Shao "It's not Shao it's Baishao! Baishao!" She doesn’t like when people call her that because she feels that the Bai connects her and her brother.
Little Bai Gui calls her that and calls Baizhu Big Bai. Sometimes Baizhu says it too which is why she got jealous when he started calling Qiqi My Little Qiqi.
Leigong it’s the nickname she’s known by by her clients. None of them know her real name.

characteristics Baishao is a petite short girl. Her hair is green and always in a bun with two strings out in front. She hates letting it down and it's all in her face. Her main outfit without the ears. She prefers boy clothes since it’s more comfortable. But Leigong always has her hair down and wears a more revealing outfit to look more mature. She covers with the bandanna so people who know her as Leigong won't recognize her as Baishao.
ENFP + Neutral Good
assertive, caring, emotional, empathetic, moody, stubborn, defensive, intimidating

Baishao is the most aggressively caring person you'd ever meet. If you've never been screamed at or threatened in the most loving way possible then she'll probably catch you by surprise because the way she says things doesn't match the good intentions behind it. For example if its snowing outside she'll say something like, "Bundle up or you'll catch a cold you idiot!" and proceed to throw a scarf at your face a little too hard. Aggressive yet caring.

Snarky comments and side eyes are common from her. Not sure if she has a temper or if she's just moody from lack of sleep. Any little thing can tick her off, her calm demeanor can flip at a slighty wrong comment or accidental glare. Since she was younger she's been standing up for the underdogs with Xingqiu so she's not afraid to pick a fight if she has to. Funny because she's so tiny yet so feisty. There were a few times Gui had to physically pick her up and carry her away from an argument while she kept screaming.

But all his moodiness and anger started after her dad passed away. She's going through a lot that she has to hold in so her frustration comes out unintentionally on other people. Baishao really cares deeply for people and is a big softie.  She comes off as your typical moody teenager but you can tell how much she wears her heart on her sleeve by how far she's willing to go for those she loves.

CHARAC-
TER.
Baishao was born in Liyue Harbor from a well off family. A pharmacist dad and a calligraphy instructor mom who met when she needed a prescription and offered him lessons because his handwriting was so bad. Her older brother Baizhu was born first and then her.

Baizhu was the studious one and expected to take over the duties of the pharmacy. Baishao didn’t care much for school, she was smart but she didn’t apply herself. She would much rather skip and go play or get distracted with Xingqiu than study. As the only daughter her mom was hoping for a cooking companion and excited to teach her how to sew someday but Baishao wasn’t interested in that. She would much rather spar with her dad since Baizhu wasn’t the fighting type. He had a fondness for archery so she too learned the art. But her dad did convince her to take calligraphy lessons to make her mom happy so she does have really nice handwriting.

She grew up hearing about the heroes in the stories that Xingqiu read, she was never interested in reading herself but Xingqiu either read out loud or told her about it anyways. She joined Xingqiu in his pursuit to learn martial arts from the genesis clan for fun, definitely not taking it as seriously as he did but she did prove to be a talented fighter nonetheless.

When her dad got sick it was almost out of nowhere, his health got bad quickly from an unknown illness that even he couldn’t cure. She remembers her dad staying up late at night with Baizhu trying to come up with a remedy for whatever he had but eventually it was too late and he passed.

It was a big lost to their family. Baishao stopped doing archery, Baizhu was obsessed with coming up with a cure, while their mom was just trying to support her children and hope for the best.

Baizhu was the one that took over the pharmacy, Baishao was just a part-time worker. Even though she wasn’t particularly interested in pharmaceuticals she still had to sit through lessons from her dad so she knows about it already but definitely not as much as Baizhu.

Baizhu spent years looking for a cure for their father‘s illness yet he still couldn’t find one. It wasn’t him that told Baishao he was sick, she was able to tell on her own because she saw the symptoms already in father before. It terrified her to lose another family member so she took matters into her own hands.

She went to Sumeru, the land with the smartest people and supposedly the smartest doctors. But after telling the doctor that they tried all his suggestions and none of them have worked, he was willing to do the research to help but named a price that was way out of her budget. Since he was putting his own time and research into finding a cure for her there was no way that he will do it for free.

She got paid to work at the pharmacy but there was no way that she would be able to accumulate that amount anytime soon. Even if she got another part time jobs she still wouldn’t be able to.

She actually got the idea when she was out with Qiqi gathering herbs, a man came up to Qiqi and asked if she was an herbalist. After Qiqi said yes he proceeded to ask if she makes poisons too and offered a lot of money for it. Baishao didn’t hear the conversation but came back soon enough to see a man walking away and asked what he wanted. Thankfully Qiqi didn’t forget and told her what happened. Qiqi went back to the pharmacy on her own that day, Baishao proceeded to secretly follow the man to his home a while away from the Harbor. She slipped a note under his front door saying that she could supply the poison and to meet her at the pub at 12am.

When she got back to Liyue harbor she was frantic, it was a spur of the moment idea she didn’t actually know what she was doing. So after Pharmacy hours she made a simple poison, stole a hat from one of Yunjin’s past productions, and she was on her way. The man showed up but only paid her half. He was suspicious because she only looked like a kid and thought he was getting bamboozled so they agreed to meet in three days and he’d pay her the rest if it worked.

Three days later she came back and the man was so excited the he paid her a bonus because her poison worked like magic. Baishao would love to say that he was her first and last client but instead she became infamous among those that needed her services. Known as Leigong she would disappear at night to go to a tavern a ways away from Liyue Harbor where clients from near and far that needed her services came hoping that they would be able to meet her offering generous sums of money.

It turns out that more people want to poison someone than you think. By pure word of mouth Baishao was able to slowly pay for  finding a cure for her brother. But the illness was more complex than she ever thought because even the smartest doctors couldn’t figure out a way to solve it. The more failed attempts, the longer it took and the more money Baishao had to cough up.

After a while her services started to become more complex, instead of just supplying the poison she ended up being the one giving the fatal blow too. After some experimentation she was also able to come up with personalized poisons that worsened the ailment that the target already had so instead of being a quick and random death it took longer and seemed more natural which definitely helped to take the suspicion off any kind of foul play.

It was then that she got her vision, the first person to ask her if she could take someone out herself offered so much money that she couldn’t say no. She took up archery again for the first time since her dad died. She refused to use any of his old bows so she got Xinyan to make her one. At least she wouldn’t feel as guilty doing the job from a distance. She also mentally cursed herself for not taking archery seriously before because she struggled to hit a simple target. She started off practicing on trees then moved onto moving targets like wildlife, the amount of times that she wanted to quit is too much to count but she always kept the end goal in the back of her mind and that kept her motivated enough to not give up.

She saw a vision in her bag after successfully hitting a forest boar for the first time. Part of her felt guilty seeing the animal foaming at the mouth from the poison she just injected it with but knowing that the gods acknowledged her efforts was enough to make her think that she wasn’t doing something completely bad. Besides it only made her job easier because she could use her dendro to her advantage.

No one knows what she’s doing, she didn’t even tell Xingqiu. She sneaks off at night and comes home before the sun comes up, either getting new assignments, completing them, or creating new poisons and practicing her skills. The only time she disappears during the day is if she has to go to Sumeru, usually leaving before anyone wakes up. Her behavior draws some suspicion sometimes, especially since she’s so tired and cranky during the day these days. Her mom says since her dad passed she’s been extra moody, but others might say it’s just puberty. To her luck, no one has tried to follow her so far.

VOICE-LINES
Good Morning ugh the sun stings my eyes, I barely got any sleep last night. How people function before 12PM never ceases to baffle me

She has a bad habit of being late because she doesn't get much sleep and sleeps in.

She is the worst person to wake up in the morning. Funny enough her and Baizhu live in the same house and both have to go to the same place (Bubu Pharmacy) but he leaves without her because he refuses to wake her up. Rather leave the struggle to his mom.

Good Afternoon After lunch I’m going to go gather herbs. Oh! I wonder if Qiqi will be able to do the work for m– I mean help me!

Good Evening it’s evening already? It seems the days have become shorter and the nights grow longer.

Good Night where am I headed? Oh – nowhere just… A late night walk, it helps me clear my head before falling asleep…

She set up her own training space in the woods with targets that she goes to at night.

Leigong is the chinese god of thunder in charge of punishing humans who have done wrong. Hence why she was given that name after a while.

When it Snows I know someone who enjoys the snow very much, just imagining how happy they must be now makes me happy as well

When it Rains it started raining so suddenly, if you get sick stop by bubu pharmacy! My brother is a herb genius!

About Vision my vision is a sign from the archons that I am on the right path so I will keep following it

Food Is anyone else craving rice buns or is it just me?

Angry if I don’t get a rice bun in the next five minutes… Run

Whenever she's upset she loves going to Wanmin Restaurant and scoffing down some rice buns. Xiangling loves it too because she eats more when she's mad. It's her favorite food.

She actually really loves skinship but acts like she doesn't. You know she likes you when she threatens you to give her a hug.

Cranky don’t talk to me right now, we’ll both just end up regretting it—

She hates when people point out that she's sulking even when she definitely is. It's gotten Xingqiu many punches to the arm.

She’s good friends with Xiangling, Yunjin and Xinyan. She tries Xiangling’s new recipes with Xinyan and goes to both her and Yunjin’s shows. But she actively hates Hu Tao and her stupid little pranks, despite being a prankster herself.

About Hu Tao have you seen Hu Tao? That girl and her jokes are getting on my last nerve. I’m about to give the Wangsheng funeral parlor one more client, and she won’t be the director this time.

About Yunjin I feel bad for her, those grumpy old opera people scolded me for being rude. Me? Rude? I’ve never been rude a day in my life! I think the only thing keeping her sane is Xinyan‘s shows but you didn’t hear it from me.

About Xinyan she’s really not as scary as most people think, she's really nice actually and we have quite a bit in common actually. You should come see one of her shows sometime it’s really fun if you keep an open mind

About Xiangling Wish me luck, she wants me to try her new recipe today. I love spicy food as much as the next guy but her dishes are definitely not for the faint of heart. That reminds me, I have to get stomach medicine before I go!

BOW
Vast Greenery Whether normal or charged attack she can aim further than most and still be precise. Performs up to 6 consecutive shots. Charged Attack is like Tighnari, an Aimed Shot with increased dmg, fully charged aimed shot will create 4 Clusterbloom Arrows that will track nearby opponents automatically and deal Dendro DMG. Fully charged arrows apply the Foliage status like Childe's Riptide status that lasts 10s. Foliage flash and Foliage burst have the same affect as Riptide flash and Riptide Burst. For plunging attack she fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
 LVL 10
The Deadly Sins of Wisteria Like Aloy's elemental skill she throws a Vine Bomb that explodes on impact and wraps the opponent in a wisteria vine dealing Dendro DMG. After it explodes, the Vine Bomb will split up into many Floral Bomblets that explode on contact with opponents or after a short delay, dealing Dendro DMG. When a Vine Bomb or Floral Bomblet hits an opponent, the opponent's ATK decreases and Baishao receives 1 Petal stack. Petal stacks work like Coil stacks. Collecting 4 Petal stacks triggers Foliage status in melee stance but her bow turns into a sword instead. She can perform up to 5 consecutive Dendro strikes like Xingqiu's normal attack and consumes a certain amount of stamina to unleash twin strikes like Xingqiu's elemental skill dealing AoE Dendro DMG. Lasts 30s, 36s CD. LVL 10+3
Chilly Spring Breeze Fires a Dendro-imbued poisonous arrow, dealing AoE Dendro DMG and applying the Foliage status. Returns a portion of its Energy Cost after use. If in melee stance she performs a twin strike with a large AoE like Xingqiu’s elemental skill, dealing Dendro DMG to all surrounding opponents. 15s CD. LVL 10
Ode To Foliage Extends Foliage duration by 8s
The Cure of Chamomile Each petal stack contained has a 50% chance to regenerate HP equal to 15% of Baishao's ATK for all party members.
Herbalistic Knowledge  Displays the location of nearby resources unique to Liyue on the mini map.

role dps healer? off-field dps? idk

C6, The Benefits of: Ginseng when Chilly Spring Breeze takes place in melee stance, the CD of The Deadly Sins of Wisteria resets once Baishao returns to Ranged Stance

Traveler

If you need anything let me know. If someone messes with you let me know... Just tell me everything OK? — Baishao

Baishao empathizes with the traveler because she knows how it feels to lose someone. Them losing her twin reminds her of how she might lose Baizhu someday so she’s really determined to help them and be there for them so they sees the softer side of Baishao often. But she goes into protective mode over the traveler. When someone says something that can be taken even slightly offensive she loses her temper at that person to defend the traveler, obviously taking it very personally. Kind of like Baizhu. Anything that the traveler wants she’ll try to get, including a little intimidating if she has to.
party baizhu
Baizhu

If you keep being sick I won’t come to work tomorrow!— did that work? Are you cured?— no? Damnit!
— Baishao

Baishao is really close to Baizhu. When she was younger she used to call him my ZhuZhu (she still calls him that sometimes) and cling to him all types of ways while he studied. Especially since he is unwell now she’s really scared losing him. He is the main reason why she’s even doing what she does. All the remedies that Doctor Zakariya gives her she secretly gives to him to see if he improves but so far there’s no luck. He really stepped up to the plate when their dad died so he treats her like a loving younger sister. They barely argue, mostly Baishao being moody and Baizhu just sighs and wait for her to get over it. Even when she wants to scream at him she stomps her feet and huffs extra loud instead to not stress out her sick older bro. But she does help him a lot around the house and pharmacy and they’re also very protective over each other. She knows there are rumors about him and loses her temper anytime someone starts to bad mouth her Zhuzhu. Though now he is more protective over Qiqi due to the circumstances he tends to give her the benefit of the doubt and defend her too. Even brushing off the concerns of Changsheng who ironically calls her a sneaky snake.
party Qiqi
Qiqi

You know what Qiqi, you’re the best zombie I know— no I don’t know other zombies, why? — Baishao

Baishao thought Qiqi was weird and didn’t like her much because Baizhu favored her. But has learned to adore the strange zombie especially her terrible memory. She uses Qiqi to her advantage, tricking her into gathering herbs that she needs by canceling her brothers requests and making her do her dirty work only to put Baizhu’s request back later. In the end Qiqi gets scolded for being late but Baizhu’s anger towards her is never long. She also takes a fall on herbs for missing due to her lack of memory. But Baishao takes care of her too by doing calisthenics together so she doesn’t get stiff and treat her to her favorite food. One thing they do have in common is their hatred for Hu Tao. She’d never forgive Hu Tao for trying to kidnap Qiqi so many times and some insensitive things she said about Baizhu’s illness. No matter how nice Hu Tao is to Qiqi she remains suspicious about her. The pranks that Hu Tao pulls on her are quite annoying too. She’s hoping that all the new business she’s providing for Wangsheng Funeral Parlor will lay her off Qiqi’s back for a while.
party gui
Herbalist Gui

Did I ever tell you how much you mean to me Uncle Gui?—What do you mean I want something? I’m serious! — Baishao

Herbalist Gui or uncle Gui as Baishao calls him saw her grow up so even though he knows she’s lying and does think something is going on he doesn’t tell Baizhu. Instead gives her wise advice that she doesn’t understand and he covers for her if something ever happens.
party xingqiu
Xingqiu

You’re an obnoxious idiot and I have no idea why you’re my best friend… but I love you… Idiot...
— Baishao

Xingqiu is Baishao’s childhood friend. He’s really curious and by curious I mean nosy so he‘a very suspicious about her these days. They used to hang out more often than now but when they do they spend the day playing hero around town, sparring and pulling pranks. They like to tease each other and bicker but not in a serious way, in a way that brings back old memories. Not much changed from when they were kids, they just got older. She’s thankful for him because if it wasn’t for his interest in the genesis clan she wouldn’t be such an amazing fighter because he always teachers her what he learns. Since he’s a boy he feels there are some things that she can’t open up to him about like her relationship with Chongyun. He still brings up the fact that she used to like his older brother and teases her about it even though that is long over.
party chongyun
Chongyun

As much as I’d love to see you in your manic state again I don’t want you to hurt yourself, Chili. Just wait, someday we’ll be able to see each other everyday! — Baishao

Chongyun and Baishao met through Xingqiu. They were younger then but Chongyun was always awkward around her so she thought he was weird. He had a permanent blush on his face and had to eat something cold when she was around. Even after explaining his condition she still found him strange. When Baishao reached puberty, her chest grew overnight and when she met Chongyun again his face turned so red that he ran away. Yeah he was definitely a weirdo to her but to apologize he sent her a sweet letter, “you looked so beautiful that I thought I was going to explode” it was oddly sweet. She sent a letter back and that was the beginning to their snail mail relationship. They both looked forward to getting letters from each other and Baishao’s calligraphy skills came in handy because her letters were always beautiful. They tried to meet without Xingqiu to see if it’ll work but instead Chongyun became manic and started running in a circle and asked her to be his girlfriend. Of course she said yes at the unconventional proposal and then he grabbed her face and kissed her. It really was a sight to see and she never forgot it but Chongyun did. She had to tell him what happened in her next letter to him, to say he was embarrassed was the bare minimum and begged her not to tell Xingqiu because he’d never let him live it down though he was happy to have a girlfriend.

Since then she's been calling him Chili and now they send loving letters to each other telling about their day attaching beautiful flowers and gifts that they find. Baishao’s mom thinks that she she disappears sometimes because she has a boyfriend since she accidentally walked in on her writing a beautiful letter with many hearts and Baishao quickly shut her door in embarrassment. They haven’t seen each other since that incident, in public he can’t even look her way without turning red so they avoid each other completely but they always write about how they wish they could be like a normal couple. So while she’s trying to find a cure for her brother she’s also been trying to find one for Chongyun so she can finally be with her one true love.
