Sleeping with the Enemy (Repost)Chapter 37
By the time Tiffany reached the Kim’s house, it was almost eleven. The house had a strange, creamy cast to it thrown from the sky outside, “Tonight is moonlight.” She muttered to herself.
The first thing she had done after closing the main door quietly was calling the housekeeper to tell Mrs. Kim that she had come. Jaejoong’s mother probably thought she had an accident. She knew very well Mrs. Kim could turn into a completely neurotic mother as Jaejoong told her, ‘However, she’s really a nice woman.’ Tiffany thought wisely.
Then she sat down in the sofa & tried to think about the situation but all she could see were Jaejoong’s eyes as they blazed into hers & all she could think was how they were glittering with teasing warmth & deep desire every time he stared at her, ‘Oh god, please let me go from his shadow.” She muttered, under her breath.
“Hello, Tiffany.”
Tiffany smiled softly as she saw Mrs. Kim approaching her, “Sorry, auntie. I’m late.” She got up & hugged Jaejoong’s mother.
“I was wondering where you were. I tried to call to the flower shop but nobody answered. Are you okay, Tiffany?”
“I’m fine. Sorry for not coming home for the last five days. I have a lot of orders & I think staying at my house will be convenient since it is still around the city area.”
“That’s okay.” Mrs. Kim sat down next to her, “Have you had dinner yet?”
Tiffany quickly nodded her head, “I have.” She turned her head to face her aunt, “What do you want to talk about? You sounded so serious on the phone. Is it about me?”
Mrs. Kim’s eyes turned dark. She sighed deeply without saying a word.
“What is it, auntie? Tell me please?”
“Have you seen Jaejoong lately?”
Forgetting the fact that a moment ago she was saw Jaejoong at the bar, she shook her head, “No.” She shuddered, “I...I haven’t seen him. Why?” It was hard to have a conversation because of the tense situation. She knew that, “Is there something wrong with him?”
“I don’t know. He has come back from Singapore five days ago. He was angry with me & left the house. Since then, he never returned my calls.” Mrs. Kim took in a deep breath & put her hands into Tiffany’s.
She frowned. However, the touch of Jaejoong’s mother’s hand sent a thrill of peace & love rushing through her & as she looked up into the depths of Mrs. Kim’s eyes she was totally smitten, just as she looked at Jaejoong’s eyes. They had shared the same shape & color of eyes. She could hardly believe they could talk very well as if she had known Mrs. Kim for a long time. They could talk non-stop & there was this strange feeling of harmony. She found herself opening up to Jaejoong’s mother as if it were the most natural thing between mother & daughter.
“Why was he angry with you? It doesn’t sound like Oppa. He loves you so much. I know that.”
“I know, Tiffany. He was angry because I forced him to do what I want. I forgot that he’s a man now, not a little boy that I always hug & kiss. I didn't want him to sacrifice his future for love. Man could have survived & moved on with his life even without love but I was wrong. Jaejoong is special.”
They fell silent.
“Auntie.” Tiffany broke in.
“I’m talking too much, aren’t I?” Mrs. Kim asked, with a nervous laugh. She tried to turn the tense atmosphere but her voice was very unsteady.
“No, yo
