The Feelings That Count (Mina x Sana)
Avocado Procrastinates"Oh damn, it's raining outside." Mina overhears one of her classmates grumbling. She spares a glance toward the windows to see that it was indeed raining, and it was raining rather heavily too. Fortunately for her, she'd somewhat expected rainfall despite the weather forecast predicting a mere thirty percent chance of such an event occurring, and she dressed appropriately for the occasion (denim jeans and a jacket with a hood). The sky appeared too gloomy that morning to let up without casting some cold, wet misery on everything else down below. She'd been around long enough to develop a sense of sorts for these things.
Her marine biology professor, who'd been off on a tangent about the effect of global warming on the oceans for about fifteen minutes now, eventually notices the state of the environment outside of the lecture hall. "Well, since it's a Friday, I suppose that I can let you off earlier than usual. Please do remember to bring a scantron and a blue booklet for the exam next class. I will accept any questions or clarifications during my office hours, as well as through email. You're all dismissed. Have a good weekend."
Mina is relieved to finally hear the usual hustle and bustle of her class packing up their belongings and leaving the building. She had long been prepared to leave, and her only source of entertainment at the time was counting how many people in the front rows were not using their laptops for lecture purposes. She had seen some particularly interesting things - a few of which she'd prefer to never see again. The copper-haired girl retrieves her phone from the dark confines of her backpack, where it had remained since the beginning of class because non-lecture-related technology was banned (not that she needs that kind of distraction anyway). Her thumbs maneuver nimbly to type out a message to her girlfriend, informing the other girl of her early dismissal from the class.
She receives an immediate reply: Okay. Wait for me right there. Don't go anywhere yet.
Mina guesses that Sana is somewhere nearby and assumes her girlfriend wants the two of them to have lunch together. That has been their usual routine this quarter, grabbing lunch after her marine biology class. She straps on her backpack and heads out of the building to wait outside, where it's a bit colder than she'd anticipated. Sana is nowhere in sight yet, but it isn't strange considering that her class had ended earlier than scheduled. A couple of min
