idk, i wrote him out to be a familial type of person, taking care of everyone and everything due to his own family being "murdered", but he has a strong sense of reservedness where he doesn't expose himself and his feelings; an observant and cautious type.

cain was born in a village just outside the center of khaenri'ah into a family of vampiric origin seen as "bloodsuckers" (similar to that of olden times' witches), despite the amount of power and influence they held in the land.
the hatred got worse when a pyro vision was forced onto cain's younger sister, abelia, where she couldn't control it and it ended up resulting in the village's downfall (low-key want this to be a "start" to the cataclysm, or at least a variable). cain ended up having to kill her so it could be stopped, and in turn was granted his delusion of pyro, absorbing abelia's blood and vision.
he woke up alone with missing memories (an effect from absorbing too much power and energy in a short amount of time) and fled the ruins of khaenri'ah, traveling across teyvat and settling in fontaine where he built himself a town, a name, and people he would protect.

pieces of my memory were taken from me. there are times i dream of something i do not remember; are they perhaps a memory that has been buried in the depths of my mind—to protect me from greater pain?

thou shalt be punished perform 5 attacks with a hydro polearm (i gave him a weapon bc i felt like it would suit him better) and consume stamina for a charged attack that allows him to dash through mobs as materialized water, creating a mark lasting 12 seconds that drains their hp every 3 seconds based on his own. LV. 10
in mine own veins summons two materialized koi fish that create a barrier, making the on-field party immune to elemental reactions (melt, electro-charged, etc.) and control effects (including frozen, mirror maiden's cage, abyss mage's bubbles, etc.). this barrier absorbs damage and heals all nearby parties based on cain's max hp with a 9 second cd. if no dmg is taken the barrier lasts for 18 seconds. LV. 10+3
thy blood of me increases the atk of the party based on his hp in favor of draining his own. when off-field, his polearm breaks apart and attacks with the on-field party, lasting a total of 12 seconds on a 16 second cd. LV. 10
unburn the ashes increases the crit rate of self and the party by 15% when cain's hp is below 50%.
dissonance when the mark of thou shalt be punished is active, increase the party's elemental and physical damage by 24%.
voyage of the empath cain has the ability to allow the party walk on bodies of water.
role dps healer (charged and shield are his main attributes).
weapon broken vow of the empath (sphere / globe-like with a materialized fish in the middle? basically a bubble tank), 674 base atk and 88.1% er main stat.

playstyle the most elegant mf in teyvat. dash like hutao's except he leaves little fishies (as well as his plunge attack).
atrium sanguinis court of blood; constellation of a broken(?) crown (similar to rosaria's).
C1, VOW OF THE EMPATH increases the duration of thou shalt be punished's mark by 3 seconds, total 15 seconds.
C2, A BURNING LIGHT cain's crit rate increases by 15% when his hp is below 25%.
C3, CROWN OF BLOOD increases the level of in mine own veins by 3.
C4, A THIRSTING HEART if a member in the party's hp is below 30%, whether or not they are on field, the mark created from thou shalt be punished will transfer the drained hp to them, excluding self, based on cain's max hp
C5, FOUNTAIN OF BLOOD increases the level of thy blood of me by 3.
C6, EMPATH OF KHAENRI'AH cain is able to infuse his hydro attacks with his pyro delusion causing self-vaporize. (bc this obv won't work in "real game", this will be more of a will ie. cain changing his hydro attacks into pyro when he wants to vice versa, and incorporating them together like hutao + xingqiu.)
abelia
abelia is a name and person cain will never forget no matter how hard his memory fails him. his sun, his light, his breath, she was everything to him in this dark world with no path to follow.
tl;dr his younger twin who burned down their manor and village (along with several villagers including their parents) due to her vision being uncontrollable. in the end, cain had to stop her by absorbing her blood, killing her.

bonding over khaenri'ah, maybe? like their eyes obviously give it away, but cain's never seen kaeya before (since he's in his twenties), so why is he here now? kind of thing. kaeya lore in general is sus, so i want their dynamic to be angsty but soft.

ending ahhh, i want to hurry and start writing this, but at the same time what do i write??? i don't know, if you know me i'm not one for writing actual (apply)fics, though i do write in general.
anyway, i absolutely hated coding this layout. it was an honest pain that made my laptop lag to celestia and back, but it looks nice, i hope?
