Music blared from the dance room as 4 girls inhabitated it, moving to the beat of the music with precision. Chaerin went to the middle and did a flip, one of her father's signatures.
Like her father, Chaerin, too, was a girl of martial arts tricking. She and her friends have a rather interesting girl group. Chaerin was the one with martial arts tricking, Jasmine was the one with the gymnastic-flexible tricks, Angela and Tara were breakdancers. For this competition, they were confident about their victory.
"wow" a boy said coming into the room, a few more trailing him "nice Cherry"
"Daniel, what are you doing here?" the girl panted as she drank some water.
"we came to check out the competition" he said "you girls may be a bit tough to beat"
"you're joining?" Angela crossed her arms
"don't interrupt me when I'm taking Angela, that's not nice" Daniel reminded her "you girls are good, but nothing can beat-"
"she wasn't interrupting. You stopped and she said something" Chaerin said bluntly "what I just did, was interrupting. Now be a good boy and answer her question"
"Cherry" Jasmine muttered grabbing the girl's arm
"you're still fiesty" Daniel said
"it's not like I changed" Chaerin said "so are you joining or what?"
"we are" he said
"now that that's out of the way. Do you mind leaving? We kind of don't really want you here" Chaerin crossed her arm
"we? or you?" Daniel tilted his head, almost innocently.
"this sekki, chincha" she cursed under her breath
"don't forget that you're not the only Korean in this school" Daniel said "I heard that"
"does it look like I care?" Chaerin asked
"what are they saying?" Tara asked
"how am I supposed to know?" Jasmine shrugged
"are you still salty about what happened with us a few years ago?" Daniel smirked "do you perhaps still have feelings for oppa?"
"oppa my " Chaerin said "guys let's go?"
"where?" Angela asked
"my house, we can practice in Jason's exercise room. My brother won't mind" Chaerin said
"didn't you say your dad was home?" Tara asked
"Mark samchun? When did he return?" Daniel asked
"ibdagcheora" Chaerin hissed at him "My dad and my uncles actually want to see us. It wouldn't kill us to get professional tips, would it?"
"remind me again, how is your dad a K-pop idol?" Jasmine asked as the girls gathered their things, ignoring the boys in the room.
"he just is. My dad and uncles were famous before I was born" Chaerin said exiting the room.
"that's cool. I want a dad like that" Tara said
"you wouldn't, to be honest" Chaerin said as they started walking "when he has to go work, it's mostly in Korea. So he spends months, maybe years there. I mean, it's not as bad as it was when I was a little kid, but I want him home. I'm surprised that my dad and my mom are still pretty strong even after what, 21 years?"
"it's love~ man I wanna fall in love" Angela pouted
"you're 17, idiot" Jasmine said "continue on, Cherry"
"there's not much to it. I want my dad home a lot, I miss him when he's gone. I think he needs to be home now more than before. Luke's entering school and N-Nathan's accident 2 years ago. My mom can't handle it by herself so we ask my grandparents, but what if they're gone one day?" Chaerin sighed "ugh never mind, forget about it"
"aww Cherry" Tara said hugging the girl
"get off me Tara" Chaerin laughed. As soon as they entered the house, the smell of food filled their noses
"who's cooking? it smells so gooood" Angela whined
"oh? Chaerin-ah, wasseo?" Yugyeom asked as he carried Luke
"deh samchun" she nodded "girls, this is my uncle Yugyeom. Like..You gum. He's a really good dancer. Samchun, these are my friends that are doing the competition with me"
"oh. Hello" Yugyeom smiled at them. The three said hi back and bowed as Chaerin told them to.
"we're going to practice in Jason oppa's exercise room" Chaerin said
"jigeum? Mark hyung and Jackson hyung are inside" he said
"doing what?" she asked
"martial arts" Yugyeom said simply "Jinyoung hyung and Jaebum hyung are cooking. Bambam and Youngjae hyung are with Nathan"
"appa? martial arts? maldo andwae. Guys follow me" Chaerin said leading them to the exercise room. Sure enough, inside was Mark and Jackson who were doing flips. "appa, samchun. Be careful"
"oh my God, no way" Tara said
"that's so cool!" Angela said
"you girls must be Cherry's friends?" Mark said "I'm her father"
"and I'm her godfather" Jackson said
"no, you're not" Mark said slapping his head
"Mr. Tuan, I didn't know that you could do flips and stuff" Jasmine said
"I'm the one who taught Cherry how to flip" Mark said "it was my speciality back in the old days"
"appa, doesn't it hurt?" Chaerin asked worriedly
"na gwenchana, uri ttal" Mark smiled at her
"but...you're old" she said
"yah! just because a decade or so went by doesn't mean that we can't still flip. You sekki" Jackson said putting her in a headlock
"ah apo! apo! samchun!" Chaerin screamed
"let go of my daughter" Mark chuckled gripping Jackson's hair
"I wanna be in your family" Tara whined
"that's my uncle Jackson, he's the most annoying" Chaerin pouted
"annoying? hey, I have a picture of you when you were a baby and you weren't wearing any diapers. I can post it on my instagram like that" Jackson threatened adding a snap
"we're going to practice here for the dance competition, we wanted to know if GOT7 samchuns wanted to watch" Chaerin said
"I'll get them" Jackson said opening the door "YAH! GET IN THE EXERCISE ROOM NOW! ALL OF YOU!"
"Yah, lower your voice sometimes" Mark covered his ear. While GOT7 piled in the room, the 4 girls were setting up, facing the mirrors. They danced when the music started, not faltering under the strict stares of GOT7.
"you girls danced really well for not having any dance lessons" JB said
"he said that we were pretty good even though we haven't had any dance lessons" Chaerin translated
"but what can we do to be better? We really need to beat this group" Tara said
"you have to work on your synchronization. You two doing the breakdancing, I know it's hard, but if you two are in sync it will look really good" Jackson said
"also work on your spacing" Yugyeom said and Mark translated. "make sure you're at least 2 arms away from each other, especially if you have tricks like that."
"but what if the stage isn't that big?" Jasmine asked
"you'll have to adjust then" Bambam said. After a few more practices, the three went home, leaving Chaerin with a house full of boys.
"where's Jason oppa?" she asked
"he's out with his friends" Youngjae said as she took Luke from Jr.
"yah Chaerin-ah" JB said "have you ever thought of being an idol?"
"deh?" she asked "aniyo, waeyo?"
"you have what it takes to be one, especially when it comes to dance skills" Jackson said
"I've never thought of it, samchun" Chaerin said "besides, it depends on umma and appa"
"I'm not against it" Mark said "it'll be hard, but you should give it a shot if you want to."
"you should join JYP" Bambam advertised
"but..I want to be a doctor" Chaerin said
"chincha?" Mark asked "man aren't I a bad appa for not knowing that"
"I want to find a cure for Nathan" she muttered "I don't know about being an idol"
"then you can find out in Korea. They have a good medical field there too" Jr said
"I've been meaning to ask you about this Chaerin-ah. You always asked me about Korea every time we talked on the phone, and you're really the only one out of your siblings that has a desire to go there" Mark said "what do you say about a foreign exchange in Korea?"
"deh?" Chaerin asked, completely surprised by her father's suggestion
"I talked about it with your umma already, she's thinks it's a good opportunity for you" Mark said
"you can go to the same school as my son" Jr said "you two are the same age."
"what do you think?" Bambam asked "besides, we'll see you a lot more"
"a-ah, this is really sudden" she said flustered
"you can also stay at one of the K-T hotels" Youngjae said
"is it all prepared?" Chaerin asked
"we've been planning this for a while already Chaerin-ah" Mark said giving her a hug
"I'll think about it first, appa" she said "I'm gonna go do my homework now"
"study well" Yugyeom said as she handed Luke to Mark.
