"Umma! Look who's here." Changmin bounces into the kitchen holding a bag of groceries. Behind him, a woman enters the kitchen carrying another bag.

"Morning! I'm back."

Jaejoong, who was seated at the dining table and chopping vegetables, brightened up seeing the woman. "Misun-ssi! You're back early!" Jaejoong said, mid-glaring at Changmin for stealing the chopped carrots. He however made up for it by sitting beside her and taking over the vegetable cutting.

"Yup. My husband got a clean bill of health, so he's back at work. I'd get bored staying at home for two more weeks. So I came back to work too. And I got everything to make bulgogi." Misun emptied out the grocery bags on the table before placing each item in the kitchen.

"You'll have to double the quantities Noona. We're having guests over for lunch." Changmin gestures to the variety of vegetables they were chopping.

"Is it the Kyu-line? I could make cookies too."

"It's not the boys today." Jaejoong left her perch to help Misun. "We'll have to take a raincheck on the bulgogi too. I marinated the pork an hour ago. I was going to wait for Yunho, but..."

"I got it." Misun checked on the pork in a tray. "Is it your cheat day."

"It's for the guests. I made myself an exclusive soup today."

"I'm surprised to see you working in the kitchen too. I expected Yunho-ssi to handle everything while I'm on leave. He even refused a temporary replacement saying he can manage till I'm back. That reminds me..." Misun clasped Jaejoong's hand. Changmin watches silently without doing anything to make them conscious. "Thank you for helping us. I thought I'd lost my husband when that car hit him. But Yunho-ssi and the other doctors saved his life. And the therapists he introduced us to also brought Taewoo back on his feet again."

"Oh that's alright! It's the least we could do after all your mother did for us. And even you, we'd be lost without you."

"But you're looking a lot more active now. What changed?"

"Quite a lot."

"Well, cooking that pork will take a while even with both of us."

Jaejoong agrees, first shooing off Changmin after telling him to clean his room for the nth time. She rolls her eyes when she hears the TV upstairs. Why did Yunho give him his own TV?

"When you're free, I could really use your help fixing the third floor. I've been using it as my painting studio but it's too filthy for anything really."

"Didn't my mom and your mother-in-law decorate it?"

"Yeah, but we never looked after it. Especially since both of them passed away."

"No problem. I'll get Taewoo to help."

"And Kyuline will be free labour."

"Cheap labour you mean. We'll still have to feed those boys."

"The Kyuline just got bigger you know. My nephew transferred to their school this year."

"Nephew? I didn't know you had any extended family."

"Yeah well..." Jaejoong begins recounting her family history to Misun.

Ji Ajhumma never knew about it and there was never a reason or occasion to tell her. Misun wouldn't have known either had circumstances not changed. But Misun is as understanding and non-judgmental as Jaejoong expected Ji Ajhumma would have been. By the end of it, Jaejoong is exhausted from working.

"Take a break. You need to regain some strength before your sisters are here." Misun takes over for Jaejoong, letting her take a break in the bedroom. She had exhausted herself more than she thought having woken up early with Yunho. He's consulting on a rare case in a different hospital today and will be back before lunch.

He was supposed to be on main cooking duty today. But Jaejoong wanted to get as much of the cooking prep done so he's not too tired.

But she's glad now that Misun is back. She can now get comfortable in bed and sketch in her book. However, a couple of minutes in and she dozed off.

An hour later, Yunho returns to find her sleeping diagonally across the bed. He checks on her to make sure she's fine, positions her properly on her side and tucks her under the comforter.

Yunho changed into something more comfortable and stepped out of the room as quietly as possible, but leaving the door open just in case. Changmin had been by the door since Yunho arrived and waits till his father is walking downstairs.

"Umma's fine right?" Yunho answers his question with a smile and pat on his back. That's so not satisfactory for the teen. "Seriously! She's not going to get a again right? This whole thing sounded great at first. But Umma gets-"

"Changmin..." Yunho cuts him mid-rant. "Your Umma is fine. She was fine before her last too. That was the first one she had since you were born. We cannot predict these things. But we can take care of her."

"But..."

"Look Min, your mother has made amazing progress these past few days. She used to break a sweat just going to the living room. And in a month her stamina is lasting at least an hour. She's doing things I know she missed... like cooking. Isn't that great?" Changmin nods reluctantly. "Let your Umma live. There's now a bigger family, Misun-ssi, you and me to take care of her. Especially me. You know I'm a ‘bloody good’ doctor. Just have faith in me."

Changmin very moodily nods again. "I already do." Yunho ruffles his hair and pulls him to the living room just in time for the awaited doorbell ringing.

"I got it!" Changmin runs to the door and throws it open excitedly. "Hi!" He's close to bouncing on his feet as he lets in his two aunts and pair of cousins in. Well, they don't get many guests at home and he's bored of seeing his Kyuline gang's silly mugs.

"Hi! We got pudding." Junsu shows the dish wrapped in cling wrap. Out of nowhere, an unknown women strolls out of the kitchen with hands outstretched for the dish.

"Hello! I'll take that."

But Junsu is a little flustered by the new face. "This is Misun noona. She takes care of us." Changmin supplies, "her mother took care of us since I was born."

"Hello. I'm Junsu." She introduces herself to the housekeeper, now that she's not unfamiliar with this person, while handing her the dish before pointing at Heechul behind her. "That's Heechul, her son Minho and my daughter, Sooyoung." Heechul and Minho greet her while Soyoung is busy trying to go to Changmin from Minho's arms.

"Hi guys." Yunho greets them from the end of the entryway. "Come on in already."

The crowd moves inside with Misun slipping back into the kitchen. Minho passes Sooyoung to Junsu and the two boys run off to Changmin's room. Sooyoung though is not happy about being left by her brothers. "Maaa~ oppaaa~" she cries to her mother. Junsu pulls out the kiddy tablet toy from her bag and puts it in front of Sooyoung, effectively distracting her.

It gives Heechul and Junsu the chance to look around. "Where's Jaejoong?" Heechul demands.

"Asleep. She sort of pushed herself to her limits cooking today."

"It's not too bad is it?" Yunho is internally amused that Junsu looks a lot like Changmin right now. That confirms that his son really takes after Jaejoong's side of the family.

"She's fine. She'll probably be recharged after lunch."

"So..." Heechul begins, "this is your house... I sort of remember seeing your mom's house for... the wedding preparations."

Neither Junsu nor Yunho are fazed by the mention of the wedding though. "We moved in here a few days after Min was born. As for mom's house, I sold it years ago. She was not the type to hang on to anything."

"This place is nice too." Junsu doesn't want the conversation to go to her almost wedding again, "Though, for some reason, I pictured a white picket scenario with a lot more open space for heart patients like Jaejoong and Changmin."

"Mom used to say the same too. But it's not that bad. I honestly got the house closest to the hospital and ticked all the boxes. Though, I will admit, three floors are a bit much."

Heechul walks around the living room while they talk. She looks at the handful of photographs on the walls, mostly of a little Changmin. There's a picture of Yunho and Jaejoong with Jihye on their wedding day judging from Jaejoong's white dress. There's another old photograph of a young Jaejoong with whom Heechul recognizes as their father. He loo
