I am feeling all nervous and nervous at the same time, yup, the usual excitement is not there. Who could blame me right? Here I am, walking the front steps of the Alpha Kappa Zeta  sorority house, in my cargo pants, leather jacket and my chucks, and to top it off, I just cut my hair short; shorter than a pixie cut, like off with the sides, and with a bushy top, not really the sorority girl material.

I reach for the door, anxious to see the other side. Well, here goes nothing. All heads turned to my direction, and then they stare at me, so I stare back, a long staring contest, and no one is winning, when finally, someone spoke.

“Uhm, can we help you?” The girl at the center asked, I can tell she’s the leader, or president or something, she looks more mature than the rest of the girls, but not any less beautiful.

“I-I guess so. Is this the AKZ Sorority House?” I replied nervously, trying to look at these twenty or so girls all at once.

“Yes. Uhm. I don’t mean to be rude but, I think you need to leave.” The leader spoke.

“Why?” I really don’t want to be thrown out of a house twice in just a day.

“Because, we are expecting one of our sisters today.” The girl beside the leader spoke. Gawd! She is like a giant, but she is cute, I thought.

“Yeah. She could be here any minute.” The pale girl just beside the cute giant added.

“You don’t say.” This is fun. They look like fools now. Still waiting when the person they’re waiting for is just in front of them.

“I’m sorry, who are you?” The leader asked once again.

“I’m that!” I pointed to the big banner behind them that says: ‘Welcome, Amber Liu, and welcome to the sisterhood.’  And it’s obviously in pink, with flowers all over the thing.
