Some New Steps

The sun was still setting while they were setting off for the restaurant. There was silence between Aaron and Gui Gui while they were walking. Gui Gui’s hand was at her side while one of Aaron’s hands was in his pocket and the other was on his side. While they were walking their hands had accidentally touched, in that split second they had felt a spark of energy that had traveled through their whole body.

A: Sorry… (blushing)

G: For what? (also blushing)

A: For all of things that Hebe said to you at Jiro’s house

G: Oh… (disappointed) no don’t worry about it…

A: I’m also for what happened two… (gets cut off)

G: Can we please not talk about that?

A: Okay

There was again silence between them. In a few minutes they had come one of Aaron’s favorite restaurants. Aaron had opened the door for Gui Gui and walked to were the hostess was.

A: Hi there can I get a table for two please?

Host: Do you have a reservation?

A: Yes, it’s under Aaron Yan

Host: Oh yes I see you right here… right this way please (leads them to a table)

Gui Gui’s POV
Did he plan to do this? Why would her have a reservation if he only found out that I came back today? I wonder….?

A: Gui?

G: Oh, yeah what?

A: Nothing it just looks like you were wonder off into your own world

G: Oh no it was just thinking of something

A: Oh…

There was some silence between them (again) while they were looking for the food that they wanted to eat.

Waitress: Are you guys ready to order?

A: Uhm… I am are you done yet Gui?

G: Oh yeah I am… I would like to get house special (hands the menu over to the waitress)

A: I’ll get the same thing (also hands the menu to the waitress)

Waitress: Okay coming right up (walks away)

A: So…

G: So what?

A: So how have you been lately?

G: Hum… good I guess (giving a half smile)

A: Well that’s good

G: How about you?

A: Oh… well not so good…

G: What? Why happened?

A: Well I know this person that we use to get along really well until I realized that this person had changed from what I thought this person was. Now all me and this person does is argue all of the time and now I’m thinking about this other friend that I have and well lets just say that even this person and I are not on such good terms but I hope that this person will forgive me and give me a second chance.

Gui Gui had understood what Aaron was trying to say, she lowered her head to block Aaron’s view of Gui Gui’s eyes that were about to burst out with tears but she used everything thing in her to hold it back. Still using her strength to hold back her tears Gui Gui looked Aaron dead in the eye and could see that he was very much serious with what he had said. Just then the waitress had come to their table and given them their food. For the rest of the dinner Aaron and Gui Gui didn’t talk to each other.

At Jiro’s House

WZ: What is taking Gui Gui so long? It’s already night time…
MM: Why don’t you try and calling her Wang Zi?

WZ: Your right… He grabs his phone out of his pocket and dialed Gui Gui’s number, nothing it had just went straight to voice mail.

CH: So did it go thought?

WZ: No it didn’t, it just went straight to voice mail

YT: Maybe she turned off her phone so get some peace and quite for a while…

WZ: A while? It is already 8:37 pm how much more time does she need to think

E: Well maybe her phone had just run out of battery…

WZ: Well you have a point there…?

J: Don’t worry she will be back soon…

CA: Yeah, Gui Gui knows this place like the back of her hand.

WZ: Well… you have a point there

MD: You know that we all should be getting home

YT: Yeah it’s getting really late

MD: Gui Gui know the address of the condo right?

WZ: Yeah I wrote it down for her

MD: Well then she can take a cab there when she is ready to go back, or she might be already there

WZ: Well I guess so…

YT: Okay then every one we’ll see you tomorrow

MD: Yeah thanks for having us over

WZ: It was nice meeting you all

H: Hey wait… can I talk to you for a while Wang Zi?

WZ: Why?

H: I just need to talk to you…

WZ: Maybe some other day… we have to get going already

H: Never mind then (disappointed)

So then Wang Zi, Ya Tou and Mao Di say their final good-byes and headed out to go home

At the restaurant

A: So did you like the food?

G: Yup… it was great

A: I’m glad you liked it

G: Aaron can I ask you something?

A: Yeah, sure I guess so?

G: Hum… how come you already have dinner reservations for this restaurant?

A: Well I was going to take Hebe out for dinner for the fight that we had yesterday but she just really got on my nerves today so I took you instead…

G: It kind of sound like you two fight a lot?

A: Is it that obvious?

G: A little…

A: Well yeah we do…

G: Well it’s getting let we should get going

A: Your right it’s getting late

So Gui Gui and Aaron walk out of the restaurant. Aaron the just realized that he and Gui Gui have walked here and he doesn’t have his car with him.

A: Shoot… I left my car at Jiro’s house

G: Don’t worry I can walk home from here, it’s not that far

A: No, no I’ll walk with you; it’s not good for a girl to walk home by herself at this time of night…

G: Well if you want to… (starts to walk off)

Aaron runs to catch up to her. They didn’t talk when they were walking to Gui Gui’s place. They had just enjoyed each others company, just like the old times that they use to have.

G: Well we’re here

A: Wow

G: What?

A: I live in these condos also

G: Really?

A: Yup

G: Well I guess you can walk me up

A: Sure

At Jiro’s house

CA: Hey Jiro can I sleep at your house for tonight? Aaron left with the car keys and I don’t feel like walking home

J: Yeah sure, you can sleep in the guest room

CA: Thanks bro

J: No problem

MM: I wonder where Aaron had go to?

E: Yeah me too

CH: Maybe he was with Gui

E: Well they could have been together…

MM: Well where ever they are I hope they are safe
J: Aww… my girlfriend is so cute… you always worry about everyone

MM: Well when I am I suppose to do? Hope that they are in danger or something?

J: No… that’s not what I meant

MM: Well then what do you mean?

J: What I meant was that you care about your friends a lot and that you look cute what you do that

MM: Sure…

J: Really that was what I meant…

CH: Haha you guys are so funny, but we have to get going…

E: Yeah see you guys tomorrow… Mei Mei make sure that Ya Tou brings Gui Gui and Wang Zi with them tomorrow

MM: Okay, I’ll make sure

CH: Well I guess we’ll all see each other tomorrow

J: Okay then bye

MM: Drive safely!

E: We will don’t worry… (they walk out of the house)

CA: How about you Hebe aren’t you going home?

H: Yeah I guess so… I’ll just go and call a cab

J: Okay then…hey are you going to be there tomorrow

H: No I don’t think so… I have some things to do

MM: Okay then (leads Hebe out of the house)

CA: What did you do that for?

MM: What?

CA: Just lead her out like that? Her cab didn’t even come yet

MM: Well I couldn’t take it any more… you know how much I hate her for what she did to Aaron and Gui Gui

CA: Still yet you shouldn’t have done that, and I still don’t see why you and Ya Tou are mad at her

MM: Okay I’ll give you an example…

CA: Fine

MM: Okay say that you were going out with a girl and then Jiro take her way from you how would you feel?

CA: I’d be mad

MM: See, we are mad at Hebe because she took Aaron away form Gui Gui

CA: Okay now see what you are trying to get at… but I still say that wasn’t nice

MM: (glaring at Calvin) Why are you trying to defend her?

CA: Hum..ummm nothing I’m just saying

MM: Are you sure? (still glaring at him)

CA: Yup (putting on a fake smile) Well I’m going to bed good night (runs upstairs)

MM: I’ll find out the truth sooner or later!!!

J: Let it go babe… he is just trying to be a good friend

I hope that Mei Mei doesn’t find out that I like Hebe…
