Jin had walked her back to her apartment, right up to the apartment door. “Don’t go wandering into gaps, ok Soojung? We’ll teach you more about gaps tomorrow,” he said, his hands on her shoulders, a worried expression again. He looked a lot more tired than when she saw him earlier in the afternoon.
“I won’t. I’ll see you tomorrow,” Soojung said as she waved goodbye to Jin.
As she did, her roommate who had been sitting lazily on the couch said, “Who’s the hottie? And why are you not bringing him into the apartment? I’m not interrupting anything, am I?”
Soojung looked over at Luna who had her fringe clipped out of her face and her short hair tied in a ponytail in the back, wearing very comfortable sweats and looking equally as comfortable on the couch watching a movie. The couch was situated near the doorway of the apartment and Luna had a good view of Jin as he stood at the apartment door.
“He’s just a friend I’m helping out with some math assignments,” Soojung answered quickly. It technically was still true although she wasn’t too sure if she should explain all the things about gaps and slipping into other dimensions to Luna. She didn’t want to get her involved in anything dangerous.
“If that’s your “just a friend”, the guys you actually like must look a hundred times better,” Luna said amusedly.
Soojung gave Luna a death glare to which Luna just shrugged off. They had been friends since high school so Luna knew Soojung inside out and was not intimidated by her like other people. She was also one of the few that knew about her parents going missing and the one who helped her during her tough times.
To Soojung, Luna was someone she couldn’t do without. They were as close as sisters. She plopped down on the couch next to her and grabbed a chip from the bag of chips she was binging on.
“Hey, those are mine!” she said. “And when are you going to get a boyfriend?”
