay in touch; have to call me at least once a week

G: Don’t worry I will

YT: Wait so what will I tell the others if they ask where you went?

G: Just tell them the truth… that I went to the States

YT: Okay then, I’ll try and visit you when it’s vacation

G: Okay… well I have to get going now…

Ya Tou and Gui Gui give each other one last hug and waves good-bye to each other

END OF FLASHBACK

Gui Gui’s POV (thinking)
UGH Gui Gui why do you up yourself through this every time on this day… so what if today was our anniversary… that is all in the past…

All of a sudden Gui Gui felt a pair of arms around her waist

???: Hey baby the movie is going to start

G: Oh okay then… (sighing)

???: Are you okay babe?

G: I’m always great when you are around me…

???: Aww you are so cute when you do that… (kisses her on the cheek)

G: (giggles) Hey remember that we have to pick up my friend Ya Tou and her boyfriend Mao Di tomorrow okay?

???: Okay… don’t worry I’ll remember… now come on lets go before the movie starts…

G: (laughs) Okay… okay… I’m coming… I’m coming…
