02: how to slip
Run / slip02/ / how to slip
Although the boys had not told her everything, all her senses were telling her that this was the correct thing to do. A feeling she did not get all so often.
She nodded with a slight smile and took Jin’s cold clammy hand.
She had known of Jin and Mon at university but there were simply in the same math lecture classes and merely acquaintances whom she exchanged greetings to and nothing more. But one day, Mon had come up to her and asked if she could help him and Jin with their math assignment and that was how their unlikely friendship began.
Deep down, she believed that Mon and Jin were good people, but she was starting to think that it was no coincidence that Mon and Jin became friends with her.
Jin led her to the corner of the backyard where a large oak tree had fallen down from the property next door and had caused the worn down grey fence to bend over partially. Jin seemed to be concentrating on the dark shadows beneath the tree and the fence.
Soojung noticed that the dark corner was strange considering how the light was not hitting that location, despite its location in comparison to the Sun. But before Soojung could consider it any further, Jin said to her, “We are going to run, ok?”
Soojung didn’t know if Jin was expecting her to understand why and where they were running to but she expected that this was going to be a part of Mon’s explanation later so she nodded.
With that, she felt Jin’s cold hand grip tighter onto hers and he began running towards the tree without reserve. Soojung was trailing behind him, with the pull of his hand around hers making her run, her long black hair flowing in the air behind her.
