I see you

Twisted Fairy Tales 4: Happily ever after...?

The old woman had only pretended to be so kind. She was in reality a wicked witch, who lay in wait for children, and had only built the little house of bread in order to entice them there. When a child fell into her power, she killed it, cooked and ate it, and that was a feast day with her. Witches have red eyes, and cannot see far, but they have a keen scent like the beasts, and are aware when human beings draw near. When Hansel and Gretel came into her neighborhood, she laughed with malice, and said mockingly, "I have them, they shall not escape me again."

The clicking of heels could be heard on the stone floor as a rather younger looking woman made her way across the floor. Snickering she let herself fall onto one of the throne like chairs that surrounded an elongated dining room table that could easily seat an entire party. Poking her food she looked around, glancing at the three other figures that sat around the table.

“So, did anything interesting happen today? I hear Red Riding Hood finally made it into our little piece of heaven.” She questioned them, each of which nodded in response. Standing to her feet she walked over to the oldest of the three boys, wrapping her arms around his neck. She smiled sweetly as he looked up at her, eyes blazing red with black spots. The spots indicated that she still had complete control over them.

He smiled at the woman as she placed her head onto his shoulder.

“Say, Luhan..why didn’t you bring her back to me?” Luhan’s eyes widened and the other two boys stopped eating, staring down at their plates in silence.

“I-I’m sorry. I tried but...a gunshot went off in the distance and...when we turned around she was gone...I’m really sorry...please forgive me…” He begged the witch as she stood upright beside him. Picking up the fork laying next to his plate she twirled it in her fingers, admiring it in awe.

“So you three were distracted…” She stated, her eyes never leaving the fork. A smile crossed her face and she slammed the fork onto the table, making the thines pierce the wood inches from the young boys hand. He flinched, his eyes filled with fear as he stared into the set of eyes watching him closely.

“Now, next time you see her and get distracted again, I promise that fork won’t miss. That goes for all three of you. I’m not sitting here keeping you safe for nothing. Understand?”

The three boys quickly nodded at the woman, afraid of what she might do next. She grinned brightly as she leaned down to kiss Luhan’s cheek.

“Good, now finish up dinner. I have some stuff I need you three to do before you go back home. Okay?” Luhan smiled and nodded at the witch before she made her way out the door.

Making her way down the stairs her heels echoed throughout the empty castle. Her mind wandered as she started to twirl her hair in between her fingers.

Little Red Riding Hood. She’s finally here. Too late though. While she made her way through the last fairy tales I spent my time wisely. Kidnapping the wolves and making them mine, turning the ones she’s supposed to rescue against her.

She smiled at the thought of the three boys upstairs, following her every command.

No time limit. No wolves to come after me. Nothing. This will be too easy. The minute she steps foot out of that town, they’ll get her, kidnap her and rip her to shreds right in front of my eyes. I will come out victorious and there’s nothing anyone will ever be able to do about it!

Arriving at the basement door she reached up over the doorframe and grabbed the spare key, unlocking the large metal door. Walking in she looked around. The small room was filled with a large oven, built into the wall. A table with various different potions and a witch hat filed the opposite wall joined by a crystal ball.

Walking toward it she smiled, placing her hand upon it.

“Let’s see what the girl is up to right now. I’m getting impatient.”

Looking into the crystal she smiled as an image slowly started to appear.

“Red, are you sure you want to do it that way?” Rima smiled at her friends before sitting on one of the chairs in the kitchen.

“Is there any other way?” Goldi and the children grinned at her, shaking their heads.

“I guess we’ve got our plan all set then. Now we just have to figure out when we strike.” Hansel started. Rima tilted her head, thinking.

“Well...we could-”

“My queen. You wanted to speak to us before we headed home?” A voice interrupted. The woman turned to find one of the boys standing at the door.

“Come in Baekhyun.” The boy did as he was told, his gaze wandering to the crystal ball as he made his way toward her. He couldn’t help but stare at the hooded girl that was shown in the image. There was something about her that made him curious. He wanted to know about her. Wanted to know what exactly made her so evil. She looked nice, sweet, kind, and fun so he didn’t understand why they had to kill her.

As the witch noticed the boy’s fascination she hurriedly covered the crystal ball with a cloth. The boy blinked a few times and his gaze returned to the woman, still completely under her spell. She couldn’t afford to lose her power over them. Neither of them.

“Yes, baekhyun. You alone will do fine. I need you to drop this off outside of the forest, as close to the town as you can come. Place it somewhere she will find it.” She ordered the boy, handing him a small basket. The boy took it and bowed once before turning toward the door and walking out. She watched him until he was out of sight, making sure he was gone before she uncovered the crystal ball and placing her hands upon it once more. The image of the girls and the children faded away and the witch sat down on the chair.

“Too close. I can’t risk that anymore...None of it. After he drops off the basket I can’t have them get near her anymore. Not until she makes her move. Then I’ll have them kill her.” She snickered standing to her feet. Walking over to the table filled with potions she started to mix a few liquids together. As they started to bubble and fumes escaped the bottles she poured it into a smaller container, placing a cap onto it and closing it tightly.

“Just in case they try to disobey me.”

Arriving at the edge of the forest the boy looked into the town as the lights coming from inside the small houses lit it up. He tilted his head, basket in hand before sitting down under a tree. He blinked a few times as his mind wandered.

I need to see her. Question her and if I don’t like her answers I can always kill her. How do I get her to come out here though.

He thought for a moment before his eyes shot open. Smiling he sat the basket down and stood up, looking out onto the full moon.

If this worked for them, I know it’ll work for me.

Taking in a deep breath he closed his eyes and let out a bone chilling howl loud enough to be heard throughout the forest. Right now, he was very happy that the castle was on the other side of the Fairy Tale. This way Red could hear him, but his queen couldn’t.

He stood there for a few minutes and waited, expectantly, hoping she heard him. He grew nervous with every minute that passed until finally a hooded figure could be seen making it’s way out of town and towards him. He watched her every step until she stopped at the edge of the town.

Rima stared at the boy beside the tree, eyes a bloodshot red with black spots. Tilting her head at him she smiled.

“Oh my, what big eyes you have.”
