characteristics reo is a rather toned girl, though not very tall. she has a healthy and slim build and rather built arms since she uses a bow. as a result, her shoulders are somewhat broad. physically, she could pass to be in her early 20s. she has a scar across her left eye (like suga in daechwita lol) due to some dangerous incident she doesn't really like to talk about. as a result, she has limited vision in her left eye. the pupils in her eyes are cresent moon shaped.

☾ she would be seen making cool origami for crying kids, taking down lanterns that got stuck into the trees and feeding the strays everyday. she makes it a point to be kind everyday as a counter to her short-temper and often fiesty attitude.
☾ reo is a glass half full kind of girl. she always tries to give people benefit of the doubt and always tries to look at the world through rose tinted glasses. the type of person to not hold ill will towards others (except archons) and really encourages others to be their best self. almost motherly. she works well in fast paced situations and is very crafty in her solutions. reo is a strategist at heart, able to think of several different routes that could be taken.
☾ in contrast to her cheerful self, she's actually very stubborn and impatient. she's always trying to get a move on, and even though she loves kids, sometimes they go off in tangets.. get to the point please, reo's attention span can't. reo has steadfast morals and will not stand to them being disrespected. she does as she please as long as it lines up with her moral code and no one can change her mind.
☾ spunky, has some bite and not afraid to get mad and get in your face. reo tends to lose her temper quite easily over trivial matters. things like people not following the rules in a game, or completely ignoring what she's saying... she'll start making sarcastic comments once she begins to lose her temper and she doesn't attempt to hide her annoyance. she's surprisingly grumpy for that bright smile she's always wearing.
☾ she's kinda got two sides, and it's more amplified after she's escaped to liyue. in inazuma, her two sides weren't always so stark? in a sense? like she was more easygoing and didn't always try to be so optimistic and cheery and didn't hesitate to be a grump either. now, while her cheery demeanor isn't fake necessarily but it definitely is used more as a cover for her more angry side bc her dad mentioned he wants to see her smile more even after what they've been through.

she was a born and raised inazuman, and she was proud of it. she loved every part of her home town. she's had met some of the best people and really enjoys her culture and food. there was nothing she didn't love about it.
until the shogun declared the vision hunt decree. now, she wasn't a vision holder by any means, but her father was, which meant he was a target.
reo and her family were approached by the kamisato clan, inviting her and her dad to the komore teahouse. they had a plan, and they had been planning to fight back by making fake visions and distributing them. it seemed promising, so they agreed.
it all went downhill very quickly. before they could even enact their paln, the tenryou commission had already knocked on their door before the fake vision could be made.
reo, frantic, pulled out her bow and shot the hand of the guard asking for him to hand over his vision. this quickly escalated into a battle between her and the tenryou commission. without thinking, she took her father's vision, told him to run to the teahouse where they wouldn't be able to harm him.
reo was outnumbered, but that didn't stop her. her goal was just to delay them anyhow. running further away from the city, she continued to get beaten until she finally found a spot to hide. it was dark, and scary, but they eventually gave up. her eye scarred, ankle sprained and with several gashes on her body, she made her way back to the teahouse, sobbing, her father's vision clutched tightly to her chest.
she had to leave. if anyone could help her, it would be the kamisato clan. so, with her wounds patched up, a dinky boat some food and all their money, she and her father with his vision safe, set sail to liyue.
"i'm sorry, but i have to run away. but i'll be back!" reo promised, smiling through her tears.
"you're not running away, it's a strategic retreat."
she falls asleep on the boat, only to find a geo vision in her hands. angry, repulsed and confused she yells at the sky, throwing it back into the ocean. celestia was mocking her because no matter how she tried to get rid of it, it would only end up back in her hand.
they arrive in liyue, able to get properly treated and maybe settle down.
"reo, i hope you'll smile brighter no matter what after what we've been through. thank you for protecting your old man."
reo goes by yijun in liyue. a new slate. she makes up her resolve, promising to protect others and to always smile and protect the weak no matter what. (prob would go back to using reo after the whole vision hunt decree fiasco is over?)
(added 8/19 - reo's mother) reo doesn't know much about her mother because she passed away from an illness when she was still young. it's been her and her father for as long as she could remember. sometimes she feels guilty for not knowing her mother and only knows her from the paintings her dad had around the house and the countless stories she'd ask her dad to tell her growing up. reo wishes she knew her mother beyond the photos and stories.
(father's vision) the vision is still in possession of the oda family, and while it still works... it lays deep in a box in the basement somewhere in their house in liyue. her dad used to think it was something to be proud of, now it's a symbol of hatred to him.
(reo's weapons) reo's swordsmanship is thanks to her dojo that she was enrolled in from childhood. she's learned the meikyou shisui art after taking interest in weaponry and combat training. as for her bow skills, she's taken interest in the bow a little later after seeing the army training with it one day. it's hard to find proper training in inazuma for archery, so for the most part she is self taught, but copies techniques she sees the army use and reading books. of the two, she prefers archery more but is better at wielding a sword

star shot she holds her bow traditionally and is able to snipe very accurately. if you asked her to shoot an enemy's hand from the cliffs, she could do it. her charged attack imbues geo into her bow and her plunge attack deals physical aoe to enemies where she lands. performs 5 consecutive shots. lvl 5
the star's sword like childe, her skill allows her to draw a weapon from the element and deal elemental dmg. for reo, it's a sword. she can only use it for thirty seconds at a time, and the longer you use it the longer the cool down (less than 10 s of use, 8 s cooldown, 15 s, 20 s cooldown, any longer, 35 s cooldown). activating her skill allows her to create a shield for the team member out on field for 20 seconds. lvl 10
star fall appearance wise, it's just ganyu's ult. she summon's a geo pearl that looks like the moon as it rains down geo shards that look like shooting stars, dealing geo aoe. summoning her ult increases the team's attack by 15% for twenty seconds with a 10 second cooldown. lvl 10
the star's power star fall grants a ten percent increase of crit dmg to members within the aoe.
the star's anger deals damage based on reo's max hp.
celestial blessing increases team member's skill by one level if deployed on the same team

traveler
she thinks traveler is so cool and strong. reo respects them for facing their problem head on, even when things end up being a dead end. of course reo wouldn't give up... but after traveling to nation after nation and then finding out your sibling is actually the villain... well, reo just wouldn't know what she'd do after that.
though traveler doesn't always speak, that's fine by reo. walking together in silence is always nice. reo thinks that they're super funny too. she didn't expect it, but the faces they make in some situations and their unexpected one-liners never fails to make reo laugh from their belly.
reo tries not to dump all their traumas onto traveler. it must be hard being treated like the world's strongest errand person when you're just trying to reunite with your only family and then dealing with a team of mildly traumatized human hybrids and stuff must be tough. if they ask though, reo is more than happy to share.
reo loves the traveler but she finds it hard to get really close to them. for some reason, reo feels that the traveler is somehow putting people at a distance. while it might not be the biggest distance ever, reo thinks they're putting on their guard. she might be wrong, but reo's not sure.
she likes to gather their needed supplies with traveler and talk about the world and hopefully bring out something that makes the traveler light up with joy. she just wants to see that childlike joy in the traveler's eyes, see them enjoying life. or show some sort of emotion other than annoyance at everyone acting like they don't know why they're traveling in the first place. reo just wants to be one of the people traveler goes to about their feelings.

herbalist gui
she arrived in liyue with some pretty gross injuries, but thanks to gui, all of them had healed perfectly leaving no scars, except for the one across her eye. it was a pretty deep cut considering how thin the skin around the eye is, and he was amazed that she hadn't lost her eye completely. though he had no medicine to cure her poor vision in her left eye, he requires reo to come by at least twice a week so he can moniter her vision. he doesn't ask much about her background, but he assumes that from her attire, she's inazuman and is seeking refuge in liyue. reo is super thankful to the herbalist boy who's seen running the pharmacy all on his own most days. she thought she might have died from how much blood she lost on her voyage to liyue. reo is seen spending her days helping gui run the phamacy, bringing him lunch she made and keeping him company when it's slow. they like to talk to each other about new medicinal herbs that could be used, or that new action-adventure book, or even just their lives. they're pretty close and he enjoys reo's company. reo might also have a small crush on him...
qiqi
oh my god is that a child? wait, she's working here? wait, that's child labor!
loves qiqi to death literally bc she's technically dead lol reo thinks qiqi is so cute, but thinks it's sad that she's alive... she should be put to rest and see her family right? but qiqi says she wants to live, and in a way, if baizhu is giving her a second chance at the life she didn't get to live, then reo supposes she could overlook him using qiqi as a project...
reo spoils qiqi, and sometimes goes helps qiqi on her herb gathering. qiqi says she doesn't need help, but reo can't help but to worry about her anyway. qiqi's probably the cutest zombie child ever, and reo always spoils her. coconut milk from the cocogoat? not sure what a cocogoat is but for sure! candy even though she can't taste it? whatever, the idea of qiqi eating candy is cute. treats qiqi like the little sister she never had. reo might have also caught four finches (one of each variety in teyvat) because qiqi mentioned she wanted one as a pet...
wonders if qiqi and keqing are somehow related lol
arataki itto
reo literally doesn't remember how she came to meet him, but she's sure it's because she saved him from a situation he somehow dug himself into.
resident babysitters these two are. reo thought he was just acting dumb to be funny to the kids, and while it was cute, she soon found out that he was in fact, just dumb. she finds him to be entertaining in a way that one would find a dog... dumb, wants to have fun, has good intentions but is cute anyway.
she doesn't know how easygoing he could be when he got his vision taken away on the vision hunt decree. at the same time, it's somehow respectable...? something as big as this could really mess someone up, but he just thinks of it as a game? wild.
she finds it hard to get a good conversation out of him that isn't him gassing himself up or just saying something totally full of nonsense. they aren't very close but they do enjoy messing around with each other. it's mostly itto failing at scheming against her and her extorting him for meals through onikabuto fighting. (she's not amazing at it, but she's definitely better than itto...)
tl;dr: 2 loud extroverts can't be good...
kamisato estate
reo came to know them during the vision hunt decree. while she herself wasn't a vision holder at the time, her dad was. unlike itto, the family was serious and dignified. she felt intimidated by them at first, but she didn't stray away from them.
she was approached by thoma, wondering if they could get them on their side to fight against the vision hunt decree. she wasn't sure why the vision hunt decree was so important to vision holders, but she didn't think much of it. anything to protect her dad.
despite working together with vision holders in such a precarious time for inazuma, she found herself getting roped into their shenanigans.
mostly ayato enticing her by saying he'll show her fun things in inazuma, but in reality it was teaching her how to beetle wrestle... and that disgusting hotpot game when you play with ayato and thoma... nonetheless, they had fun together.
reo and ayaka are a little awkward around each other. they're not sure how to talk to each other but they do want to become friends. reo unconciously becomes her more reserved self around ayaka, but she enjoys her company. reo always feels relaxed and enjoys playing games of go with her and taking strolls and enjoying the food made by civillians
after leaving inazuma for liyue, they've lost touch due to the strict borders placed upon the nation. reo makes sure to write everything down she's experienced in liyue to share with the kamisato family.

password eek okay honestly my personal bias/hc towards lumine rly coming out lmao ik the "canon" traveler is actually aether but! i think lumine is a better fit. i personally think that aether is more chill and wouldn't be as desperate to find lumine? idk how else to explain it but lumine feels colder, and harsher more serious than aether. she would be in a frenzy to find aether and i think if aether asked her to join the abyss, she would do it, no questions asked. if it was the only way she could be reunited, so be it. she'll become the villain because home is with aether
