“I still can’t accept this.” He growled towards them. Eyes darted from the guy in front of him and to Tiffany herself. Even though Taeyeon’s eyes were making him uncomfortable and slightly feeling waver. He would not show it though.

“You will regret this.”  

It was his last words, before he began to stomp his way towards his formed table. Dragging the confused blonde woman along the way to the exit door.  

After he was gone, Taeyeon immediately slumped down on her seat. She noticed how quiet her surroundings were, she couldn’t help but wonder. She was about to speak or at least start a conversation, but to witness her sudden quiet best friend, it only left her without choice at all. 

“For one second, I thought he really wanted to kill me right there.”

She threw a joke. “I’m so doomed.”

But still, the latter didn’t respond.

Taeyeon palmed her face, she didn’t know what to do. The awkwardness were slowly swallowing her voice.“I should watch my mouth next time.” She mumbled to herself in the end.

Taeyeon didn’t aware of someone who had witnessed everything in front of her. That person, was slowly reaching out her hand to gain her attention.

“Taeyeon..”

The said girl popped her head, waiting for her friend to talk more. She didn’t want to talk anymore if it was even possible.

“Thank you.” Tiffany displayed a weak smile. “Let’s go home?”

Taeyeon didn’t comment, she stood up and waited for her best friend to follow her.

She nearly stepped on her own foot as she felt Tiffany’s hand was making its way to link their arms together the moment later.

The girl heard Tiffany’s voice and felt a slight tug from the latter. “Are you really okay?”

She gulped before nodding stiffly.

“Never been so sure.”

“Ehm...” Taeyeon paused for a second, she didn’t know where to start and how to explain it either. Her braveness over there had already evaporated the moment Tiffany’s ex-boyfriend turned his back and walked away. Or that was she thought.  

She stood there feeling awkward, trying hard to arrange something to voice out her thought. But, nothing came out so far. An image of them kissing was the one that came, and it obviously didn’t help at all. Taeyeon heard a click sound, and she immediately lifted her head up, Tiffany had just unlocked their dorm’s door.

The younger girl was beckoning her to go inside, so she did.

Tiffany walked gloomily, she crashed over the cushion once she stepped in. She closed her eyes and heaved a sigh, Tiffany wanted to rest her throbbing head for a minute.

“This is really the end, huh?” She mumbled towards herself. “End?”

Although Tiffany did tell herself that she would be fine, but eventually there was still this unsettled feeling inside that lurking around her mind. She was questioning herself, whether she really deserved this.

Was she kind of inconsiderate and insensitive girlfriend for him?

Was her tend to be jealous and suspicious tire him?

Was it her all-clingy habit that drift him away?

Was she so demand towards him?

Was it too much?

After all, it was her longest relationship so far. And she couldn’t help but think all of the possible reasons that ran through her mind in circles. The cause of his betrayal. 

Taeyeon heard that, but chose to remain silent. It must be hard for Tiffany. All of those happy moments between Tiffany and her now ex-boyfriend were something that she believed true. That it really brought happiness to her best friend. Moreover, he was actually kind towards his lover’s friends, including her. But what with the sudden turn of event?

Didn’t want to prolong her thoughts, she went straight to the kitchen instead. While bringing a bottle of cold water along her way back to the cushion. She nudged the bottle at Tiffany’s forehead playfully, earning a weak Yah! from the jolting latter. Tiffany was in the middle of her brainstorming, but the coldness of the drink swept her thought away, for good.

“Go drink this to calm your mind. I don’t want to hear any weird idea pops of nowhere because you’re over thinking again.”

Tiffany could only pout at the remark. She held the bottle slowly, fiddling with the lid of its cap before asking. “Do you think he really cheat on me?”

“Well, you’re the one who made a conclusion there.” Taeyeon answered shortly, but she immediately regretted saying it after witnessing Tiffany’s downcast look. “You do know that the biggest yet the hardest part of being in a relationship has been about how to maintain the relationship itself, right?”

Tiffany nodded.

“One being bored with another is inevitable. Heck, one can even feel attracted to someone else.That’s when trust and communication between each other are needed or more like being tested.” Taeyeon bit her lips while still picking her words carefully, but again, a hand had stopped herself from biting her own lips.

“I told you, quit doing it. It’s not healthy.”

“Huh?” It was short, but it was what all she could ever say at that moment. She regained her composure back fast enough to continue her words, after Tiffany withdrew her hand, that is. Taeyeon averted her eyes somewhere else.

“Oh, thanks. Anyway, like I said before, it’s common to feel that way. But, trust is the hardest thing to keep. You trusted him and the least he can do is to keep that trust. But yeah, things happened. Unfortunately.” Taeyeon sighed and turned her head again to face her. “You can give him a second chance, you know. Just be sure to make things work this time.”

She then snapped her fingers. “I’ve read these words somewhere, maybe in Google.” Taeyeon grinned and continued. “The line goes like this, Trust is like a piece of paper. Once you crumple it, it will not be the same as the way it was no matter how hard you try. Although we could iron it or something nowadays.” She finished her sentences with a chuckle. “I might not answer your question right away, but I hope you understand what I’m trying to say. Because, well, I have never been in any relationship, yet.” She added the last word with nervous yet awkward smile.

Tiffany smiled. “For one without experience. You did sound like an expert.”

Taeyeon flipped her now short hair with a grin plastered on her face.“You know what? I don’t like the way he talked to you, and the way he addressed me as a kid.” Taeyeon unconsciously sulked, she then put a small yet dorky smile to ease her friend, happy to see Tiffany’s smile.

“You will find a good man. Or maybe, he is actually a good man.”

Tiffany fell into silence at the mention of him. “Is it really true?”

“Yeah, of course!” Taeyeon responded firmly. “Have faith in yourself!”

Tiffany said nothing, she then shifted in her seat. Brain still summarizing things in deep thought. She then spoke slowly. “Maybe I need to find someone else.”

“Ah..”

“Yeah, if he tends to lie on me. There’s no guarantee he couldn’t lie in the future. And hiding things from each other isn’t good too you know.” Tiffany replied with a small smile. “Guess like, I need to move on.”

“Don’t worry, it’s his loss.” Taeyeon comforted her with a pat on her back. “We’re still young! There’s plenty of good men over there.” 

She retracted her hands from Tiffany’s back, then spread her hands open to describe how much it was. “You will get them easy!” A snap of fingers.

Tiffany chuckled. “You’re one of them right?”

Taeyeon threw her a confused look. “What?” She asked while following Tiffany’s eyes that were traveling down her body. She then realized it. 
 

“YAH! I’m off limit!”

The younger girl’s loud laughs could be heard as she saw Taeyeon’s red face, she even clapped her hands happily.

The laughs died and Tiffany wiped her eyes after laughing so hard. “Oh! Why don’t we have a deal?”

Taeyeon said nothing, she only raised an eyebrow towards her friend. Still looking pissed after being teased.

“You will be my boyfriend until I meet the real one.”

“What?!”

She jolted on her seat and threw an unbelievable look. “You didn’t drink it, did you?!” Taeyeon pointed at the still closed bottle in Tiffany’s hand. “That’s way this random and weird idea keep on coming.” Taeyeon muttered under her breath with a tired expression.

Tiffany could only grin. “You will continue to dress up as a guy when I need your help as a guy. But out of the task, you can be Taeyeon again! How is it?”

Taeyeon could barely process anything. “How so? I mean, if you’re trying to date someone, could it be more complicated if you have me as a boyfriend  there?”

“Well the deal goes like this.” Tiffany tried to explain. “Should he’s not the one I’m looking for, I will immediately ask you to help and appear in front of him.”

Taeyeon thought for a moment. “Wouldn’t it like playing with feelings? How could you ditch someone just like that?” She scratched her head—feeling confused. “You’re single, but taken? How is that even possible?”

“You can assume it that way.” Tiffany referred to Taeyeon’s last comment. “But I do not play with feelings. I’m just being wary, that is.”

“So, what can I get from this deal?”

“I can guarantee that you will find various ice-creams in our fridge.”

Taeyeon contemplated, she thought for the best. “Just ice creams?” She lifted her eyebrows up and down. “Really?”

Tiffany rolled her eyes at the moved eyebrows. “Right. Whatever you want, just help me.” 

Taeyeon chuckled in amusement. “Good. Be thankful, it’s summer too! Oh my good! Ice-creams fully stocked in the fridge till the rest of summer???” She squealed in joy.

“It’s heaven!!!!!!!”

She then extended her right hand, seemed eager for handshake and Tiffany took it after placing her drink on her table.

”Deal.”

Both of them said with smiles. Completely oblivious with everything that would happen after they had agreed with the deal.
