At the salon
The Part Timer
Hyung, I promise you will like it. Can you please stop wriggling! You are coming in with me!
The soft tinkling sound from the metal wind chime hanging on the door announce the arrival of customers. Voices filter in as the door slides open. I quickly shuffle towards the entrance.
Welcome to Destiny. How may we help you today?
I greeted the two males who were too busy to answer me. The younger one is pulling the rather unwilling hyung into the salon. I must say for such a skinny guy that could pass off as a beautiful girl anytime, he did have some strength in him. As for the hyung, well, let’s say he’s not the traditionally handsome guy but more like cute handsome … oh … definitely very cute with the pout.
Oh hi there! I have an appointment for 2 person. To do haircut and coloring.
The younger one finally turns to me after managing to get his hyung into the premises. I pick up the reservation list from the counter, ready to check off his name.
No, only for one. I’m not doing anything.
The pouting male speaks up for the first time. He looks ready to bolt out of the salon if not for the hand that’s still grabbing onto his wrist.
I know where you hide your precious Nell cds.
The cutie’s breathing hitches as he stares into the unmoving eyes of the feminine guy. After minutes but probably only seconds of communicating through their eyes where I was once again ignored, a compromise is reached.
Sigh … he’s right, for two.
I pretend to clear my throat when giggles try to escape from my mouth as I lead them to their seats. The resigned expression on the cutie face is just too much. You would have thought he’s being sent to the guillotine.
Here are some magazines for browsing. The stylists will be here in a minute. What would the two of you like to drink?
I will have coffee and give him tea, strawberry tea if you have it.
The sulking cutie perks up immediately and looks at me with his hopeful eyes. Now, who can say no those tiny but expressive eyes, definitely not me.
We don’t have strawberry tea …
The cutie sinks back into the chair, returning to his grouchy form.
But I can get it from the café few shops away. Just give me a while, okay?
His expression brightens up considerably and gives me the first smile since stepping into the salon, nodding his head enthusiastically.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
I think my heart is going to burst out any moment.
Luckily, the stylists arrive before I could do anything to embarrass myself and I left hurriedly to the pantry. After serving the coffee, I make a dash to the nearby café and is back shortly with the tea. They are discussing on the colors but the cutie seems to be shaking his head at everything that’s recommended to him.
I think you look beautiful in any color.
The group pause in their discussion and glance at me. Oh no, did I just verbalize my thoughts?
Ah … I said here’s your strawberry tea.
That’s enough to distract the cutie. He squeaks a thank you and everyone went back to the discussion. I do however catch the knowing look the feminine one is giving me through the mirror, well I guess I didn’t manage to fool him. He goes to the cutie and tangle their fingers.
Hyung, I like honey blond. It’s going to match my color. Can you dye it for me? Please, pretty please?
The cutie seems stun at the younger male who’s doing aegyo but finally smile at the spoken male, petting his head.
Anything for you, Jongie.
I stay away from them after that, not willing to witness any more lovely dovey scenes.
Surprise! surprise! The second chapter is out in a day! Since I'm so hardworking, can everyone leave some comments, please?
