"Vitals are good. Everything is stable. A few days' rest and you'll be perfectly fine."

"Song, I'm a doctor. I know what I need."

Yunho peels off the tapes where the IVs were earlier. Anyone who sees them on him is bound to be worried. He snatches his reports from his colleague a little rudely, but the other understands the man is quite agitated. "Just tell me which room my wife is in."

Song Hyesung sighs, "You need to ask her doctor first."

"Fine. I'll ask Dara."

"Your wife wants you to stay here." The harsh glare the cardiologist pins him with tells Hyesung that he doesn't agree. "She wants you to get better first. And... Dara wants to talk to you before that."

Yunho groans knowing that inevitable talk is coming. He refuses to look up from his own file even as Hyesung lets Dara in. "Give up. You're not fooling anyone." Dara grabs the file and flings it on the desk beside them. Hyesung steps out after warning them not to lose their cool. "Are you better now?"

"I was perfectly fine."

"When EMTs find the very person who called them collapsed next to his wife, it's not a standard for 'perfectly fine.'"

"Can you just get on with explaining what happened to Jaejoong!?"

"You know what happened."

"If I knew, I wouldn't have let this happen!"

"You know that's not what I meant."

"But it's the truth! I didn't know she was pregnant. This is the second time I failed as a doctor to my own family."

"You did not Yunho." Dara drops her voice when Hyesung hushes them on the other side of the door. "It was less than a month along. Even Jaejoong didn't know. Besides, you're exhausted. You were at your limit and you missed the signs. Happens to the best of us."

Dara takes a seat on the chair opposite him. "I just want to give you a message from Jaejoong. She doesn't want your son to know what happened."

"I wasn't planning to tell him either. He doesn't need to be worried about this."

"And what about Jaejoong? I told you both when your son was born didn't I. If Jaejoong got pregnant again, she wouldn't be able to carry a baby to full term."

"We weren't planning to have another child. We are careful every time. But it just happened."

"You think I don't know that. I'm an obstetrician Jung. 50% of the time it ‘just happens.’" Dara is feeling anxious and she paces about to shake off some of that pressure. "She only has you during this time. This woman has gone from being prepared to die for her baby to be born, to not wanting to leave her son. Jaejoong is not a doctor and she doesn't see the science of it like we do. And this to her feels like the time she thought she almost lost Changmin. She's relieved, Yunho. She's glad she lost an unborn child over losing her life and leaving her son and husband behind. That was her first emotion when I told her she had a miscarriage. And now she's guilty and hating herself for feeling that way."

If Yunho is honest, he's no different. Being glad about losing their unborn child does not feel right but he'd rather not endanger Jaejoong's life. "What do I do...?"

"You have to tell her it's okay. That's all. I know you're physically exhausted being the one strong beating heart for two very precious, very delicate hearts. But no one can do what you do for them." Her tiny hands barely squeeze his broad shoulders, but the sentiment is there. "You're amazing you know."

He really shouldn't be like this, but a little fluffing to his ego does help and he manages to crack a smile. "Stop flirting with me. We're both married."

"Good Lord!" That same comforting hand smacks him on the shoulder.

Hyesung knocks on the door and opens it then, "Dr. Jung, there's someone here to see you." He opens the door wide to let in a boy.

"Hi Appa." Yunho is surprised to see Changmin there. When he managed to call Hana right before school ended, he specifically told her to not let Changmin know about his mother's illness. Instead, he let her tell him it was Yunho who was sick. He was going to allow Changmin to visit when they were not worse for wear. "Min, aren't you supposed to be at Kyuhyun's now?"

"I'll head there later. I was honestly feeling a little sick." Changmin rubs his chest where anxiety is giving him a throbbing pain. He eyes the female doctor he's met in one party with his parents and wonders why she's here. "Where's Umma?"

Dara panics, because really why would an obstetrician be checking on a guy hospitalized for extreme exhaustion. And Yunho knows she doesn't know what Hana told Changmin. In a hurry, he blurts a random thought. "She's waiting... in...uh...the room... they'll move me to later."

"I should go. Yunho, we'll discuss my patient with the heart condition when you're better." Dara thinks being unnecessarily detailed is more suspicious but she's saying whatever to leave as fast as she can. Which she does, in two rapid steps and out of the room.

With just the two of them, Yunho beckons Changmin to sit on the chair Dara was sitting on earlier. "First day at the new school gave you jitters?"

"Not really. I've been feeling weird for a few days."

"Sorry I didn't notice."

"It's okay. I know you're tired too." Changmin twiddles his thumbs. If he was not jittery about school, he is jittery now. "I'm sorry... I wanted to reduce your burden. But I was useles-"

"you didn't do anything to apologise about. Your intentions made me happy."

"You didn't do anything to apologise for either Appa."

Yunho smiles, feeling relaxed for the first time in days. He sometimes rues that Changmin matured faster than they'd like. But he's perfect in every way and they wouldn't change a single thing about him. "So, what's troubling you exactly?"

"I get occasional painful reminders that there's a heart. You know, not like you regular folk with silently working hearts." Changmin rubs his chest again, more out of habit now. "It feels like I ran a 5k when it acts up."

"It's telling you're overworked and stressed. Which you have no reason to." Yunho picks up Hyesung's notepad and scribbles something on it. "We're going to have to learn how to function without Ji Ajhumma without either one of us needing medical attention. That means you need to only concern yourself with your studies and health. Your mother and I will take care of the rest."

"We'll all be fine. I'm going to make sure of that. So we can fix your heart perfectly by your 15th birthday."
