our misunderstandings.

The intent look Lu Han gave him was quite bizarre. They were on the way back to Chanyeol's house in order to encourage him to leave his room and also join their club. Well Lu Han would, Sehun had other problems such as trying to figure out why the elder was looking at him like that. There was a safe distance between them as Lu Han was about a metre away to Sehun's right. Despite being so far away, the younger couldn't help but get a bad vibe from this situation.  He didn't know what exactly it was but it seemed like Lu Han wanted to tell him something.

The thing was that it wouldn't usually have even mattered though what happened earlier was too much for Sehun. He couldn't tell why he had made clear to Lu Han that he was worried. Sehun wasn't worried about others so what made Lu Han so special? He wasn't special. There was nothing about him that had Sehun fascinated, nothing at all. Him calling Lu Han 'sunshine' had absolutely no meaning at all. It had just turned into a habit and it was too late to change it.

Being completely fed up with those side glances Lu Han threw at him, Sehun stopped in his tracks.

He turned around with this irritated face that dared Lu Han to make any stupid remarks.

"What is your ing problem?!" Sehun couldn't hold it anymore and pointed his index finger at Lu Han who yelped. He froze and stared at Sehun's enraged expression, shock and a sudden flow of all peculiar feelings were colliding around inside him. He shyly took a step back as the atmosphere made his blood pump in his veins once more. It was just that he was ashamed that him watching Sehun didn't get overlooked. In addition to that, he didn't know whether he was not careful enough or Sehun paid more attention to him.

"Uh..." He blinked and hoped that Sehun would drop the matter while silently cursing him. Unfortunately nothing like that happened and to make it worse he came closer while Lu Han had to take another step back.

"What." Sehun leaned down with his ever so resigned expression.

"It's just...you were worried...about me..." There was a long pause. Lu Han didn't dare lift his head to look at the other; for some reason, he didn't want to see his expression. He blushed and nervously rubbed his arm up and down as he scratched his confidence together to look up. His blush intensified and he stopped the irrational movements of his hand. There was not much reaction from Sehun's side so that Lu Han's pulse pounded in his ears and Sehun's attentive, confused face took over his mind.

"So? Do you think that you are special?" Sehun scoffed and couldn't believe that he was carrying this conversation forth.

Instead of answering Lu Ha broke into a smile and laughing slapped Sehun's shoulder, "You just admitted that you were worried!"

To his surprise, Sehun simply elevated his shoulders in a small shrug. The offhand movement was failing to cover his true uneasiness, the tightness in his shoulders and the stiffness in his voice was problematic to keep up. "You would have twisted my words anyway. Believe what you want, I don't care." He said and turned away to continue walking in fast speed. He wouldn't wait for Lu Han, in terms of going to their destination and processing this answer. He didn't expect Lu Han's peanut brain to keep up with this information.

"Good. Then I will from now on believe in a lot of things. About you." He smiled and skipped after the younger, not having a problem with what he heard. Lu Han would break Sehun from his case and get him out. After listening to Sehun's explanation, he was very quiet, his eyes fixed almost unblinkingly on Sehun's cold face. There was so much anxiety and pity on Lu Han's so that he pretended to be fine about that. He didn't want to stick for too long to that, things would soon change.

With a weak smile on his lips, Lu Han caught up to Sehun and with that move considerably brushed his hand against Sehun's. As if his touch was poisoning, Sehun cringed and directly pulled his hand away to a safe distance. He also threw him a menacing glare that warned Lu Han to not do that under any circumstances again. He didn't want to experience this feeling again, that was why he would be more careful from now on.

"I'm not going to bite you..." Lu Han half-laughed and pleasingly smiled at him. He was going to light-heartedly smack Sehun but then remembered that he technically wasn't allowed to. No, he wasn't. He parted his lips as he was about to say something but then closed them again. He knew that he was becoming hot around his face and brushed some hair strands behind his ear. He felt the need to do something other than blush under Sehun's heavy and judging gaze. He was conscious of his loud mouth but it wasn't something he had control over.

He was how he was.

Lu Han didn't drop his small smile and to be more daring held onto Sehun's arm. That bold movement caused Sehun to immediately stop and sharply glare at the other. He could stop with that innocent look because Lu Han knew exactly what he was doing. He was very well aware of each move he himself made, of every shift of his eyes and face. He studied Lu Han's face over and over again, as if this was something he had to keep in mind. He could see that Lu Han was waiting for him to say something.

Sehun sighed and challenged Lu Han's listening skills when he pointed at a trashcan which was on the other side of the street.

"What am I going to do with this if you won't let me go?"

Lu Han hesitated yet fearlessly gave him the correct answer, "Put me in there?"

"And then?"

Lu Han blew his cheeks up with a faint blush covering his cheeks.

"Roll me down the street...?"

"Therefore?"

"I should...wear a helmet? Are you going to buy me one?" Lu Han raised his eyebrow and tilted his head in an inquisitive manner. He wasn't even joking. He sounded too serious to be joking. If he was trolling around then he was doing it pretty damn well.

Sehun pushed him away with a disgusted face.

"Don't touch me. Maybe stupidity is contagious."

While walking Sehun honestly made sure that there was some space between them. He would not let him do as pleased, there had to be rules. Hence as closer they approached Chanyeol's house, the more times Lu Han tried to stay close to the younger. He obviously didn't jump on him nor did any similar things; he only threw Sehun shy glances. He also, like said, wanted to be as close as possible to Sehun. It seemed like he was testing the limits at how near he could come to Sehun. He surely hadn't learned his lessons. Sadly Sehun wouldn't bother himself anymore and not explain anything.

The awkward moment froze though when they were sighting two boys in front of the door of their potential fourth member. Like supposed Lu Han hadn't noticed those guests and was about to walk towards the doorstep until Sehun grasped his arm and aggressively pulled him back. There was no time to clarify Lu Han anything which left Sehun with no option but hide behind a big car. He had no idea why he was hiding. They hadn't done anything wrong. Well Sehun didn't. He glanced at Lu Han who finally understood why they had to hide so quickly.

"It's them..." He senselessly whispered- his mouth fell open. His brain was struggling to form several responses, though no words escaped his throat. He hadn't expected to meet them this quickly again. Lu Han would obviously at some point run into them but so soon? And what had Chanyeol to do with them? Pressing his fingers against the window of the car, Lu Han bit his lips and could feel Sehun tensing up next to him. He looked at the younger with an apologising expression, something that would say 'I'll tell you soon'.

Lu Han didn't know what those guys wanted from Chanyeol but he could explain his own situation.

Sehun's eyes didn't linger for long on Lu Han and he darted back to the still unidentified boys, "What do they want?" He looked back at the other and waited for an answer. What he got was Lu Han's slightly despairing stare that searched his face for a moment, and then glanced away, looking saddened. "I don't know...I didn't even know...." He paused and looked at his own reflection on the window, lowering himself. He wasn't lying- he didn't know. Nothing. He was as surprised. In the face of that, he couldn't tell if Sehun actually trusted his statement or if he was brushing it off. Both were very likely of happening, he shouldn't doubt the options.

After banging for some time on the door and calling for Chanyeol's name, one of the guys said something. It must have been a proposal to leave because nobody was opening the door. Did they give up? The relieved smile dropped from Lu Han's lips when noticing something odd. It appeared to be that the boys have observed that they weren't alone. They stopped moving for a second and then slowly strolled out, back to the streets and headed for the car where Sehun and Lu Han were hiding. Was that their car?

Sehun kneeled down even further and pushed Lu Han's head down as well to hide more effectively. None of this would be helping them in any way if those guys have noticed them already. A battle raged inside of Sehun. He didn't know why but he had a bad feeling about those guys. First cornering Lu Han and now going after Chanyeol? What could he have done to them? He barely left his room, let alone went to school. He had always thought that this kind of fear wouldn't have affected him. Because this was not Sehun's business so why was it affecting him?

The closer they came, the more Lu Han shivered. He didn't even know that he was until his hand came in content with Sehun's. It was accidental and still Lu Han couldn't bring himself to ignore it. He reached out for Sehun's hand and held it tight. They stared at the ground in silence for another long moment, wanting to hear what those boys were talking about. All of a sudden their footsteps made it sound like they changed their minds and were going back to the door. Sehun was so focused on that, that he disregarded his rule of not letting others touch him.

But then Lu Han was holding his hand so firmly, as if he was making sure that their hands fit. His eyes softened although they were still intense and he didn't think of letting go. How Lu Han was moving his head up to stare at those guys, like he was seeing right into the very core of their being. Sehun had seen it all, the memory of them with Lu Han, was distressing him-it flashed right in front of his eyes. He was sure that there was something he wasn't telling Sehun. The reason why they had this conversation and why Lu Han didn't want to address this matter.

"They won't go." Holding his position Sehun whispered that and wasn't aware of the hand he was holding. He was annoyed that those intruders had the nerve to just sit on the doorstep. As if they were challenging Sehun and Lu Han though this wasn't possible. How could they have seen them? It was unmanageable. Lu Han was troubled and this was shown by him squeezing Sehun's hand, "What are we going to do now?" He asked and leaned closer- maybe a bit too close. His voice sounded a little too shaky for his usual loud tone.

When Sehun looked up with a questioning look, Lu Han looked away and fearfully added, "I mean we can't go to Chanyeol with them around...they will only cause trouble for all of us."

"Hm." Sehun with judgment took in the hesitant concern in Lu Han's expression, the fear that flicked in his eyes. To avoid Sehun's eyes, Lu Han's gaze dropped whereupon his eyes fell on their now intertwined fingers. When did that happen? Ignoring the awkwardness that creeped into the air, Sehun somewhat stood up and moved away from the car. He couldn't hide behind the car forever. The owner could have come and also he had better things to do than hide behind a car. He didn't even know why he was hiding. Since he was still holding the hand of Lu Han, he dragged the elder behind him.

After moving by hiding behind more cars, they were far away to be standing.

They never let go of their hands.

"I think it is safe." Although they were not in eyesight of those people anymore, Sehun continued to walk while saying that. Not having a choice, Lu Han was pulled after him and therefore followed. He couldn't figure out if Sehun had a plan of where he was going. It seemed very random and that he was just taking the closest way to get away from those guys. Lu Han wouldn't doubt him- his eyes remained on Sehun's back. When they stopped, Lu Han couldn't help but peek up through his lashes:

"We can't go back to Chanyeol...so what are we going to do? It's like they don't want us to meet him..." Lu Han dryly joked and he lifted his gaze to meet Sehun's face whose eyes slightly widened. He stared at Lu Han as if he had something to say that could change everything. Because it could. Sehun hastily released his fingers from the hold though Lu Han was supposed to be feeling sad from that; he didn't because Sehun was grabbing his shoulders. He was literally digging his fingernails through Lu Han's shirt and held him in place.

"Do they know about you having this stupid club?!"

"H-Huh?"

Leaning closer Sehun repeated the question while the other was admiring the dilating of his pupils. The chill that had once been in the air vanished and the heat began to rise too much. It came actually from Sehun regardless of his contradicting cold nature. Lu Han's lips parted and his eyes flickered up to Sehun's waiting face. He couldn't think straight; his brain was going through all possible solutions. It was more or less booming under the loud drumming of his pulse.

"M-Maybe...why?" He asked back and hoped that he this would get answers.

Sehun sighed as if this was the easiest question he had ever heard, "Because they will try to scare everyone off who are considered to join...like Chanyeol. Unless there is something totally different going on and you are refusing to tell me what. "He said the last part in an inaudible manner since he wasn't sure if he should have said that. He wasn't that eager to protect anyone or Lu Han. He was curious and naturally wanted to know why they were so stubborn and just didn't leave Chanyeol's home.

And as predicted, Lu Han shook his head and denied it all, "I don't know if this has to do with my problem. I mean they are mean people...so it's no surprise that they also bully other people..." Muttering this he was also surprising himself at not only his ability to suddenly respond but to voice his biggest fear as his brain stopped working from Sehun's closeness and his heart screamed at him to run way. Sehun pulled back enough to stare at him; a glimmer of sympathy was in his eyes. Did he just mishear it or did Lu Han hint what happened?

"Also? They have bullied you before?"

"N-No! They didn't!"

"I don't even know why I'm wasting my time on this..." A rush of hopelessness threatened to rear up inside Lu Han when he heard those words from Sehun but he pushed it down against his will; he wouldn't spill everything in front of him. He appreciated it when Sehun offered help granting that it wasn't easy to get him say that. He wouldn't help because he couldn't trust anyone thus helping like that was just for weaklings. Sehun didn't want to help- it wasn't in his blood. It wasn't something he would do. So why was he so set to protect his sunshine from someone he didn't even know?

"Can we talk? At your place? I'll tell you everything." Lu Han asked nonchalantly seeing that Sehun said nothing. He was probably thinking about it and going through all the possible outcomes. What made it even more difficult to think was that Lu Han blatantly reached for Sehun's hand and linked their fingers together instead. Now finally realising what this meant, Sehun looked down at their joined hands and his stomach gave a stiff squeeze. He didn't know if he liked it or not. It could have been a mixture of both.

"You know usually this wouldn't interest me but it's not like I have anything to do…"

Lu Han lifted his head to find Sehun gazing at him. His strong determination was gone, exchanged by a warm look of wonder that made Lu Han's stomach flutter and his heart burst. There was no direct answer which he could have taken in account. However, his expression and words could be interpreted as 'I want to help you'. It was weirdly sweet. And that Sehun slid his hands away from the grip was a bit disappointing. He wasn't used to skin ship yet, sadly.

"Really? Thank you! It's like you are trying to be a step ahead of Kai in winning my heart! I'm impressed!" He smiled and held his red cheeks with a bashful smile.

Of course Sehun couldn't keep up with that.

"I'm not Kai's love rival."

He simply wanted to know the truth.

-x-

It was anticipated that Lu Han wasn't allowed to touch anything. He thought that maybe Sehun was joking or testing him. It turned out that he really led the way to his home. He didn't say much when they arrived except the usual 'don't touch anything'. Lu Han heard this lots of times and yet he was sure that he would touch something. After putting his shoes off he noticed how Sehun didn't let him any time to look around. He simply pushed him onwards and repeated his words that the other shouldn't touch anything. He didn't want anything to break or get dirty.

Knowing Lu Han for a few days was enough to assume that it would happen.

"Sure!" Lu Han smiled and was pushed towards the stairs. He was so excited to be in Sehun's house, his natural environment. He wasn't an animal but he couldn't think of other words to say that. He was shoved even more- up the stairs by Sehun and when they were done, Sehun opened up the first door that came into their view. He gave Lu Han's back a quick push so that he clumsily stumbled into the unknown room. The first thing that came into his view was a bed and a usually huge window. So was this Sehun's room? He walked into the centre stared in awe- it was boring. There was nothing special about that.

Since Sehun was so scary he thought that his room would be equally scary. But no, it was nothing like that. More like any other room. A bed, two bookshelves, a laptop desk and a wardrobe. Maybe there was a hidden button to press so that his real room would show up. Lu Han was aware of the reason to have come; they didn't have the time to discuss why Sehun's room was so tedious. So at first Lu Han didn't know where to sit, he presumed that Sehun was one of those people that hated it when others sat on his bed.

"Sit there." To his surprise, Sehun did allow him to sit on his bed as he pointed at it.

"R-Really?" Lu Han asked with raised eyebrows and thought that he must have misunderstood it.

Sehun sighed and sat down on his swivel chair, he couldn't believe how stupid someone could be. He then said that he had no problems with letting Lu Han sit on the floor. When he heard that he nervously laughed and responded that he would take the bed. Now that he said that, he would have to stand for his words. In this second he was frankly to say only capable of stuttering his way through a worried look. It didn’t explain why he blushed and sweated under Sehun's questioning gaze. He plopped himself on the unexpected soft bed cover as Sehun was sitting right in front of him.

"So tell me what's up with those guys." It was so straightforward and Lu Han needed a moment to process and come up with a story. He had to say the truth- well not everything because at some parts Lu Han wasn't sure himself. It was not that he knew everything. The fact that they were in front Chanyeol's home showed that they would meet more often.  They would because Lu Han had also a reason to go there. He needed to persuade Chanyeol, before it would be too late. Sehun was still waiting as Lu Han's mind had to work out itself from the mess it had become in his worry and he could now form a comprehensible sentence and finally give Sehun some information to work with.

"Their names are Kris and Tao. Top basketball players, I'm surprised you don't know them. Well...no I'm not. You don't really talk to people so you couldn't know." He explained and fiddled with his fingers as he nodded to confirm that. He looked at Sehun, making him understand that he wouldn't spill everything. He was careful about what to say or not. Perhaps he was afraid that Sehun would do something to them. But Sehun couldn't because they weren't those people you can have a fight with. There was a clear line in class.

"They aren't very nice...especially Kris. He always tells me to not go to Chanyeol. He says that we should leave him alone." Lu Han shot the other a meaningful, warning look that Sehun blinked at in confusion; he was sure that he would go on with that. Because Sehun didn't understand why. He thought that this would have no influence on him but suddenly his nerves rose again, stirring spitefully in his stomach. The need to ask more questions were cut off by a discovery he accidently made. There was something he was dying to have in Lu Han's chest pocket.

Sehun moved a bit closer- he wanted to listen to more but he had the chance to get the photo back. It was looking out from the chest pocket, waiting for Sehun to be taken in possession. He stared at it though tried to not be obvious by looking aside. If he would take the picture now then he was finally free. It was the only reason for Sehun to stay with Lu Han. The only reason for Sehun to join the music club. The only thing that kept him there. If he would make now a scene and get it back...he wouldn't need to listen to Lu Han anymore.

He would go back to his old routine.

Lu Han noticed the way Sehun approached him and couldn't make something up. The thought that had been hanging around inside his head for weeks left him without hesitation. What was Sehun up to? The longer he spent in this time with Sehun the clearer and more potent that thought had become and he couldn't keep it to himself any longer; he needed to talk about it, needed to deliberate it rationally with Sehun to make sure it was something he truly meant. He had to know what Sehun's real purposes were because he pushed Lu Han back down on his bed.

"S-Sehun what are...?"

Hovering over the elder, Sehun also held both of Lu Han's arms against the bed to not let Lu Han any room to move. This was his moment, who knows if he would get another chance like that. He had to use it- now.  Unfortunately Lu Han didn't understand his intention and to make it worse misunderstood it. He totally did. When Sehun lifted his hand to get the picture, Lu Han had something totally different going on in his head. His face took in a deep shape of red while he shouted 'stop'. Fearing that he saw behind Sehun's move, the younger stopped and drew his hand back in. Shaking his head Lu Han sat up and held the buttons of his shirt together even though they were buttoned up.

"I-Isn't this...aren't we moving too fast? I mean...I'm not ready yet...we have to get Chanyeol first and get rid of Kris...then...we can do what you want...whenever you...want."  Lu Han averted his gaze and blushed. His thoughts moved slowly, and he struggled to remember why he hadn't noticed Sehun's affectionate behaviour earlier. Maybe because he wasn't affectionate aside from the random calling of sunshine.  Their closeness, the shiver in his voice, and the words sliding back down his throat. He was too shy and this made it difficult for Lu Han to speak up.

"What." Sehun said and in all conscience didn't know what was going on. What did he mean with too quick? Wasn't he just trying to get the picture back? So what was his problem? He couldn't work with that. Lu Han was too confusing and Sehun didn't know what was going on. He couldn't quite tell. He stared at Lu Han, mouth hanging open slightly; he appeared to have frozen with shock. Lu Han gave him a moment to let the news drop in. He had to say that in such a way Sehun would understand that they have more important things to do than spend some quality time together.

He furrowed his eyebrows and sat back down on his chair, "Sunshine I have no idea what you are talking about."  Sehun glanced briefly at Lu Han to know if he wasn't just pretending. Finding no bottled-up grin or mocking sparkle in his eyes, Sehun's expression loosened, becoming less serious and more baffled.

Lu Han was confused as well.

"But didn't you..." And he had to stop right there because the sound of a loud slamming door came in between. After that, two voices a female and male were loudly having an argument. Most likely seemed to be Sehun's parents. When Lu Han bowed his head, saying nothing, Sehun pushed his chair back and came round, dropping down into the space next to him. He put his finger on his lips and ordered without saying a word, Lu Han to be quiet. Not having a chance Lu Han nodded and just to be sure put his hand on his mouth. He didn't want to make any stupid mistakes.

"Don't worry. They won't last long." Sehun whispered and glared at the door with a mixture of emotions.

They waited and waited.

For five or fifty minutes.

Their shouts have died down and Lu Han couldn't tell if this was a bad or good thing. He didn't want to ask Sehun if this was normal that his parents were fighting like that. Being rude was the last thing he wanted to be, as if Sehun didn't dislike him enough. And he didn't seem sad either so he was probably used to that.

Sehun acted as if this behaviour was totally normal and looked out of the window. He could gaze at Chanyeol's house with some difficulties and to his disappointment, Kris and Tao didn't leave. They were using their phones and sitting on the doorstep, occasionally calling for Chanyeol. Sehun was going to ask if Lu Han knew more to the story. And as of cue the elder joined him at the window and also checked the situation out. He had the fantastic idea to open up the window so that they could maybe listen to their conversation.

It was a dumb idea because the distance was too big between them but Lu Han didn't listen and pushed the window open. He should learn to listen to Sehun- there was an unexpected strong breeze. Lu Han didn't mind that but when something fell out of his chest pocket, he froze. Sehun widened his eyes because this was most likely his picture and if anyone would see it then they were done for. Well Sehun was because it was him who was on it. The timing must have been perfect because the strong wind carried the picture away while both Sehun and Lu Han stretched their arms out:

"!"

"Bad wind! Sehun do something!'

Their hopes that it would safely drop somewhere were crushed because it landed all the way to the other end of the street. As if it should be as far away from them as possible. Despite the whining Lu Han couldn't magically get the picture. They had to be prepared for the worst. The ability to stay calm was put under pressure because the picture continued to fly away, how was that even possible? After thirty heart wrenching seconds Sehun and Lu Han had every right to panic.

Because the picture landed right in front of Kris' shoes who obviously picked it up.
