Sunggyu peeks at Dongwoo who’s squatting down behind the cashier counter, presumably hiding from the embarrassing conversation, muttering to himself. His smile slowly widens to a grin as he catches some of the words. Sunggyu has the sudden urge to tease the guy a little more.

I’m going to rob your store.

Dongwoo jerks up from his position and stares at Sunggyu. After a few seconds of silence where neither does anything but stares at each other, Dongwoo is the first one to open his mouth.

Are you really going to rob the store?

Fiddling with the hem of his uniform, Dongwoo looks up at Sunggyu and back at his counter repeatedly, his thoughts obviously in dilemma. He finally makes up his mind.      

I have this emergency button under the table. The police will come once I press it. I don’t want you to be caught, but I must do my job. So if you have any difficulties, let me help you. Please don’t make me press the button.

Sunggyu looks into the Dongwoo’s pleading eyes and bursts out in laughter. He can’t believe anyone will take a simple joke that seriously. Taking a few deep breaths, he finally manages to speak to the now wide eyes, confused male standing behind the counter.

But you are the one forcing me to rob the shop because you are hiding and I couldn’t pay for my item. I really do need my tea desperately.

Realizing it was just a joke, Dongwoo quickly scans the item on the counter and spells out the price, with his head bent low to avoid looking at Sunggyu. He could feel his face getting redder by the minute as he waits for Sunggyu to pay and leave. He will probably digs a hole and buries himself after that.

Sunggyu giggles at the sight of a redden Dongwoo. He’s enjoying being the teaser for a change since he’s always at the receiving end of his brothers’ teasing. Sunggyu acknowledges he just might have the same devious nature. They are brothers after all. But he doesn’t like that Dongwoo isn’t looking at him, he wants to see the big bright eyes and the generous smile.

Are you angry with me? You are not going to talk to me? I guess you don’t want to be my friend anymore. I should have known, who will want to be my friend, I’m just a nobody with small eyes…

Sunggyu fakes a sigh as he turns away from Dongwoo, pretending to leave the store. He is quickly caught by the arm and swirl around, facing an anxious Dongwoo.

I really want to be your friend! No, I actually want to be more than friends, if possible. And you have the cutest eyes I have ever see, I like them very much. I like you very much!

Sunggyu smiles shyly as he looks into Dongwoo’s earnest eyes, slightly shocked by the outright confession.

I’m glad we are friends and I … ahem … might like you a little also.

Although the last few words are just murmurs, Sunggyu knows Dongwoo has heard them since the guy flashes him the biggest smile and hugs him. But the moment is broken immediately with the extremely loud hourly chime from the wall clock. Startled by the sound, the pair jumps apart with Dongwoo laughing awkwardly while Sunggyu stares at the clock.

Oh no, it’s already 8pm. I need to hurry home!

Sunggyu pulls some bills from his wallet, hands them to Dongwoo before grabbing the box of strawberry teabags from the counter and heads towards the door. He would have love to spend more time getting to know each other better but his brothers are likely out, looking for him. He doesn’t want them to meet Dongwoo, at least not yet. His newly formed feelings require time to blossom, and it’s definitely unwise to let his brothers into the secret since they are demolishing experts. Dongwoo grabs onto Sunggyu’s arm once again before he makes it out of the door.

Hey, don’t leave yet. When can I see you again? I don’t want to wait for another chance encounter. I don’t think I can survive that long.

Sunggyu chuckles at the pouting male who is holding onto his arm. He takes the pen from Dongwoo’s shirt pocket and scribbles his number onto Dongwoo’s hand.

Text me. Maybe we can meet up for a drink sometime soon. But now, I really need to leave.

Sunggyu steps out of the convenience store and sees Myungsoo walking towards him. He is extremely glad that a new customer has stopped Dongwoo from following him out to bid goodbye. Sunggyu smiles inwardly, his secret is safe, at least for now.

I actually wanted to update this and another story on Gyu's birthday but it didn't work out as I planned. Treat this as a really belated present :p
