What is best friend?

To be always there when they need you, give them a shoulder to cry on, and protect them. 

The things Jinhye doesn't know, a guy and a girl can never be best friendㅡbut when they do, they shouldn't hold each other's hand, or hug each other, or kiss. Baekhyun and her shouldn't do all of those things but they've crossed the boundaries, and that's what's turn their friendship into something more. 

"I'm sorry." Baekhyun mumbled as he held Jinhye's small body, both of them were cuddling on his bed.
"You've said it countless time, Baekhyun."
"I meant it." He replied. "I'm sorry that we've turned out this way, I really am."
"It's my fault too." Jinhye looked at his eyes tenderly. "But I have no regret."
"Me too." He smiled, playing with Jinhye's long hair and gave a small peck on her forehead.
"What are we gonna do after this?" Jinhye asked, moreover to herself. "I don't want to hurt Chanyeol more."
"He'll eventually get hurt, there's nothing you can do about that, Jinhye." 
"But he didn't do anything wrong." Jinhye bit her lips, she couldn't imagine how hurt her boyfriend will be if he knew. "Chanyeol doesn't deserve this, I don't deserve someone as kind as him."
"And you deserve to be happy too, sweetheart." Baekhyun held her cheek. "You've been hurt enough seeing me and Hyojun."
"But he'sㅡ"
"Jinhye." He cut. "Have you ever loved Chanyeol?"

Jinhye didn't answer. What does she feel towards Chanyeol, exactly? Her heart doesn't beat like crazy everytime he's around. His smile doesn't cause butterflies in her stomach. Their first kiss just happened like that and she almost felt nothing.

"I like him." She answered instead.
"Like and love are two different matters, Jinhye." Baekhyun looked at her. "And whatever you feel towards him, I'm sure it's not love."
"I'm sorry."
"That's not your fault that you can't control your own feelings."
"I hate myself, Baekhyun." Jinhye sighed. "I hate myself so much for being such a bad girlfriend for him. I feel disgusted with myself--"

Baekhyun cut her words with a kiss, a short one.

"If you say something about hating yourself again, I'll kiss you again." He muttered. "We'll get through this together, Yoo Jinhye. We'll make things work."
"What if it doesn't?"
"We'll runaway together." He smiled.
"I'm serious, Baekhyun."
"So am I." He pulled Jinhye's closer into his arm as he kissed her head again. "I'll never let you go again."
"Me too."
