My winter break has officially started. In the morning, I had to follow mommy to the mall for Christmas shopping. First thing she did was to buy presents for my cousins and my uncles and aunties. So, we spent hours going to different stores, choosing the right gift to buy for them. I kind of miss going shopping with my own mom. I've been so busy with homeworks lately. 

Next was lunch. We went to a nearby cafe. I ordered myself a peach iced tea and a pork chop with garlic lime rice. It was yummy.

Mom: Now that we bought all the gifts, we will go and buy the groceries at the supermarket later.

I nodded as I chew my food. Just then, mommy saw someone familiar walking into the cafe. It was her friend back home. They greeted with a hug and a kiss on the cheeks.

Mom's friend: Hello, ________________.

Mom: Why, hello, ________________. Long time no see.

Mom's friend: I heard you've moved here. How was it like living here?

Mom: It was a little tough but we manage to get through with it.

Mom's friend: (laughs) Oooh! Is that your daughter? 

Mom: Yes. You remember you, do you.

Mom's friend: Of course I do. Hello, my dear. How have you been? You've grown up.

You: Hello. I've been well.

Mom's friend: I haven't seen you for years now. 

Mom: You're here on vacation? 

Mom's friend: Yeah. I'm following a tour guide. It's our lunch break now. Oh! My sister is calling me. I gotta go now. 

Mom: Okay. Enjoy your stay here. (hugs her) 

Mom's friend: (hugs back) Thanks. It's good to see you again. Do come back during the summer. Bye, you sweetie. 

I wave good bye as the person walks away. Mommy sighed as she continue eating her meal. After our lunch, we left the cafe and went to the supermarket to buy the groceries for Christmas eve dinn
