Review:

I said in the previous chapter that wiwfts is one of my absolute top two, and here is the other one. In fact, I may have to say that this is my ultimate favourite soshi fic of all time. That's really saying something, considering I am far from a fan of TaeNy, but what can I say, this is an exception. A beautifully written, masterfully crafted exception. Everything, from characterization to prose to dialogue, is just sublime. The characterization in particular - I can find no words to do justice to it. I really feel like this is a case when fanfiction almost transcends that border between fiction and reality. Kijeok's characters feel like more than just characters; when I read this, I almost feel like I have the privilege of being granted a peek into the girls' actual lives.

My biggest, and perhaps only, complaint about this fic is that it's not complete. It was last updated in February 2013, and not to be punny, but it's been an endless season of waiting, hoping, praying for an update. I have a lot of burning questions about this fic, and despite that, I have no regrets about reading this and I encourage you to as well so you can share the fire with me.

Tiffany did. She hugged her, tight. She felt Tiffany’s arms circle around her shoulders, felt her pressing close. She breathed her in for a moment. She wanted to say, then, that she wished they would stop trying to hurt each other, and that she remembered the promise they made, once, and that was why it was so hard—that she didn’t know what to do, because it was going to be painful either way, wasn’t it—with her, without her—and she didn’t know what to do—she didn’t know what to do. She wanted to say it, but couldn’t.

Instead, she hugged her, because loving Tiffany was a difficult thing, but it was also the easiest thing.
