2014. New Year's Eve. 

Soojung spent New Year's eve in Liz' house backyard, with barbeque and beers and old friends and long talks about the past. 

This is where I belong, she thought, this is home.

Everyone counted when it was almost midnight. Liz' father and brother prepared some fireworks to lit after the countdown.

Soojung prayed for 2015 to be a better year, for everyone she loved to be healthy and happy. She prayed for no one to leave her again.

"Soojung-ah." Nate stood beside her, offering her a glass of beer. Soojung gladly accepted, and together they stood side by side, watching everyone who was laughing and talking and counting together to a new year. "It's really nice to see a lot of friendly faces." Soojung said, taking a sip of her beer. 

"It's really nice to see you again, Nate."

"It's really nice to see you too, Soojung." Nate called her the night after their reunion lunch last weekend, and they met for lunch during his lunch break all week. He was a nice guy, and he was here, Soojung thought. A little get together wouldn't hurt anyone, right?

"You know I've always liked you, right?"

Soojung was taken aback with his confession. She looked up to see Nate staring into her eyes. "Since elementary school." he said slowly, afraid to hurt her feelings.

"Until now?" She asked. 

"Maybe." he said. 

"Maybe?"

"Probably." Nate said, looking at his feet, cheeks and ears as red as tomato.

"Thank you."
