Cp. 26

“Hi.”

Taeyeon looked up from her book to see a girl with raven hair was standing in front of her with a beautiful smile.

“May I have a seat here? This place is fully occupied so,”

Being polite and kind as she always did, she replied after placing her book down.

“Hi to you too.” Taeyeon smiled. “Yes, feel free to do whatever you want to do. No one wants to sit with me though.” She added playfully, trying to ease the fidgeting girl in front of her.

“Are you kidding me? Am I the first ever person who voluntarily does this?” The younger girl asked while taking a seat in front of her.

“Oh well, no-” Taeyeon momentary grinned. “My best friend was the guinea pig.” She chuckled while remembering Tiffany. “By the way, what’s your name? It’s quite weird to have these friendly talks, but we still don’t know our names.” She reached out her hand.

“My name is Tae-”

Taeyeon was sure she saw a faint blush crept on her new acquaintance’s cheek as their hands made contact in a brief second. Thus when she realized that she was still a guy at that time. Her former plan was only to surprise Tiffany and she didn’t even see this coming. I’m doomed.  “M-my name is Taeyong. But you can call me Taeng.”

“My name is Yoona.” The latter smiled shyly. “Nice to meet you Taeyong-ssi.”

“My pleasure to meet you as well.” Taeyeon replied shortly.

Both of them smiled and processed to do their own business.

Taeyeon was about to go back reading her book, but the ringing device above the table had pretty much startled her. She peeked and picked the phone up when she saw the flashing name.

“Hello?”

She heard the whiny sound in the other line and couldn’t even stop herself from smiling, it hurt, Taeyeon swore it was. However, her lips would never listen to hear no matter how hard she tried to suppress her smile. All thanks to Tiffany.

“Where do you think I am?”

She almost laughed out loud the moment she heard her holler back. “I know you don’t like it when I’m being secretive.”

Taeyeon fell into a silence after being reminded of the fiasco back then. That pretty much led both of them to acknowledge their mutual feelings later on. “But, well, can you guess where I am?”

She leaned a bit far from the table to whisper. “I have something to tell you.”

Her corner of lips twitched when she got an uninterested reply from the others. “Oh, please. Why are you so lazy to guess? And I promise, it’s not about your drool.”

She put device away of her ear as the loud yell was overtaking.

“It’s not childish. I swear. You can take my dookong away.” She hissed on the phone.

“…”

“I even told you to take away my dookong, didn’t I? That’s called scarifying and definitely not childish.” Taeyeon’s will to hold back her laugh finally drained. She immediately put her palm over to prevent herself from being the center of attention. “Okay, I’m at the usual.” She said in the midst of laughing. “Satisfy?”

“…”

“Since when do I decide to change my name?” Taeyeon asked. “Hey, I’m not done yet talking to you, yah!”

She tried to sound annoyed. Maybe she had succeed, but if Tiffany were seeing her actual face, that huge smile of her had given away her truly feelings. “I love you.” She mumbled shyly though the call was already ended.

“My best friend.” Taeyeon emitted with a smile to Yoona who couldn’t help but glance at her from time to time.

“Err best friend? I don’t want to disturb your time so I will just move…” replied the girl with a frown. He might be friendzoned, Yoona’s movement to gather her stuff was being halted as Taeyeon put aside her phone and started talking. “Yes, she is coming. But no, you won’t disturb anything.” Taeyeon paused. “That reminds me, do you happen to be alone here?”

Yoona nodded. “Do you mind?”

“Of course not! It’s great indeed. She’s a friendly person, I assume you two will get along quite well.” Taeyeon beamed and got a slight smile from Yoona.

“Thank you.”

***

“Bye boo!”

The young girl was smiling from ear to ear as she ended the call rather quickly. She liked to annoy her very much. Her face is so cute whenever I ! HA!

And plus, “What’s so wrong for being straight to the point, right?” Tiffany nodded to herself as she marched slowly to where her special one currently at with spring on her every steps.

To be honest, she was having a bad day. Her scary professor was scolding her for accidentally falling asleep in the class. She couldn’t help it, because yesterday she had stayed late at night for finishing her paper. “Stop being such a deadliner, you know?” Taeyeon once told her to stop working things in a very last minute. But she only confronted it with, “Is that even a word? And so, I got so many inspiration when I’m in a rush.”

And their argument stopped right there.

She wasn’t in the mood for any sudden secrecy provided by Taeyeon, because Tiffany could still hear her professor’s words echoed inside her head. It explained the endless whine Taeyeon had to bear before.

Nevertheless, talking to Taeyeon would always make her feeling better. “Though I still hate that bald man.” She muttered in a low voice. “That’s a very true words coming from the deepest place of my heart.”

Thankfully, the café she currently headed wasn’t that far from their university. Hence, why Taeyeon would always like to spend her time when she didn’t have any courses left at that day. Just like today.

It took Tiffany 5 minutes or so, to reach her destination. Once she stepped inside, her eyes were immediately scanning for a petite girl that she cherished dearly. But she found a petite guy instead. She raised her eyebrows at the familiar figure. What the heck is she planning to do?!

Tiffany’s slightly better day had ruined completely after seeing Taeyeon with the other girl, chatting happily. Noted, Taeyeon was being a guy there. Her nostril flared with smoke at the sight of it.

“Oh is that so? Really?“ She heard Taeyeon’s chuckle when she walked closer to the said table. She saw a girl in front of her turning slightly, and seemingly catching her presence.

Taeyeon followed suit and greeted her in the process. “Hi!”

Don’t ‘Hi’ me you freaking dense person. She shifted her gaze back at the stranger, with a tiny fake smile that last for exactly 3 seconds.

The raven-haired girl smiled, she stood up and extended her hand. “My name is Im Yoona.”

Oh well, she is indeed pretty. Tiffany thought to herself. But I, Tiffany Hwang, am way prettier than her.

“My name is Tiffany Hwang.” She smiled back, thinking that it was the common thing to do in this kind of situation. Yoona glanced at Taeyeon and smiled again, it didn’t go unnoticed by Tiffany though. “Taeng talks a lot about you.”

Ah so already nickname, huh? Tiffany huffed inwardly.

“Oh really?” She responded while looking at the culprit. “Did he say something weird about me? If so, I will gladly punch him, so don’t hesitate.” Tiffany glared at Taeyeon secretly.

“No, he didn’t. In fact, he talks about how beautiful you are and how great your friendship is.” Yoona answered with a soft smile. “That you’re his best ever friend in the world.”

She looked at Taeyeon who was smiling too.

“Best friend?” Tiffany asked quietly and Yoona nodded, answering her question.

“Oh have a seat!” Taeyeon exclaimed, while gesturing Tiffany to take a seat beside her.

But I have an idea instead. Tiffany smiled to herself at the thought of it.

“Wh-..”  Taeyeon face contorted with shock yet shy expression as the other girl placed herself on her laps instead. The look on Yoona’s face didn’t change, there wasn’t any hint of jealousy or something. To be honest, it looked like she was amused by her sudden shocking action.

“W-what are you doing??” Taeyeon’s cute stutters brought Tiffany back to face her. She just smirked before leaning in and whispering towards her slowly.

“I’m trying to save your here, so be quiet and listen.”

She gulped. “O-okay..”

“We are best friends, but turn into lovers.” She proudly stated while facing Yoona. “He always forget that we are already reaching another levels yet he still calls me his best friend, as you can see he may be dumb sometimes.” Tiffany paused and poked Taeyeon on her cheek. Her eyes turned soft as she stared at the figure beneath her for a split of second. “But aside of that, it doesn’t change the fact about how well we know each other best for a very long time though.”

“So what does a label mean?” Tiffany continued and turned to Yoona, smiling genuinely this time.

Taeyeon’s face was showing something that she couldn’t pinpoint at that time when she happened to look at her. But it was happy expression nonetheless, she could literally see spark in her eyes.

“She’s my wife for eternity!” Taeyeon exclaimed with a proud smile.

Omo.

That words, successfully silencing her.

Now, now, why do I feel shy?

Wives for eternity. It was their silly little thing that they played ever since they were kids.

But, why does it feel so- right? Tiffany shook her head. Well, I feel shy or probably ashamed. It’s because Taeyeon said it out loud to people freely like it’s not a big deal. So, I feel ashamed here. Yeah, right.

“Wow! That’s cool!”

She tilted her head towards Yoona. The latter was sure, this wow-ing was coming from her.

“I admire you guys!” Yoona grinned. “I’ve always dreamt about having a great relationship like that!” She even clapped her hands gleefully. “A strong relationship comes from a strong friendship too! I know that quote is somehow right!”

Taeyeon cleared in embarrassment. “Oh well, thank you Yoona. But can you tone down your voice a bit? Everyone is looking at our direction, you know.”

Yoona was looking from side to side, after a good minute scanning around; Tiffany was sure she saw a faint smirk begin to form on her face. Now, what is it?

“I think I know why people is looking at us now.” Yoona stated lowly. Her curiosity reached over her, so Tiffany couldn’t help but ask. “Why?”

“You surely want to know?”

“Well, why not?” This time Taeyeon answered, shrugging. “I grew uncomfortable with these unnecessary stares.”

Tiffany nodded, she then shifted on her seat in order to get more comfortable position.

Then a light bulb popped out of her head, blinking unstoppable, alarming her brain. It made her realize something.

I STILL HAPPILY SIT ON TAEYEON’S LAPS!!!!

THIS IS WHY WE GOT THIS SO MUCH ATTENTIONS!!!!!!!!

She jumped off Taeyeon’s laps almost immediately and scurried to occupy the seat beside her. Finally, she sat on a proper seat this time. She could hear some giggles and laughs come from both Taeyeon and Yoona, it made Tiffany bury her face deeper on her palms.

Great. Ganging up on me.

“Don’t laugh Kim.” She demanded on her in a muffled voice.

She was about to pinch her waist but Taeyeon’s left arm made its way to engulf her into a side hug.

“I can’t! You’re just too cute!!!!”

“Awwwwwwwwwwww...” She heard Yoona’s sigh dreamily there.

Hell, this is one heck moment indeed.

I hate you, Kim.

***

“Nah come here, oppa wanna give you a hug.”

She saw Taeyeon spread her hands open, signaling for her to come closer and just hug her. But she didn’t want to do it just yet, she wanted to take a revenge on her. So, although her heart had fluttered at the gesture, her answer was a firm, “No.”

“Hey, beautiful.”

Tiffany refused to talk to her no matter how cute the doll that Taeyeon was trying to bribe her with. And how endearing her words were. She was simply didn’t care.

“Aw, Totoro, it looks like that beautiful girl is ignoring me.” She saw Taeyeon lean even closer to that tiny doll. It was as if the practically lifeless doll was giving her instruction, Tiffany had to shake her head at her clearly childish gesture. You seriously love that person? Really? She sighed. Congratulation, you’re stuck with that dork. No ways out.

Taeyeon had suddenly stood in front of her with a cheeky smile plastered on, when she was done grieving her fate. This time that doll had rested on Taeyeon’s shoulder with the owner help, of course. “Hey, baby, you wanna go for ride?”

IT’S BARBIE!

Tiffany tried not to scream the correct words because she knew Taeyeon was doing it on purpose. In the end, she circled her and continued walking.

“Hey, baby, you wanna go for ride?” Taeyeon repeated again, matching her steps.

“It’s Barbie, Taeyeon.” She gave up involuntary.

“Ah! Thank god! You’re talking to me!” She held both of Tiffany’s hands with one hand stopping the younger girl from walking anymore. “But, I prefer calling you baby though.”

“Your sweet talking won’t affect me.”

“How about this, can you hold it for me?” Tiffany took the given doll and watched Taeyeon to grasp her other free hand. “This much better.”

Taeyeon smiled and lifted Tiffany’s back of hand. The latter stared at her questioningly.

“What the heck did you-”

“Wait!” She cut Tiffany from speaking any further.

“I’ve something to tell you, let me finish it first okay?”

“You have so many things to tell me huh?”

Her jaw hung loosely the moment she felt her soft lips against her skin. Taeyeon just kissed it, ever so slowly, ignoring her remark for a bit without breaking their intense eyes contacts. The latter paused and beamed a sincere smile, peeling her lips off her back of hand. “Yup, I’ve something to tell you that is…. I love you.”

Tiffany felt her heart swell at the sight.

“And I mean it.” Taeyeon smiled at her sweetly and she swore the ‘I love you too’ words were on the verge of slipping out by her unconsciously. “Still,” Tiffany gulped and looked away. She withdrew her hand coolly, trying hard to hide her red cheeks. Or maybe her whole face, because she was sure that whichever part of her face had changed color. It probably turned reddish by now.

“You’re a terrible liar, baby.” Taeyeon laughed. “But, I still love you nonetheless.”

Using her fingertip, she gently brought Tiffany to face her, “You don’t want to say anything, huh? Or is it because you don’t want to be called cheesy? Because I know, deep inside, you’re just as cheesy as me.” Taeyeon grinned, pulling her closer with one hand. “We can be cheesy couple, you know. We can even write down our name on the Guinness book for being the cheesiest couple ever. Right Totoro?”

Tiffany saw the doll nod inside her grip and rolled her eyes. She was quite shocked to see this sudden change of Taeyeon. This new Taeyeon would not hesitate to show her feelings contrary with her old behavior, which was always bottling it inside. Well, she was glad with her change that indeed made Taeyeon look happier than before. Tiffany emphasized every syllables with hits just to distract herself from blushing madly.

“C.H.E.E.S.Y.”

Taeyeon who got the not-so-tender hits aimed on her right shoulder could only squirm in response. She didn’t care with the stares that a few passerby had thrown over them with. “Well, I will gladly take that title permanently if it’s the price for hearing you talking again.”

Another hit landed on her opposite shoulder. “And the bruises as well, I can endure it. I hope so.” She mumbled her last words.

Tiffany puffed her cheeks. “Nice move, Kim.”

“I know.” The older girl chortled, she tightened her grip around her waist.

“Thanks for agreeing to be my fake boyfriend, though.” Tiffany bit her own lip, she kept on accusing Taeyeon for being cheesy, but yet look at what she was going to do. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. “I know, it was so random, crazy even. I could perfectly understand why you were so against with my let’s just say overly open-minded mind before. But I’m thankful, in spite of your scolding, in the end of the day you’re still helping me.”

“Pffftt.. more like your overly crazy mind.” Taeyeon scoffed. “And that’s because you took my sister’s book as a hostage.”

She heard her scoff but Tiffany chose to ignore it. “I thank you for everything.”

“Aww, you forgot to add baby on your line, baby.” Taeyeon cooed with puckered lips.

But she heaved a sigh as Tiffany slapped her shoulder for the umpteenth time that day.

“It’s going to numb soon...”

Tiffany didn’t respond.

“I will gladly do it for you. Couldn’t imagine if it were Sooyoung.”

The younger’s lips twitched as her eyes turned soft, “I love you too and I mean every words of it. Thanks for being open to me. And yes, it’s a nightmare.”

“Well, I was so tired physically and mentally. I wasn’t even sure I like you like you, you know.” She smiled teasingly. “But thanks for letting me kiss you at that time.” Taeyeon chuckled. “It was worth it although I wasn’t sure at the first place.” She leaned forward before closing her eyes, kissing her tenderly. Tiffany followed her lead and did the same, gently conveying her love towards this person.

Both immersed themselves with their feelings as they took and savored everything slowly. “And thanks for agreeing to be my girlfriend.” Taeyeon added after breaking their kiss the moment after, their heads were still against each other. Tiffany’s eyes flickered open and she couldn’t help but stare at the other girl’s fascinated eyes.

“I love you.”  They both said in synchronization and chuckled again. Tiffany still had her gaze planted on her and Taeyeon just openly stared back. She then scrunched her face jokingly after realizing that Tiffany would not stop doing it anytime soon. “Am I that beautiful?”

She saw her pulling back and couldn’t help but throw a playful look. “No. You are handsome.”

It made Taeyeon trail her line of sight, and she smirked inwardly when Tiffany’s eyes finally rested on hers. “You are checking me out beautiful?”

The younger girl didn’t want to lose, she reached to lightly touch her nose— whispering breathily. “Am I allowed to?”

When Taeyeon didn’t answer, she just knew that she had won it. Tiffany chuckled, “Why do you dress up like guy? Didn’t you say that you want to stop doing it? Or do you want to flirt, huh?”

She ended her words with a pinch on Taeyeon’s nose. “You dare, Kim Tae-”

Tiffany stopped talking abruptly when out of nowhere Taeyeon kissed her.

“What was that for?” She exclaimed after being dazed for a while.

“To stop you from thinking wrongly about me, what else?” She smirked and looked down at the clutched doll inside Tiffany’s embrace. “Hey Totoro, how sad it is?”

Tiffany looked down as well as Taeyeon began to its fur.

“I just want to take my girl to a date but she accused me for flirting instead.”

“Why don’t you dress up normally? I’m pretty sure, she won’t mind. She loves you for who you are.”

Taeyeon hid her grin when Tiffany asked in a high-pitched voice, probably wanting to imitate it and telling her sweet words. Tiffany couldn’t bring herself to face her, so she looked down and talked—looking at her doll she animatedly moved.

“True, but I want to show her that I could be an oppa as well. A cool and romantic one.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes it is. But she won’t believe me.” Taeyeon said with a somber look. “I want to take her to Lotte World, taking rides and countless photos, eating ice creams, screaming inside haunted house, laughing at her scared fac- YAH!”

Tiffany had just slapped her face with the grinning doll.

The other girl annoyingly rubbed her own face. “Be thankful, you’re her favorite doll.”

“So, is that your reason?” Tiffany was still imitating its sound.

“Yes.” She curtly answered.

“Come here.”

Taeyeon lunged forward to face the doll. “What?”

“Turn aside, I want to tell you something.”

She did what she was told, earning a wide smile on the younger’s face as she bent down to bring the doll closer to Taeyeon. Still using her childish tone, Tiffany questioned her. “Can you send my ‘thank you’ towards her?”

“Of course.”

By that, Tiffany had moved the doll aside and processed to kiss Taeyeon’s cheek before quickly hiding her face with it. “Thank you so much Taeyeon.” She chimed later. “Being you is more than enough though.”

The look on Taeyeon’s face was nothing but happy one. It was evident by how wide her smile at that moment which nearly ripping . She straightened her back and took a hold of her hand.

“I should be the one thanking you.”

She pulled her hand and started walking. “Thanks for everything, Tiffany.”
