It's Called Being In Love {DISCONTINUED please look @ "About Me" in profile for further info}"Don't you think that you were a bit too rude to Sunggyu-hyung?" Hoya asked as he walked with Sungjong around the carnival.
"It's fine! He can take a couple jabs every now and then, Hoya-hyung!" Sungjong huffed and waved it off with his hand.
Hoya couldn't help but chuckle when he heard that.
Sungjong looks at him curiously, "Did you find something funny, Hoya?"
He looks at the younger before ruffling his hair, "Nothing. Other than you calling me three different things everytime you meet me."
The younger blinks before widening his eyes in realization, "Huh. Weird... er- what was the last thing I called you by?"
"Don't worry your pretty little head over it," Hoya teased, making Sungjong swat his hand away in annoyment, pouting, "Hey just because I don't remember calling you a certain way doesn't mean that you can call me pretty!"
They pause when they hear the speakers buzz before a clear voice comes out.
"Our most popular roller coaster is now having a 50% off riding session for one hour! Come get it now before it's over!"
As if on cue, a rush of people came and pushed the two around and once the crowd was over Hoya then realized that Sungjong was no longer by his side. Immediately, panic took over his system at the thought of the younger being lost.
"Shoot..!" once Hoya made sure that Sungjong wasn't in the same area as him, he ran around the festival, yelling, "Sungjong!" in hopes of hearing the familiar voice. He couldn't help but curse under his breath as dozens of almost forgotten memories ran through his mind.
"Good boy!" Hoya praised his little beagle, Hye, as he brought back a tennis ball. Before he could throw the ball again he saw Hye's ears perked up before running over to a nearby tree.
"Hye?" Hoya asked before chasing after the dog and rounding the corner to see a crying boy curled up into a fetal position behind the tree.
The boy seemed to have noticed his presence as he looked up at Hoya with teary eyes, "D-Dongwoo...?"
"Uh... no..." he decided not to voice out who Dongwoo was, seeing the large innocent eyes.
The boy then jolted in realization of the unfamiliar voice before wiping his tears off with his sleeves, "L-Leave me alone! Go away!" he tried to seem angry as he turned away before cringing and feeling himself cry again.
Hoya, being the awkward pre-pubescent 12 year-old boy that he is, crouched down and awkwardly opens his arms, "Er- do you... uh, need... like a hug...?"
He saw how the boy looked over to him and stared at him before basically glomping onto him and crying into his chest.
"Um- th-there there..." Hoya awkwardly pats the boy on the back, trying his best to be as soothing as possible. After a while, the boy stops crying and sits up properly, wiping the remainder of his tears away, "S-Sorry... I'm Lee Sungjong, by the way..."
"Lee Howon, but I prefer to be called Hoya," Hoya said and noticed that Hye had fallen asleep on the ground besides them, "Soo what were you crying about...?"
Sungjong blushes, obviously embarrassed, before avoiding eye contact, "I-I got separated from Dongwoo... uh, a friend of mine..."
"We can go look for him if you want," Hoya stands up and holds out a hand to help Sungjong up.
"That would be nice..." Sungjong murmurs before grabbing onto Hoya's hand and being pulled up, "Sorry for bothering you like this..."
"Hey, don't worry your pretty little head over it," Hoya couldn't help but tease. He chuckled when Sungjong pouted and smacked his shoulder lightly, "Just because I was crying doesn't mean that you can call me pretty!"
"And here are the meds for the patient in room 303, got it honey?" his mother asks as she hands him a tray of medicine.
"Got it," Hoya said, making his mother thank him with a smile, ruffling his hair a bit before leaving to check on her patient on a different floor.
He turns around only to be tackled down by a blur, making him fall backwards and the pill bottles to scatter around the ground. Hoya groans before opening his eyes to see a girl dressed in a Victorian style dress ontop of him and trying to get over the tackle, but couldn't help and think that her face looked rather familiar...
"Wait, Sungjong?" Hoya asks in confusion.
"H-Hoya?!" and the shocked voice coming from the girl confirmed his suspicion.
"Where are you Sujin~?"
Sungjong clicked his tongue in annoyance at the name before getting up, grabbing Hoya by the wrist, and dragging him to a patient-less room before closing the door.
"'Sujin'? What's going on?" Hoya whispered.
"Stupid second-cousin. Stupid bet. Stupid daily mistakes." Sungjong whispered harshly as he took the giant bow off of his head and chucking it to the other side of the room.
"Mind elaborating?" Hoya asked, watching how the boy stomped over to a bed and sitting onto it.
"I... I may or may not have met a boy named Sunggyu where terrible accidents happen and decided to visit him daily to make up for the accident but since I first met him in a victorian style dress he now thinks that I'm a girl called 'Sujin' 'cause I don't want him to freak out over the fact that I'm a boy and my second-cousin that made me do this oddly enough has a variety of victorian style dress and overheard me and is now teasing me more than usual," Sungjong took a deep breath before falling back onto the mattress with a light bounce.
It took a while for Hoya to process that in his 12 year-old brain until he realized that Sungjong was crying... again.
"I also dated Dongwoo... b-but... I know that I'm leading him on... I-I don't know what to do th-though...!" he murmured quietly.
Hoya stared at the boy before walking over to the bed and lying beside Sungjong, awkwardly opening his arms but managing a smile, "Need a hug...?"
The feminine boy blinked at him with teary eyes before managing a small smile and burying his face into his chest, "I wonder... why am I so comfortable with a stranger like you...?"
Unwanted adrenaline rushed through him as he ran throughout the hospital, his mind repeating what his mother told him:
"Honey? Don't panic here... but remember the girl you keep talking with and about? Sujin, was it? She... She tripped down a flight of stairs while running in the hospital... she has a severe concussion right now and is being treated right now... but she's losing blood really quickly..."
Honestly, how did his mother not expect him to panic?
After days of spending time with Sungjong, letting the boy release his stress and cry all over his shirt... giving him advice to solve certain problems... teasing him lightly to cheer him up... The thought of the boy possibly dying from a concussion terrified him to no end.
He realized something during this panic.
He fell in love with the boy.
This realization felt so cliché, but once he reached the room, he felt overwhelming relief at the sight of the boy sitting in a bed with bandages wrapped securely around his head.
"S-Sungjong...!" Hoya felt like crying as he ran up to the boy and hugged him, "Thank goodness...!" He released the boy and noticed how Sungjong looked rather confused.
"I'm sorry but... who are you?"
