"Did you find it?"

Both Yunho and Ji Ajhumma look at the exasperated Jihye.

"Does it look like we found it Mom?" Yunho snaps because he has to leave for work in 15 minutes and his mother has him treasure hunting needlessly. Ji Ajhumma quietly slips away to check on the food she has cooking away on the stove leaving the irritable mother and son pair in the walk-in closet.

"You're not looking properly!" Jihye retorts.

"Mom, why will I have the album here?"

"It's your baby album. I remember sending it with all your stuff when you moved here."

"I don't remember seeing it here."

"You always forget where you keep anything. I can't believe you're a doctor with that head." There's that ego bruising line to end all lines again. His mother always shuts him up with that line.

"Well, it's not in our closet."

Jihye gives the closet a look when realisation dawned on her. "You guys haven't really done much decorating in the house have you? Only Minnie's room is done up."

It takes Yunho a heartbeat before he says, tad defensively, "It's practical to keep everything minimal. Besides I don't have that much time nor does Jae have that much strength. I'd rather let her use what little energy she has to spend time with Min."

"But this is really impersonal! Are you really fine with your son growing up in a house that has no signs of his mother and father? This is not a hotel room for crying out loud!" She stomps out of the closet and looks around the dull room. "This is worse than a hotel. It's a dreary hospital! Why are you so hell bent on being sickly dull. Not only do you have nothing around, I can't even find any sign that Jaejoong even lives here. Where'd you keep all her stuff?"

Yunho sighs and has her follow him to a spare room down the hall. It was meant to be a study but it's looking more like a store room. "She didn't have much stuff to begin with. It's all been here the entire time." Yunho points at three boxes behind the door.

"That's it?" Jihye peeks inside one box and sees a few books and a few photographs in old frames. "Did she leave everything behind?"

"Jae sold her parents’ home and most of her stuff to pay for her bucket list trip. All she has left is her parents’ memorabilia." It appears so, as Jihye looks at the photographs. They look like Jaejoong's parents and from when Jaejoong was in school.

Jaejoong seemed to have a fairly normal life. It must have been a lot for her to be diagnosed with heart disease and lose her father suddenly. But she doesn’t agree with her line of thought. Jihye honestly found it stupid that she'd die for people who don't care about her. No one's happier that Jaejoong is alive than Jung Jihye and she'll make sure that Jaejoong will never lose that will to live.

"I was wondering... if Joongie was going to go ahead with the surgery, how was she going to afford it?"

Yunho smiles wistfully remembering that time Kim Jaejoong was just a patient. "It was already decided between me and her personal doctor that the surgery would be pro bono. It was the least we could do for the daughter of a man who donated all his organs for her sake. But Jaejoong didn't care either way, so..."

"We all have idiotic phases in our lives." Jihye mutters looking inside a box. This had a stack of thick and wide notebooks, something Jihye is familiar with as a designer.

"What are those?" Yunho, who's seeing them for the first time, picks up one book. He opens it to the first page and finds a lakeside drawn in colour pencils.

"Is this Jaejoong's?" Jihye whispers in awe. Yunho turns the next page where a sketch of a woman with a lovely smile is on it. "That's..." Jihye looks at the photograph in her hand of a woman carrying a toddler Jaejoong in her arms, "Jaejoong's mother."

"I knew she worked at an art gallery. But I didn't know she drew herself."

"Have you ever asked her about it?"

"I'm going to now?"

Yunho struts downstairs with the sketchbook, Jihye in tow.

Jaejoong is on the floor of their living room helping Changmin drink his glass of milk. They are surrounded by toys and crayons from Changmin's playtime while the TV in the front was tuned into some cartoon show.

"Jae, look what we found!" Yunho brandishes the dusty book that Jaejoong recognises instantly.

"Oh my god! I had forgotten all about them." She puts the glass aside and takes her book. "This brings back memories." She giggles seeing Changmin lean over the book enraptured by the sketch of a pretty woman, "That's your Halmeoni. I drew her out of memory."

Changmin may not fully grasp what his mother said, but he likes this pretty woman’s face that looks like his mother. “Pwetty~” He picks at her smile and flashes his mother a gap-toothed grin.

"Did you draw a lot Joongie?" Jihye asks.

"It was just a hobby. But it helped me get a job at the art gallery right out of high school."

Both Jihye and Yunho exchange a look. "You've been working straight out of high school?" Yunho's voice tells her that this is one of those things they're discovering about themselves very late into their relationship. They really need to talk more, Jaejoong reckons.

"Yeah... we were kind of tight on money since my parents quit their jobs after.... We moved to this suburban neighbourhood outside the city and dad taught in my high school. But he was putting off retirement. So I decided to take a pass on college and work right away. My classmate got me a job at his mother's art gallery right away, so dad was able to retire too. I quit a few months after I became manager. So my friend was quite shocked."

"Why? Did he have a crush on you?" That earned Yunho a pinch from Jihye. "Don't you have to get to work?" Jihye glowers at her son much to Jaejoong's amusement. "I will. But first let we’ve got to talk about this."

"Yunho, I have no idea if he had crush on me!" Jaejoong says as convincingly as possible though she's sure Yunho won't let go of it so easily.

"I meant your art. Aren’t you going to draw again?”

Jaejoong gets quite thoughtful at Yunho’s question. She’d be lying if she said she never had the urge to pick up a pencil or a paintbrush recently. But that inspiration would die as quickly as it came. Sometimes she feels she creates these obstacles in her own mind.

Jihye can sense her inhibitions and she knows exactly how it feels. “You should try drawing again Joongie. I know how great it feels to have a creative outlet.” That reminds Jaejoong that her mother-in-law used to be a designer till she sold her brand and retired from fashion. “I was quite fortunate to succeed doing what I love. Now, you don’t have to necessarily make a living out of it. But it’s a great way to stay connected with yourself.”

Jihye makes a valid point. She does miss painting. And it’s not like she’s got much to do around the house.

“Umma colour~” Changmin squeaks and before they knew it, he’s scribbling blue crayon lines over the sketch of Jaejoong’s mother.

“Eep!” Jihye yanks the book away much too late. Yunho and Jihye looks at the long crayon and cringe in unison.

Their expression makes Changmin realize he did something wrong and his eyes well up. “But… colour nice~” he tries to reason because the drawing was just too boring in black and white. He thought some colour will make it pop.

“It’s okay Minnie. I can draw your Halmeoni any time.” Jaejoong gets her sulky baby in her lap and cuddles him till he’s giggly again.

“Does that mean you’re going to take up art again?” Yunho asks, just for confirmation. It made him extremely happy when Jaejoong nods. “Okay then! I’ll take you
