“Do you know why people go missing?”  Mon’s tone was mild but Soojung could sense the sombreness of his voice.  

Mon was a tall and slim boy with dyed blonde hair where the black roots of hair had started showing.  Soojung always though he looked like a reckless rebel, leather jacket and faded jeans with holes everywhere, but at heart he was mature and extremely caring towards all his friends.

“Mon… it is a good idea to tell her?”  Jin interrupted Mon in concerned voice, knowing that he was planning to reveal everything to her.  

Jin had stood up from the couch; he dressed more plainly than Mon, in a maroon tee and neat jeans with no holes in sight.  Soojung always thought that Jin would be arrogant due to his handsome boyish looks but like Mon, you could not judge him by his exterior, Soojung had learned soon enough.

Mon looked at Jin with a knowing look, ruffling his straw blond hair in the process.

“She needs to know.  We cannot hide it from her.  There is a high chance she will slip and then she will be lost too.  She had a tendency to create gaps, remember?”

The words ‘slip’ and ‘lost’, although Soojung understand the meaning of the words, she could not comprehend the sentence Mon had used them in.

Jin had seemed to recede at the mention of these possibilities and sat back down on the couch, yet Soojung noticed he still looked uneasy and worried as he fiddled with the silver worn out ring on his right ring finger.

Mon looked back at Soojung, expecting an answer to his earlier question. 

Soojung obliged at Mon’s silent request and answered,  “They were possibly killed or kidnapped by somebody?”
