Chapter 16
Ten“Yi Xing, do you want to be my boyfriend?”
He looked at me for a second and then he let out a chuckle. He ruffled my hair and looked at me teasingly.
“Yeah, right! I’ve heard your confessions over and over again these past years. I think this confession just now is like the 15th confession of this month?” He put his hand under his chin, wondering to himself jokingly. I looked at him sadly. He didn’t take my confessions seriously again. I had lost count of how many times I confessed to him. But this time, it’s different. I was running out of time.
I sighed quietly and forced myself to smile. I put my hands around his shoulder and pulled him to a headlock. He chuckled and proceeded to do the same to me. We laughed at our own silliness. Soon we stopped our childish behavior and settled down in a comforting silence. I looked up to the sky and admired the stars which were blinking brightly that day.
Will I become one of those when I die? I thought to myself while letting out a bitter smile.
I suddenly had this idea and looked at him. He was closing his eyes and leaning on the bench. I pulled myself together to propose the silly idea. I knew this was my chance if I wanted to make my dream into reality. I blew softly on his neck and he instantly opened his eyes. He glared at me while rubbing his neck. I poked his cheek and pouted cutely.
“Yi Xing..” I called the name of the person I cherished the most these past years. I looked straight into his eyes. He stopped glaring and looked astonished seeing me serious. I was a bright and cheerful person, so I rarely showed my serious side to anyone, especially to him.
“Let’s play a game,” I suggested. He looked confused and opened his mouth to retort. I held my palm up to stop him uttering any rejections.
