“You did what?” Mon raised an eyebrow and a piercing glaze towards Jungkook. 

Soojung had met up with the gang at the warehouse after she attended her all classes at university and found Mon arguing with Jungkook.  It was strange to actually see them side-by-side.  Even though they were arguing, Jungkook could see that he highly respected Mon.

“I took her into a gap.  It was urgent, Mon.” Jungkook answered. 

“How many times do I need to tell you to take more caution when slipping through gaps?”  Mon said harshly at Jungkook.  “We can’t be careless anymore, Jungkook.  Remember where that landed us last time?”

Jungkook took Mon’s lecture without a complaint.  It was the first time Soojung had seen Mon look so angry. 

“Why did you take her there in the first place?”  Mon said in a frustrated manner, his black cardigan swaying as he paced the inside of the warehouse. 

“There was a guy harassing her and I didn’t know where we could hide.” Jungkook explained. 

Soojung had half expected for Mon to scold Jungkook for not standing up to Jaebum but surprisingly he looked sympathetically at him, “Are you ok?”

 “We got away in time.”  But despite the bright smile Jungkook put on, Soojung could not help but feel it was a very forced smile.

Mon seemed to think similarly and asked again, “Are you sure?” 

Jin had also paid close attention to Jungkook’s expression but said in place of Jungkook, “He looks fine Mon.  Don’t be so hard on him.  He brought Soojung back safely.  That’s all that matters.”

Mon let out a small sigh.  “Sorry Jungkook, I’m still sensitive to things like this.  I don’t want to lose you as well.”

Jungkook shook his head. “It’s alright Mon.  I’m fine really.  I didn’t have to fight anyone so it’s fine.  You’re not going to lose me.”

Soojung could gather that Jungkook didn’t like fighting or there was something about him fighting which worried Mon.  But she didn’t feel like it was her place to pry further.  She wondered what happened in the past.

She felt a need to back up Jungkook.  “Jungkook saved me, Mon.  I would have been in a much worse position if not for him.”

Mon finally turned towards her, “Soojung, I know.  We just need to be more careful.  No slipping if you are unstable, ok?”  He looked both at Jungkook who stood quietly in front of Mon and Soojung who stood behind him.

Soojung felt like it was not worth mentioning that Jungkook had pulled her into the slip while she was not ready and that had hurt her in the process.  She didn’t want Mon to get angry with Jungkook especially since she knew that Jungkook did not mean for that to happen.

Jungkook’s round eyes had looked into Soojung’s eyes with a thankful look and Soojung simply smiled back with an understanding look on her face.
